Hello honest, I have a few to pick from! 1. Celebrity worship 2. Feeling the need to protect a celebrity at all costs when they're a grown adult that can handle their own conflicts 3. Sending death threats to someone who may disagree with you 4. Infantilization of celebrities(this includes k-pop) 5. Feeling entitled to know everything about a celebrity 6. Cancel culture 7. Stop making stupid people famous 8. The constant comparison of two women and one has to be "the superior" and the other "the copier". It's old, annoying and obnoxious. Some well known examples would be Nicki vs Cardi, Selena vs Hailey, Olivia and Sabrina and so on. Just let these people live and do what they do. Finding small things to complain over what another person is doing does not make your fav better. There are more important issues to worry about than whether someone "copied" someone else. If only some of these people put their stress towards real world problems instead of drama created by fanbases. Touch grass. These people do not know you nor care about you.
You can wear what you want if you find it comfortable, but when you just do it to get popular and it's not your self expression (because taadaa, everyone can wear whatever tf they want) then we have a problem. I think asking Rihanna for music is beyond expired. To me, most people haven’t sat with her albums esp (Rated R). I think she’s given her dues to music and just wants to be a businesswoman/mother. Enjoy her 4+ albums and just listen to someone else lol.

Coi Leray and Saweetie do lazy sampling bc they want a quick viral tiktok hit and a radio hit. I don't feel there's any artistry behind it in comparison to the Q-Tips with the jazz samples, the Kanye Wests with the soul samples, the J Dillas or the Beyoncés especially with Renaissance. The intention as well the execution are important to me. Madonna's "Hung Up" which sampled Abba's "Gimme gimme" is one of the best usage of a sample in pop music in history just like "Crazy in Love" with the Chi-lites "Are You My Woman" sample. Madonna with the help of Stuart Price wanted to revive the 70s disco sound and asthetic but made it modern for the mid 2000s. They did it with care and it paid off. Hung Up legit stands on its own while still honoring the original

So I went to school for music. I was surprised when I saw the structure of songs completely change? I don’t think that we will return to bridges in songs because, as I mentioned, entire song structure has changed. (Along with our attention spans). As a 27 year old, I LOVE bridges and interludes because they contribute to the story of a work of art. But it’s crazy to watch Music Theory and all the things we were taught, completely change before our eyes.
Yeah songs are definitely shorter now, making them lack the structure and depth they once had. Although shorter songs like Eleanor Rigby prove this wrong so idk

But maybe music theory changing is a good thing, for a long time and even now most of Music theory rules we are taught stem from a high class, white, western lens. So breaking the rules is kinda refreshing especially in todays modern time where creating music is far more accessible and diverse :)

A trend we should return > albums being the full purpose of a release, not just catchy singles to hype it up and then the rest of the album being..... I miss pressing play on the first song and going through the whole album appreciating and finding love for all of the songs included and the overall gift it is. There are some of that have been released this year and last. But I find it more and more underwhelming. Miley last album vs plastic hearts. Or Nicki Minaj newest arm left me feeling very eh. I was shocked the first song is mostly Billie but you couldn't collaborate w Billie then? Post Malone last album is incredibly better than twelve carat toothache and I'd like to see artists retake that. I think so many do appreciate a solid well produced album or ep to show the artists journey or new direction.

The comparisons between Beyonce and Taylor Swift has always been orchestrated by fans and media but it became too intense this year following their stadium tours. The reason why these two won't fall for the media tricks is not because they belong to different class. It's just that the two artists know fully well of their impact and force. Beyonce wouldn't want to be beef Taylor and vice versa because it will greatly affect their careers and public image. You can't compare these 2 artists with Nicki and Cardi. Because the level of these 2 female rappers are different. Its like comparing Beyonce and Sza or Taylor and Olivia. While Nicki is an established artist who is well respected in the rap industry and its seen as an Icon, Cardi is not. Cardi and Nicki beef would have any great impact if Cardi was on Nicki level or status. Nicki wouldn't want to beef bigger artists like Beyonce, Rihanna, Taylor, Drake etc. These are well established artists with great influence that could affect Nicki's career. And not only Nicki, I mean look at how Katy vs Taylor negatively afftected Katy Perry. You choose your opponent wisely.
You couldn’t have word it better. I believe this is what happened when Olivia Rodrigo was accused of stealing songs from Paramore and Taylor. Standing up for herself meant going against 2 very well known and established artists and that would had turn both fandoms (which are pretty big) against her. She had just released her 1st album and she was making her debut as an artist, she would have been drag down. She knew who she was going up against and decided to not fight back, she chose her battle well.
When I think of nicki and cardi, I heard a quote that perfectly encapsulates them. The gist is that the battles you acknowledge and choose to fight, you are now viewed as being at the person’s level. So when nicki acknowledged the beef with cardi she’s now perceived by people to be on the same level as her and I feel like in the long term addressing that beef kinda hurt her.

Same!!! I only tend to watch her performances on UA-cam because she’s a phenomenal dancer and performer. She’s very talented and can sing but her voice is very grating. I love the sound of greedy and her lyrics but the voice is hard to get used to.

Last i heard, they passed some laws about water destribution, but i don't think it changed in the way they sell tickets (Fill the stadium as much as they can). So probably is going to happen again the next time a artist as big as her come here. The family went on Taylor last concert and talked to her, they said she help and sended a hand written note to the victim's family

It's just there can't be legal LGBT marriages and recognised families, no adoption etc, and in 2020 there was this big issue with the government saying LGBT kids in Poland are not even people and shouldn't be treated as such and they were spreading hate, mostly towards the youth. They wanted to ban LGBT people from entering some public spaces which they tried to do with putting some stickers on doors LMAO like it means anything, and the gov wanted everyone to be catholic with banners saying basically LGBT people are all ped0philes, so just a lot of hate, but no acuall laws against same sex interaction were passed. I would be more concerned of lack of women health rights here but that also should not be any concern for American musicians.....

It can be annoying when musicians keep hyping up music and either take too long to release it or have it ready or scrap it all together. I’m looking at you, Kanye West. Between his years of scrapping albums and releasing albums that aren’t finished like Donda 2, as well as his antisemitism, I’ve lost most of my interest of keeping up with Kanye’s material. I just don’t care much anymore.

I’m kinda confused on this take because I’ve always been able to understand what Billie sings. The only characteristic that Billie has is breathy singing which she doesn’t even do that often anymore outside of her new song.

I hate it when a song is close to being a Billboard #1 hit the artist will release some sort of remix or add a huge featured artist for the sake of manipulating the charts for a #1 spot!
To be honest, I don't consider a #1 all that exciting. The Billboard chart measures how much *activity* or virality a song has received for that certain week. It's got few to measure on quality or if a song is a fanbase-favorite. If something is controversial at the time (Jason Aldean's disappointing racially-motivated song, Oliver Anthony's Rich Men North of Richmond, Miley's divorce after a year) or a song is playlisted on multiple genres of radio stations (Last Night on adult contempt, country and pop; Paint The Town Red on hot AC, pop and hip-hop), it will go #1 or chart very high simply because of that repeated activity.

Being vocal about Ukraine but being complete silent about Palestine is wrong. Or creating image of someone who is politically outspoken but then failing to against genocide is wrong.
There are PLENTY of other conflicts going on around the world besides the Levant & Ukraine. Ethiopia, Eritrea, Yemen, Sudan, Afghanistan, Cyprus, Armenia, Moldova, etc. Where is the outrage in regard to these conflicts? Yemen has been in a state of chaos for years and NOBODY cares. Ethiopia has been in a border dispute with Eritrea that has erupted in war. Also let's not forget the catastrophe that was the partition of India and Pakistan that killed millions upon billions of people. People need to stop focusing exclusively on the Levant, it's exhausting.

Mine would probably be songs that have terrible lyrics and are too specific I'm a metalhead and this is my opinion. A lot of metal songs take whatever the theme is and actually make it into beautiful poetry. Like Lorna Shore. Dancing Like Flames had such beautiful lyrics and you didnt need it to be out there, it was just inconspicuous. A lot of popular songs nowadays lack that. Theres just lazy writing in their lyrics and no thought or love put into it. I've studied poetry, and a lot of songs nowadays are way too out there for my own liking

So I went to school for music. I was surprised when I saw the structure of songs completely change? I don’t think that we will return to bridges in songs because, as I mentioned, entire song structure has changed. (Along with our attention spans). As a 27 year old, I LOVE bridges and interludes because they contribute to the story of a work of art. But it’s crazy to watch Music Theory and all the things we were taught, completely change before our eyes.

The comparisons between Beyonce and Taylor Swift has always been orchestrated by fans and media but it became too intense this year following their stadium tours. The reason why these two won't fall for the media tricks is not because they belong to different class. It's just that the two artists know fully well of their impact and force. Beyonce wouldn't want to be beef Taylor and vice versa because it will greatly affect their careers and public image. You can't compare these 2 artists with Nicki and Cardi. Because the level of these 2 female rappers are different. Its like comparing Beyonce and Sza or Taylor and Olivia. While Nicki is an established artist who is well respected in the rap industry and its seen as an Icon, Cardi is not. Cardi and Nicki beef would have any great impact if Cardi was on Nicki level or status. Nicki wouldn't want to beef bigger artists like Beyonce, Rihanna, Taylor, Drake etc. These are well established artists with great influence that could affect Nicki's career. And not only Nicki, I mean look at how Katy vs Taylor negatively afftected Katy Perry. You choose your opponent wisely.

You couldn’t have word it better. I believe this is what happened when Olivia Rodrigo was accused of stealing songs from Paramore and Taylor. Standing up for herself meant going against 2 very well known and established artists and that would had turn both fandoms (which are pretty big) against her. She had just released her 1st album and she was making her debut as an artist, she would have been drag down. She knew who she was going up against and decided to not fight back, she chose her battle well.
When I think of nicki and cardi, I heard a quote that perfectly encapsulates them. The gist is that the battles you acknowledge and choose to fight, you are now viewed as being at the person’s level. So when nicki acknowledged the beef with cardi she’s now perceived by people to be on the same level as her and I feel like in the long term addressing that beef kinda hurt her.

It's just there can't be legal LGBT marriages and recognised families, no adoption etc, and in 2020 there was this big issue with the government saying LGBT kids in Poland are not even people and shouldn't be treated as such and they were spreading hate, mostly towards the youth. I’m kinda confused on this take because I’ve always been able to understand what Billie sings. The only characteristic that Billie has is breathy singing which she doesn’t even do that often anymore outside of her new song.

To be honest, I don't consider a #1 all that exciting. The Billboard chart measures how much *activity* or virality a song has received for that certain week. It's got few to measure on quality or if a song is a fanbase-favorite. If something is controversial at the time (Jason Aldean's disappointing racially-motivated song, Oliver Anthony's Rich Men North of Richmond, Miley's divorce after a year) or a song is playlisted on multiple genres of radio stations (Last Night on adult contempt, country and pop; Paint The Town Red on hot AC, pop and hip-hop), it will go #1 or chart very high simply because of that repeated activity.

Hip-hop really IS at a decline in recent years and very few hip-hop artists even take risks. Most of them make music that's very stereotypical of the genre. After a while, it gets boring and oversaturated. What he made in tune with the music back then, isn't going to work the same nowadays. I'm a metalhead and this is my opinion. A lot of metal songs take whatever the theme is and actually make it into beautiful poetry. Like Lorna Shore. Dancing Like Flames had such beautiful lyrics and you didnt need it to be out there, it was just inconspicuous. A lot of popular songs nowadays lack that. Theres just lazy writing in their lyrics and no thought or love put into it. I've studied poetry, and a lot of songs nowadays are way too out there for my own liking
