Wow, nice to see that the K6 400 we were talking about at Twitter worked for you!

It even seems to work at 450mhz! although I am not sure how healthy that would be long term for the motherboards power delivery and the CPU heat

The beauty of socket 7 era, several CPUs sorts (Intel, Amd, Cyrix, IDT, Rise) available, all compatible with the same socket/board.

I did the same CPU upgrade in 1999. In early 1998 I got a P166 MMX which I upgraded in late 1999 to a K6-2 400 mhz. Unfortunately I do not know if my motherboard was a socket 7 or super socket 7. But being purchased in early 1998, I guess it was just socket 7 with 66 fsb support just like the one you have. The performance difference was big and I was pleased with the K6-2 400 mhz. Too bad I sold that system long ago.

I'd argue you could still add the video card that I can see at 1:11 next to the wall, as it must be a 3d card and a k6-2 can work pretty well with it, however I understand your view and not upgrading to the max possible is kinda rare to see nowadays :)
    Great machine !

Like! Some benchmarks would have been interesting. :)

Ah I should have. I thought I would be wasting time when others had done it before but I think I should have more details like that in future!
