Treating Ptosis With Botox

Поділитися
Вставка
  • Опубліковано 19 сер 2024
  • We see patients with ptosis after Botox fairly frequently in our office from outside injectors. And the main issue here is that outside injectors are often placing Botox in the wrong areas and it can migrate to the muscles that can cause the eye to droop. It's really important to distinguish eye ptosis from brow ptosis.
    In this example, we're showing a patient who came in with a preexisting ptosis. Dr. Shah is going to fix this ptosis by evening out the brows and working with the patient's anatomy as you can see in this video. It is very difficult to correct ptosis.

    Wow! So interesting. I see a subtle but important difference. No strain in the muscles like before. Even the lid crease shows itself! Beautiful & natural. I feel that small improvements should be the goal!

    Honestly her left eye looked better before. Why such heavy eyeliner in the after? Something doesn’t seem right about this. I’m not a doctor but I would’ve wanted my right to match my left in the before. It’s like you created a crease that she didn’t have before.

    • @woolzem
      @woolzem Рік тому +4

      She used heavy makeup in both and i can relate because i have that same issue. But there is a difference. I question the honesty of the procedure that was performed, although i think it was successful. Botox takes a while to become fully successful, or maybe she still felt self conscious.

    • @kdub10009
      @kdub10009 7 місяців тому +1

      You’re absolutely right. If you screenshot the before/after you really see that there is virtually no difference other than heavier makeup. The top of her left cornea is still obscured by her lid more than her right eye.

      Are you dumb? She was straining her left eyebrow to lift her left eyelid open. Why would he replicate that on her right eye?

  • @woolzem
    @woolzem Рік тому +9

    I feel like you're not being honest because all you can do with botox is relax muscles. The change you see in her face is that her left brow (which you said to leave alone) is now relaxed. The process explained would be helpful for those wanting this treatment.

      As long as I know toxin or botox doesn't drops the brows, it relaxes the muscles which results in lifting up the whole area

    The appropriate treatment would be to perform blepharopasty on the affected eye. The compensation in the affected eyebrow would subside post treatment.

    • @anilshahmd
      @anilshahmd  2 роки тому +1

      Actually there are lots of treatments including Mueller muscle resection, brow lift, and ptosis repair via blepharoplasty. For patients not wanting surgery who receive botox this can work for about 3-4 months. It is very technical injection requiring mastery of facial anatomy so it is not for everyone.

Its really hard to use tool to press on my original to trace the crease line, bacause it has gotten so weak its barely there and on top of that the new crease is in the way. I also tried to use thin tread to put it between my eyelid then open my eye wide hoping to trace the old crease back,but it seems useless because once i blind the thread will fall off. I wasn't sure if that was safe so i stopped. Now stuck with thick eyelid and I'm very sad and lost my confidence, please help me.
