  • I know I’v been doing a lot of modern tiki cocktails lately, but I felt like this one was fitting considering the anniversary of a recent event.
Today we’re going to be shaking up the Don the Beachcomber classic, Three Dots and a Dash.

Love this drink. I made them as the featured cocktail for a party I threw celebrating my daughter's passing the California Bar Exam. "V" for victory! (I was SO sure that she'd pass the first time, that I made the allspice/pimento dram, even though it was a two month process.)
    Thanks for making this video.

Great info on the agricole. I hope people heard that! Great cocktail for a very special day! I love to see these tributes! Thanks for that. Cheers my friend!

Thanks! While I don’t think having an agricole on your home bar is necessary, I do feel like if you decide to purchase a bottle, it also doesn’t have to just sit there and collect dust.

By the way, the "V for victory" in WWII predated, by a long time, D-Day. It was an Allied propaganda campaign, popularized by the BBC before U.S. involvement and was used by various resistance groups in Nazi-occupied countries. Graffitied "V" or " . . . __" would appear on walls. The sound of three dots and dash, such as in the opening to Beethoven's 5th Symphony would be played by car or train horns, or simply by knocking hard objects together. All would infuriate the Nazis and give hope those waiting for liberation. (You'll notice that that passage of music is used extensively in many Allied WWII movies, especially those made during the war.)

I am one of the poor souls to not have St. Elizabeth's available in my area. So I had to make my own. That being said it is quite easy and tasty, it just takes some patience. Once I can get my hands on a commercial bottle I want to compare how I did!

I have some homemade allspice dram that tbh I’m not sure I’ve broken out quite yet, this should give me a nice excuse to use it

Oh nice! It’s def a good one for it. Also next week I’m dropping a Vic’s Navy Grog which is also a great cocktail for it.
