When a professional is giving you their opinion which results in less money for them, trust them... just trust them. You can be sure their opinion is honest and not skewed by greed.
well its not about opinion its about taste and what you find attractive. I completely agree and would never do anything to my face even though i dont like everything about it. But there are women who just think they look more attractive and in reality they look ridiculous. But its all about perception. 😂😂😂
Victorian Cosmetic Institute and I really think more people are talking about how fillers can look so unnatural. It’s only a matter of time that professionals follow suit. There will always be a select group that want that look, but the majority do not. I’m baffled by some celebrities that go over board. Can you talk more about helping with the beginning stages of sagging skin and what can be done? Thank you for being so down to earth, honest, and respectable in your advice. Do you ever do any virtual consultations since I live so far away?
Wow finally a person who understands that attractiveness and youth are not the same thing. In fact many of the features ppl find attractive are MATURE facial features.
Anne Wilkinson Well thank God I’m blessed and so are certain others. I agree as well, many “young” people look older than they should. It’s actually terrifying to see 🥴
@@privatelifejust_4me When I was around 17-20 I always got told I should model cause I was naturally super thin but model agencies turned me down saying my facial features were too soft and "Not stong enough" to model. Which is weird since I think Gigi Hagid definitely has "softer" looks than me. I
Anne Wilkinson Oh I wouldn’t be surprised. Just like any job they pick and choose even when two people can have the same credentials, features, body type etc. Hopefully all worked out in your favor and overall for your life. I’ve learned that when you think something is definitely what you need or want it’s actually better when things don’t go as planned. 🌈
I like both (naturally) round "baby" faced AND defined/mature faces. I know change is hard for a lot of people (myself included) but we really need to start embracing the fact that we're going to change appearance as we move through 80-100 years.
Ive had a round face my whole life and I hate it lol I dont understand why people want to puff up their faces more when I want a thinner face. No matter how much weight I lost my face will still be round
Tahtahme's Diary exactly, Ive been wanting to fill up my tear through for years and years, gone to my dr who’s also perform plastic surgery and she told me she wants to put 2ml under each one of my eyes, I swear I was about to do it but now after this video I might just go with 1ml each
ye23 when your older it will slim down I promise, I used to stay slim because of it, now I can eat anything and it stays slim but my body is bouncy again🤷🏻♀️
I'm glad the doctor I went to was like ''sorry I don't inject people who are already beautiful" or something to that effect. Measured my face, told me it's perfect and I'd be better off with some counseling. Gotta say I walked out of there feeling amazing even though he said I need a shrink 🤣❤️👍
Obviously she has gone true serious health issues do to alcohol and bad eating habits, but even before she gained the wait you could thell fillers where destroying her face, with that said I truly hope she gets better.
If I remember correctly after the whole lipstick disaster, she developed a drinking habit and this can bloat you like crazy as you can imagine + actual fillers
I thought I was the only one who feels like they look more attractive the more they age. We have such a problem with thinking that beauty is reserved only for people ages 13 - 25. I just turned 30 a few months ago and I look good af. Sorry to disappoint.
I feel like a lot of people in their twenties forget that our faces aren't "finished" yet. Most of us are probably gonna look drastically different when we hit our thirties, and like Dr. Chan says, gain some contour naturally. My mom for example had a very plump face all throughout her twenties, but now in her fifties she has the most insanely sharp cheekbones, and looks amazing! I guess what I'm trying to say is to be patient with your looks? Idk
Yes! My sister turned 39 this year and throughout her twenties she always had a chubby face. She lost a bit of weight a few years ago and her face matured insanely. She has killer cheekbones and a very nice definition.
I'd also add to say that there's nothing wrong with having a rounder face. I have a round face. So does my mum. We just don't have prominent cheekbones and that's fine. It doesn't need fixing.
Yeah, but you can see the emotions on a 20 or 25 year old person smiling etc without eyes wrinkles or lines n her foreheads eyes or cheeks. That's what people want to attain
how old are you? i'm just wondering for myself. and did you lose it quickly or in a span of a year? and did you get more lines on face? i need to lose 15kg but im scared
@@hirrorstories just lose the weight. As long as you're doing a mix of cardio and resistance training, or even Pilates and yoga, your face will be fine.
You can see her face has widened up around her eyes at the sides. Alcohol doesn't do that, or weight gain - cheek filler does! And tonnes of it, she's also got way too much under her eyes.
Kevin Espiricueta It’s a mixture of alcohol and weight gain that makes it more _noticeable_ lol. She’s not lying about the that. She said she’s had fillers I’m p sure. All you have to do is look at her through the years. I’ve followed her for a very long time and her face has changed, and not because of age or just weight gain lmao.
Most honest Doc EVER! Typically the technician oversells and has us believing more is better. Love this guy and need more like him - especially with these young girls who think they are imperfect unless their lips are as big as beach balls.
I went to go get fillers in a moment of weakness, the doctor told me "no" until I adopted better skin care based on my lifestyle. I'm grateful for that
@@Cinnabar_and_Chalcanthite a good dermatologist will ask you about your skincare regime. Mine asked me if I was doing skin treatments, such as microdermabrasion, peels, fraxel laser etc... as someone in late 20s / early 30s, investing in propper skin treatments that treat the skin is a good way to improve skin quality, something fillers and botox don't do.
Same thing happened with me. Went for teeth whitening, and the doctor said NO, your teeth are white already, no need for that. Except you need teeth cleaning which i will recommend only after six months. Thanks to that Doctor
It's kind of an art form. I really don't have the money to get surgery but I like to see what goes into it. I'm definitely getting my facelift someday though!
We need to stop contributing to a society that idealizes what “attractive” form looks like. Celebrities weight increase/decrease makes headlines, it’s gotta stop.
I have a chubby round face. I hate it, but being 43 and told I look 33 constantly almost makes that roundness worth it. My friends from college who are thin and have a lot of angles on their face look much older than me. I wish society would stop thinking people with rounder faces are ugly cuz we are not!!
YES, that is me and family- super thin face/jaw. We look like absolute sh!t aging even with the best of care and health. Always envious of the wider rounder face; looks more wholesome and friendly. Villains always portrayed with thin faces
I got that tear through (5:40) years ago and I'm really happy about it 🙂 It's the only thing I've done, but it taught me two things 1) they said that fillers would only last a few months, it has lasted years 2) it gave me small wrinkles underneath the eye (crows feet)
Joeistherealest - thats only going to help on the outside, and for only so long. Security comes from within and until you figure that out you’ll always be chasing it.... eventually your going to age so you need to be ready for it mentally... fillers or not!
Brèagha- we’re talking about fillers and growing old doesn’t mean your broken...you will have wrinkles. That is what I am talking about. Trying to fix wrinkles 🧐 Scars or something maybe, but just aging Nah! There is nothing wrong with getting wrinkles..l somewhere along the line people began not excepting wrinkles. Not sure why that happened, but its a natural process!
I inject filler and botox in my face and for myself, I consider it no different than dying white or grey hairs or putting on makeup. Am I insecure? 🤣 not a chance!! Just a preference, that's all.
This is SO true! I have never understood why so many celebrities use fillers. I think its very unflattering. It just makes them look puffy and makes their eyes look small.
Aly Art made an interesting observation: that when the human body has infection, it becomes inflamed and puffy in the affected area. So even when someone has fairly subtle fillers, we still get that "uncanny valley" feeling, because we, on an almost subliminal level, will recognise the puffiness as sickness.
I’m turning 30 this year and I was looking at my pictures from my late teens/early 20s and I have to agree my face has contoured out for some reason and I think I look waaay more attractive now vs then
@@ghostlobster6631 yeah, my face had baby weight on it when I was younger. Every day even still I notice a subtle change and my jawline contouring. Anastasia Rose it’s actually so sad when you look at how she looked previously. I know she says it’s weight gain but my weight fluctuates and even at my heaviest,it has never looked like that. She was so naturally gorgeous before
Surgery isn't necessary. Just eat healthy, have a good skincare routine, wear sun screen, exercise to be/stay fit, brush your teeth, go to the dentist and be a happy person.
Charmaine Espeut surgery is necessary after a certain age, in order to cut off the saggy skin. No amount of healthy food and brushing teeth can replace a good facelift.
@Veronica Bolanos Women don't age for the worse until they are 35 and up. If you don't look good between 18-35 then you will never look good unfortunately.
I’m 19 rn, and lots of people mistake me for being 12-14 years old because I have a baby face. Its not the worst thing in the world, I’ll probably like that I look young when I’m in my 40s. But I want to look a little more attractive rather than looking like a kid. I hope I “grow into my face” as I enter my 20s.
29 and have the same face as 17. I like it sometimes others I don’t. I’m not messing with my face with surgery. I use tretinoin and spf only. Life is good.
Yeah, I noticed at 25 I was looking more sophisticated! It comforted me a lot because I was afraid of getting older. I am almost 35 now and I think I look really good! It helps that I have oily skin (yay acne!) and I never tanned after age 14.

I’m glad you mentioned “transitions“ of the face. I lost a lot of weight very quickly during and after quarantine. I’ve always had big protruding eyes, and the loss of fat has my eyes casting crazy tear trough shadows that make me look tired and 10+ years older. After a lot of research, I believe I’m dealing with a mid face deficiency that I would love to have corrected with light cheek fillers. Thanks for all of your videos.
@s m yeah I’m pissed about it. Tretinoin helped tighten up the skin but the line is still there. I’m hoping to get fillers when I reach my goal weight. Did you do anything about the lines or did you just let them be?
They don't like the result and make the mistake of thinking more is the answer, when it's less. People find it very difficult to admit mistakes to themselves.
I think they don’t realize that the filler is still there after being spread oit and losing definition. So maybe they think it’s their own face and wants more of that first filler definition withour realising it will only get worse 😩
@Tamara Charm no,don't get a facelift, completely unnecessary. For under eyes hollows you can have your own fat transfered under your eyes for a longer effect.
Tamara: Pay attention. If you listen, he talks about that at about 5:43. He said just very little filler will help smooth out that hollow area under the eyes. He just a very small amount of filler.
@Tamara Charm I read that the fat lasts much longer than fillers and it is natural. It can last for years whereas filler is only good for 1. Plus you are not injecting any bad chemicals. I would encourage you to read about it,I would much preffer the fat.I read couple of articles of people being happy with the fat and I also read about people regretting the fillers. I think it is better to talk to professionals, this is just my opinion
@Tamara Charm I mean, the fillers also have side effects. If done incorrectly it can even cause blindness . I think you should do some research on your own and then get at least 2 professional opinions. Just make sure that you can trust the doctor who gives you advice, because some of them will advice you to get the fat injection just because it is more expensive. I am interested in getting it too,but probably not these couple years. Obviously ,anything invasive can have some consequences, how serious and whether they are reversible are important questions to consider

Buccal fat surgery is really cheap and quick without masses of down time. She might have had that as I know the pics of her when she was young, her cheeks are chubby.
Bless this man - He's good enough to tell us. In years to come, this can cause problems with the nerves in the face, paralysis of one side or one part of the face, and other horrible things. WHY risk it. If we're not gorgeous - So what?? MOST of the world isn't - Build up your personality, not your FACE - Be comfortable in the skin you're in - It was meant for Yoooo!! How many people do we know who have a pretty/handsome face but are such a put off - Personality comes through!! Kind, caring, funny, good natured all these make up for good looks, any day!! Also, when we're young we don't realize how good looking we are. Save a picture you don't like and look at it when you age - You'll see what I mean. This filler stuff is nuts - UNnecessary!! Thank you for making this video! I am just 23 years old and since i was 20 my laugh lines were already static due to alot of weight loss (40kg). Since a couple of months ive been noticing them more and more but i dont want to get anything done about my face because its my canvas of life. But its quite hard to not feel insecure about it. When you google: Are laugh lines beautifull the only thing that pops up are plastic surgeons. That shit bothers me alot because they create unrealisitic beauty standards and they profit of insecurities of people. And i understand you help the people get rid of their insecurity but you create them for the others by helping that person. I just wanted to see some positive points about getting/having wrinkles but the only thing i found was how to get rid of them. The stigma around wrinkles is so misplaced at the moment and i am waiting for the revolution were everyone is considered beatifull just the way they are/age. I am almost 60 and have been doing facial exercises for 4 years because I had bone loss in face and it was very noticeable. Surgeons built the bone back up in my jaw using my bone but I had to build the muscles in face with exercises and no fillers. Generally I cannot agree more. Overfilled faces look ridiculous. The reason people are satisfied with their overfilled looks is probably because they were over-focused on their wrinkles and just having those filled up makes them so happy that the do not even see how inflated they look. However not everyone has naturally beautiful fat distribution in the face. I look bettet when I am borderline underweight than in thr middle of the normal range. Therefore I rathet have resonable amounts of filler on my cheekbones instead of gaining weight on my lower cheeks.
@Tamara Charm try getting derma rolling, dermaneedling, or collagen laser done on the skin there. Personally I have found that my skin thinning too much makes a bigger impact on my under eye hollows than the age loss in localized fat (I weigh more than when I was a teen, it's just in my butt and thighs) because I would have looked better if the skin just didn't become so paper thin and easily showing the blod vessels underneath. Less babyface isn't bad, but skin health decline usually is a problem. ...You may want to make sure your diet becomes more supportive of your (skin) health too if you are older, like all the right amino acids and minerals and such.
AH I so appreciate you. You can do SO MUCH magic with the use of highlight and contour. I worked at a skin care center at a plastic surgeons office. We ONLY did work for reconstruction patients, post cancer, injury, and bariatric surgery. I'm so glad our doctors were very conservative. You can do so much with makeup, very little correction is needed otherwise. I have a HUGE nose. Contour, and it looks great! Long term plastic surgery doesn't look great. Eat well, and age naturally!
@penelope 2232 You are so right: when I was shown how to.contour correctly, it was amazing. But, you have to go to someone like yourself, not some counter girl working a cosmetics line.
Not many people are able to wear makeup as and when they want. Part of the reason why I got fillers was because I was heavily allergic to makeup, and any application would result in my skin itching and having hives.
I’m so glad I watched this because my doctor told me I would need a minimum of three syringes to “enhance“ my features. You are the only doctor that is telling us not to put too much filler in our faces and it’s information that is well needed. I only wish you lived in Canada.🙏💕
@@viccosmeticinstitute he talks about that 3:00 into the video and says how his believe is that long term the fillers flatten so placement really doesn't matter in the end. How would you respond to that? (Not arguing just curious what your opinion is)

Finally a knowledgeable professional who can clearly articulate how to use fillers to enhance and not change o deformed the face. Yes! This is the sort of care and consideration you want in an injector. You should help that poor woman whose face you destroyed. She took you to court and you destroyed her in a different way. I just read her tragic story. Make right for your wrongs.
I am so glad I watched this video. I've been contemplating getting fillers because my jawline is sagging. But after my 5th Botox filler in my forehead last Saturday I still have terrible bruising (this is the first time I've bruised like this) and now thinking that'll be my last injection. I'm 52 and wish I could just embrace aging naturally. I always said I would until about 4 years ago when I started noticing the forehead lines and my jawline dropping. Your video just popped into my feed and I will take that as a sign! Thank you!
I too hope that fifty and sixty year old women will learn to love and embrace aging naturally... I am 30 and sometimes need the encouragement from the women before me that I too can accept my age as it comes.
I stopped Botox after several years and now I feel like my forehead wrinkles are so much worse (but it’s probably just the contrast of having been “smooth” for so long). I am trying to accept aging, but I have also learned that there are natural ways to take care of your skin and facial structure that can help you look and feel better - gua sha and face yoga. They are natural and gradual and gentle and chemical free methods which we in the West are often too impatient to look into.
You remind me of my doctor! I like him very much because he refused to give me a filler treatment the first time I went to see him, he said "you seem unsure about getting them and I don't feel that you're ready" , the second time though he promised to keep it natural "I wouldn't be good at what I do if people noticed a huge change in your face" he said, and to be honest, no one noticed anything... I just got compliments from people saying "you look happy, you look fresh, you look healthy" which is exactly what I wanted.
This is so true. I worked with a woman in her 60s who was attractive, despite a few wrinkles. She was excited to show me a photo of how she used to look so pretty (in her opinion) as people said she looked like Liz Taylor as a young woman. I was expecting to see a stunning woman in the photo but my thought was that she looks better now as she has great cheek bones. I wish I'd told her that but at the time I didn't want to offend her as she was clearly so proud of how she'd looked in her youth.
Next time, don’t hesitate to tell someone they look great now. You would have made her feel good. She’s living in the past and is not getting the attention (or compliments) she used to get. It would have made her feel better about how she looks now❤️.
As someone who gets filler for my excessively hollow under eyes, I'm inclined to agree. I've had many doctors try to upsell me on cheek, chin, and even temple filler because my face had always been slim (even in my teens, the undereyes were a problem then too). And yet when you look at models and movie stars most of them have these slim faces, it makes no sense to me why I'd want to ruin that.
I have difficulty concentrating on what you're saying because I'm distracted by how good-looking you are. ;) Seriously though, your channel and content are valuable and I thank you for uploading and having the integrity to share your views and values in public. Thank you Dr Chan. :)
As a woman with round, chubby cheeks and very little chin definition, this makes me look younger than I really am. It makes me self-conscious. However, my mom, dad, and other people have told me my natural face features make me appear youthful; they have told me to embrace it. It's funny because many people want to look younger while I am worried about my baby face, but I have to learn to appreciate myself.
baby face is good. I hated it when I was younger but as I got older, I loved it. I loved the comments from people at 27 years old. When I got to age 37 I looked my age. I wasn't happy at 37, I looked exactly like 37. I formed some upper and lower eye bags as well. I thought I be baby face forever but uv light from sun damages your face over time. This was something I did NOT I know about. My advice is to apply sunscreen and protect your babyface. Huge Grant is 60 but looks 78. Does no skin care. Use to be very goodlooking guy as well
I have a baby face but my eyes are that of someone wise beyond my years. It's the only thing that makes sense; when I was 15 I could get into bars without ID for some reason but to this day at age 32 I am forever getting ID'd. People are always shocked when I tell them how old I am they don't believe it. Because of my baby face smh they think I am 18-25. You're dam right about that! I looked weird in my 20s, I've definitely glowed up in my 30s.
Idk
Yes!!! My mum also changed in her thirties and got more naturally contoured. Why would you get surgery in your early 20s!

This. 100% agreed
Aly Art made an interesting observation: that when the human body has infection, it becomes inflamed and puffy in the affected area. So even when someone has fairly subtle fillers, we still get that "uncanny valley" feeling, because we, on an almost subliminal level, will recognise the puffiness as sickness.

This is because they don't love themself and think that changing their appearance will change that....it doesn't unfortunately.

Exactly, finally the true approach to what fillers actually does.
You hit the nail on the head. So many practicioners will NOT tell their patients this, but take their $$$, and the results are not great. Your honesty is refreshing !!!!!

Be good to your body, it's the only one you've got, and you need it to last. Hurt it, & it will retaliate - Better believe it!! Fillers - Seriously?? Not worth the risk!!
Sorry for the long comment but im just really fed up with this. Don't get it wrong i respect you for not filling up faces anymore but i just think the beauty standards that are created cause unnecessary distress for alot of people.
And to the one person that reads this comment: You are beautifull and special just the way you are, don't let anyone ever tell you anything different.
I'm 30 and I dermaroll my face at home and my skin and little lines are going away, there's other ways to improve lines and wrinkles other than pumping fillers into the skin
One of the most beautiful men I know, has them on early age: Jensen Ackles. If you see Supernatural pilot episode, there they are. I think he takes care of his body and face ('cus it shows), but his crow feet shows how much he loves to laugh.

I am almost 60 and have been doing facial exercises for 4 years because I had bone loss in face and it was very noticeable. Surgeons built the bone back up in my jaw using my bone but I had to build the muscles in face with exercises and no fillers. The commitment and dedication to these exercises are not easy but it does work and I can feel and see the muscles in my face.
Are you doing facial yoga?
@@canoegirl6335 I do facial exercises and facial yoga. Facial yoga for me was not enough to build the muscle. I use Facerobics program 5 days a week and then usually a facial message every night and facial yoga on the weekends.
I have to admit its not easy to be that dedicated but I have no choice because I have seen what the loss of muscle does to the face. I will be committed to this routine for the rest of my life. I love the "strength" I literally can feel in my face. It works.

I respect this doctor more than any other cosmetic surgeon. He spilled the beans
I totally agree, for some reason Hollywood plastic surgeons believe round faces is better for older people as it's a return to their youth.
@@theresag1969 I think wide rounder faces actually make them look older
Brooklyn's Baby wide round faces are actually very youthful if its NATURAL lol it’s called neoteny
Tom Cruise gets away with it. But who knows what else he's taking.
AH I so appreciate you. Jaclyn hill has completely ruined her once beautiful face with too much filler. I believe the term is called moon face. This video is so refreshing and couldn’t come at a better time. Hollywood has gone completely overboard with facial fillers and erveyone just looks like blobs
yeah she pumped up her face so much that she looks like she has a condition called cushing syndrome which gives you a moon face. I have no clue why she did this to herself or why she thinks it's attractive.

Wow! Watching your content has helped educate me and confirm some of my suspicions. I've always felt that a little would go a long way, but most people I know who have filler are going back constantly to have more. Thank you for sharing your work with the world.
Where would you recommend going to learn how to do makeup contouring?
Not many people are able to wear makeup as and when they want. Part of the reason why I got fillers was because I was heavily allergic to makeup, and any application would result in my skin itching and having hives.
That's great advice
This is just my opinion.. but if you get to the point of heavy contouring every time you wear makeup then I don’t see a problem with surgery.
I’m so glad I watched this because my doctor told me I would need a minimum of three syringes to “enhance“ my features. You are the only doctor that is telling us not to put too much filler in our faces and it’s information that is well needed. I only wish you lived in Canada.🙏💕
It all depends on how you place it. The placement is more important than the volume when it comes to making someone look good with filler.
@@viccosmeticinstitute he talks about that 3:00 into the video and says how his believe is that long term the fillers flatten so placement really doesn't matter in the end. How would you respond to that? (Not arguing just curious what your opinion is)
@@1sTEfFaniE1 the filler tends to spread a little but is relatively cohesive so doesn't completely flatten or go across to the other side of the face
I've noticed that a lot of doctors must have body dysmorphia becuase they themselves start to look overfilled

My round AF baby-face could never but I still love to learn about fillers

Thank you for addressing this disturbing use of fillers. I think it changes people too much I appreciate your honesty and great points
@@littledancingfawn I know. I regret it. Will do next time.
I considered fillers, but research (which included your channel) dissuaded me. Like fillers, life is not static.
Nothing wrong with "hollow eyes"
@@ertfgghhhh
The under eye filler can leak to where the nerve goes from your eye socket in to your skull and it can cause serious problems. Be careful.
You injected a needle under your eyes? That's insane.
