Just watched three of your shows back to back. This takes the cake 🎂. I have just learnt so much including admiration for a bloke I never knew existed, let alone his achievements & contributions. Thank you so much.
This is an awesome interview. Sometimes it's hard to relate to certain guests, but Mr Laundy seems like a really extraordinary person. He's the kind of person the new generations should listen to and strive to be. Thanks Mark for another great episode!
Inspirational interview on a humble man who respected his father’s hard work and continued the legacy of his father installing this into his children/grand children. I will be having a 🍻 at one of his pubs. Ps paid for the replacement of my friends knee reconstruction while he was playing for his beloved Twin Willows Rugby League team. He can never thank him enough
What a genuine man Arthur is! I met him a few times at 1 of hes pub's. That was many years ago. Still such an humble human being. Champion! Great podcast Mark. Cheers 👍
What a great insight into our lost culture Nobody can afford to be a regular at any pub , our culture forgotten but Arthur & Mark brought it back to me. Cheers fellas
My family went to Twin Willows hotel for Mother’s Day a number of years ago. Mr Laundy cleared our tables and had a delightful conversation with my elderly nana about what she thought of the cake. I didn’t know who he was at the time but he made our day. He is right to describe himself as a publican. I would describe him as a true gentleman
Exceptional interview of a wonderful man. Not because he’s successful, but because of his stories and examples of virtue for others. More like this please Mark & team.
29 yo grew up in quakers hill with a 2 year old construction business. Trying to get it off the ground. Thank you so much for sharing all of this knowledge. Very inspiring and came at a great time !
Arthur is a testament to adapt and improvise re the Aussie dream! A delightful humble authentic soul.. He obviously felt exceptionally comfortable re the palpable energy and respect Mark emanated throughout the interview 👏 If only more interviews were conducted with this respect and genuine communication ❤
Great interview Mark. The young guys who think they have no prospects should be listening - the message I got was - just have a f#%king go! Thanks Mark👍
First-time viewer, great show. There are plenty of lessons in there. I am so glad I took the time to watch this and learn who Arthur Laundy is. I'm in Qld, so Arthur isn't someone most would know about.
An absolute Gentleman and a great operator. A legend in the Pub Industry knew him from my days in the soft drink game always nice to talk to & deal with.
Always a great dinner at Twin Willows. Friendly staff very well organised. I was always impressed by this man.Asking always how you were and was the meal Ok.The stake chips and salad was always fantastic. Mr Laundy was definitely the best publican in the business!
Well, Mark, you’ve done it again another great podcast If only we could get a lot more of the younger generation to watch this episode, very inspiring shows our hard work loyalty and honesty gets you a long way
I had never come across Mr Laundy before, as I'm not an Aussie, but this was a real good interview with a genuinely lovely guy. Great interview, relaxed and personable style which put Arthur at ease. I guess I'll tune in more often. Thanks.
Great interview Mark. You could probably have another one as I’m sure there are lots more stories. What a career and legacy of wise words and kindness ❤
I'm a business owner in Melbourne. I love hearing Australian business stories. I also loved how Arthur's eyes popped out when he refuted tax avoidance. lol
Great yarn Mark. Old mate sounds like a top bloke. My old girl used to work in the Melton Hotel back in the day and I can vividly remember seeing Tommy and Dallas pop in for a schooner or three. Good times. Cheers
Great podcast (as usual) Mark! My family has lived in Canterbury for 100 years this year. My Dad and his parents migrated from Scotland and built a house in Northcote St Canterbury in 1924. We still have our original house. It was the second house built in the old pasture. My Dad was at the very first Canterbury game. Dad died at 101, 7 years ago. He’d love how we are playing now and how we are back. Arthur might be a Tigers fan at heart but he is a real Canterbury man. He and Gus have brought back that Bullfrog spirit to the club. Bullfrog would be proud. Grateful to the Board too. We fans are proud of our club. The players now playing for the Dogs and the way they are coached by Cirro is Canterbury through and through. Listening to Arthur is like listening to my Dad’s generation and a way of life passing. Long may he and his family live and be successful. Thanks Arthur.
Great interview, brought back early memories of living at Riverwood. I don't really know where it is now as my parents moved us accross the road from DY beach in 62' and that started the surfing and making surfboards lifestyle. I have released my first interview on UA-cam, Australian surf stories with Geoff McCoy, his last interview before he passed in April this year. I have about 8 more waiting to be edited, next one is Shane Stedman. Thought this might interest you Mark, thanks, John Harris.

@MarkBourisYT This is my absolute favourite episode so far. 😍Arthur's heart shines throughout this podcast, a true Go-Giver with incredible values. ❤ Loved every minute of this episode, thankyou so much to both of you.
Seems like a great bloke to be around. I'd be curious to see how his pubs profited off pokies, to see how strong his ethics are in regards to that area.
I worked in a few of his gaming rooms(lasseters)25yrs ago. Only met aurthur cpl times as stu n craig were more hands on back then but really nice ppl. Aurthur didnt put up with dkheads.

I no longer go to Pubs or Clubs because they are all about Gambling. Beers are so expensive I no longer drink. Woolworths & Coles destroyed the place where you would see your mates. Wonderful man, deserves his success. Once Controls are implemented in the Gaming machines. The cash cow that has kept these relics of the past open will have disappeared. Publicans at woolies pubs couldn't pour a beer.
Iam glad I watched this. Arthur reminds me of my late Grandfather, What a great man. Also credit to Mark for the guests he gets on the show and the way he can hold a conversation
Mark, this would have to be my most loved interview you have done (all have been fantastic but having Arthur on is the best). I use to go to Twin Willows every afternoon after work. Arthur would always come to the floor and mingle with the patrons. I had just got into waste management and he gave me the opportunity to inspect all his pubs to provide him with a quote so he could give me the business (because he is a gentleman and respects this patrons), I didn't get the work BUT not because of price, the company I was working for couldn't provide all the services they needed and the areas all his pubs were located. I always remember Arthur because he had such an impact on me that was amazing, sat with me and had drinks and gave me advice from the heart!!!!! An absolute gentleman, caring, honest a true gem!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for doing this interview Mark, na sai kala aderfe!
I just loved listening to this podcast. I was born and lived around Bankstown for over 25 years and the way Arthur was talking about his earlier years around the Bankstown district was just brilliant. Hats off to you Arthur well done mate
I met his son Craig around 15 years ago whilst renovating TAB terminals in their pubs. Craig, so kind, level headed and intelligent before he entered parliament. The laundry family have more understanding and engagement with common people than ever other government party in this deciling country 😑
How does this man feel about making his money from the misery if others pokies booze . Feeding alcoholics. And gamblers . Sleep well while you are counting your money .
The great man Arthur invited me to join him and his son Craig at their table last Monday for the Bulldogs presentation night. What wonderful company he was, his energy and enthusiasm were infectious as he never stopped shaking hands with passes by and cheering on the award winner. An Australian treasure.
