I've been in the avian field for 30yrs now. Having "hands on" experience with everything from Warblers to Birds of Prey and Budgies to Macaws. And i have to say this is one of THE BEST bird baths i've seen. Perfect water depth for the little guys like the hummers who are attracted to the sound of running water as much as they are nectar. Go vegan. That is the embodiment of the god you speak of. You can't love one animal and eat another you can't be an environmentalist and practice factory farming eggs come from twice abused animals. They have feelings they don't want to die Pigs die a god-awful death and gas Chambers in most countries and it's long and it's painful and you can hear them scream to the bricks way out far away. It's just what you've been trained to do from the day you are born. Well said..and I agree, that is a bird spa..it's wonderful that someone took the time to make that for those little ones..someone who makes something like that simply for an animal's enjoyment is a TRUE human being indeed :)
My sister in Oklahoma City spent weeks in her beautiful back yard this summer watching her hummingbirds frolick around the flowers she planted and the 3 hummer feeders she installed and happily maintains. Along with the fresh warm air and sunshine these precious birds, God's tiny angels, lifted her spirits daily and played a large part in her recuperating from Covid-19.
I have a strong connection to water---hearing, seeing, and being in it, instantly relaxes me. Hummingbirds are my fave. This was very satisfying to watch. ❤️
right, i love water, running water, but am terrified by deep water in lakes or the ocean, either because i fear some sea monster lurking in the depths i cannot see or that there will be a huge whirlpool that will suck me down :(
@@PoM-MoM You don't know much about birds, apparently. They are extremely social animals that like to hang together at every opportunity. It's how they find food, select mates, etc. Kind of the opposite of suburban white people, they go towards the places with lots of other beings rather than fleeing them.
All 3 seem to be taking advantage of something different: the spout, the waves, resting on the edge. All taking a cool drink of water. This vid is a keeper!
Probably my favorite video of all time for many reasons. I LOVE hummingbirds! I love it when somebody takes special time and care to look after the tiny creatures. I think this is a beautifully created way to give them a drink, bath, cool off, respite and let them frolic. I love the video because no music or talking! PERFECTION ❤❤❤
I wish someone would put a package together for everything needed for one of these and sell them I sure would buy it. Just don’t want the hassle of trying to do it myself plus don’t have the time or patience. I would love to have one for the small birds since we only have a few hummingbirds in the summer. Love the video thanks for sharing.
I'm also VERY surprised to see all these hummers bathing peacefully next to each other. As they are EXTREMELY territorial little birds and you often times will only see one feeding from a nectar feeder and all others driven off. So this is another interesting aspect of this video footage.
@@squishydevil On the whole Hummingbirds of whatever species are HIGHLY territorial and aggressive. Usually only preferring to feed alone especially at nectar feeders. Bathing perhaps may be a different issue for them which is why they are all congregating together. My guess is if they are all hot then territory doesn't really factor in at that point. It's just a matter of getting cool as quickly as possible.

DIY bird bath tutorial
STEP 1: GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES. (CLICK BLUE WORDS TO SHOP FOR THE PRODUCTS.)
Large Galvanized oil pan (Found at automotive stores. The one pictured is 36 x 25 and was purchased at AutoZone.)
Submersible water pump
Plastic tub
Small outdoor table
PVC pipe (The size of PVC pipe will be dependent upon the size of the fitting on your pump.)
PVC pipe 90• elbow
PVC pipe cap
Wood shims
Aquarium grass (optional)
Tape measure
Hacksaw (to cut PVC pipe)
Drill and drill bits (This is the one I use and love.)
STEP 2: DRILL HOLES IN TRAY AND SET ON TABLE.
DIY birdbath tutorial
Place the tray on a table so that the tray overhangs from the table by a few inches. Place the plastic tub of water underneath the tray overhang. Determine where you want the water to drain from the pan back into the tub. Using a 1/2 inch drill bit, drill one or two drainage holes in your pan.
STEP 3: PLACE PUMP IN TUB AND MEASURE PVC PIPE.
Set the pump in the tub and measure from the fitting on top of the pump to the top of the oil pan. This is the length that you will need to cut your first section of PVC pipe.
STEP 4: PREPARE YOUR SECOND PVC PIPE.
Measure the distance from the farthest edge of your pan to your first PVC pipe and cut a second piece of PVC pipe to this measurement. Using a 3/16 bit, drill single-file holes only on ONE SIDE of the pipe. Be careful that you do not drill all the way through the pipe or your water will not spray correctly. You want the water to spray out of the pipe and into the pan as pictured below.
DIY birdbath tutorial
STEP 5: USE A PVC PIPE 90 • ELBOW TO SECURE PIPES TOGETHER.
STEP 6: CAP OFF THE PVC PIPE.
Use a PVC pipe cap at the end of your pipe to secure the waterflow out of the drilled holes.
Oil pan bird bath tutorial
STEP 7: FILL WITH WATER AND PLUG IN.
Using your wood shims, shimmy the end of the pan on the opposite side of the tub to allow the water to easily drain back into the tub. Fill the tub with water, plug in the pump, and enjoy!

Thank you for No robotic voice over, not talking or playing any music or song or ruining the beautiful background white noise of nature.
Yes, pls make another vid of how you made the hummer waterer. Looks like you started with a cafeteria tray. They LOVE it! and so do I.
I have instructions on my Facebook page Amazing Bird Stuff. You can use a tray if you have one.
@@sandragreganti2874 I'm going to check out your FB page to see if I can make your bird bath. Thank you. Take a look at my industrial size hummingbird feeder if you have enough birds around. Somewhere on one of those posts under "dzerres" in the comments are the instructions. ua-cam.com/video/1CYgbIKXUwc/v-deo.html

You are good hoomans.
Such a beautiful graceful bird. This is the cutest bath time Ive ever seen. Bless you for making it. This proves they know how to relax and are not constantly moving 🙏🙏
