I'm so excited! A Mexican restaurant/grocery has opened in the town near me. The couple who own it are so sweet and so kind and helpful. And now I can find the ingredients you talk about easily! Please support your local businesses when you can. You are helping make someone's dream come true ❤
Girl …I love your recipes. I’ve been following you for about three years and I’ve made at least a dozen of them so far and they’re ALL DELICIOUS! 😋The most recent was red pozole for me and my husband when we were sick a couple weeks ago. He’s Mexican and every time I make one of your recipes, he tells me that I must have a Mexican in my last life 😆 In my head, I always giggle and think if only he knew I have a best friend / cooking buddy on UA-cam that I’ve never met lol . I’d be watching your video step-by-step while I’m cooking too lol thanks for sharing all of the yummy recipes. Sending love from Los Angeles . I’m totally one of your biggest fans 🌮💛🤤
Oh, Angelica, thank you for demystifying those big red sauced meat containers at the back of the Mexican grocery store and I have a market only a half mile away. I never knew what to do with it. I do now!!!!! I'm Anglo Indian and love the red chicken tikka kebabs...I have annatto seeds already and will make it really red now. I can't believe I had not thought of this! Will make tacos this weekend!!!!! -- Ft. Worth, TX
The tacos you made looks so delicious. Thanks for sharing this recipe. My husband and I have tried quite a few of your recipes and have found them all to be wonderful. I love your channel!
I love your channel and every time you mention what happened to your FB page my blood boils for you and your family. God Bless You and your dear family and thank you for teaching me how to cook so many new and delicious recipes.
I looove your channel ❤ I love the achiote flavor 😋 blessings for you and your family 🙏It has a very slight floral peppermint flavor. Mostly for coloring 🥰
I love your channel, what people need to know is that a recipe is a foundation ..............to make it your own,.......... Therefore all critics need to know ........hellooooo..........wake up.
Love your recipes! Easy and tasty......sharing this video with family..thank you so much for sharing all your amazing recipes and "how to's" tutorials..
OMG, I'm drooling! Great idea with the onions and tortillas too. Achiote seeds are about as hard as a diamond, they take a long time to grind. I prefer the paste, which is available at Mexican markets and Amazon. Lime orange or lemon orange are typical of the Yucatan, there is a youtube somewhere posted by the director of "Once upon a time in Mexico" for puerco pibil, it's totally worth the time if you want a pork recipe with achiote. Search - once upon a time in mexico cochinita pibil - I've made this several times for Christmas family gatherings.
Nice! I am lucky that every grocery store around me has a section of spices in the little cello packs. So much more reasonable - I just refill my jars. I make a similar marinade but also use canned jalapenos and the juice and the sliced onions go in the marinade. I cook them on my flat top (Blackstone) and do the tortillas on there too. Delicious. BTW - slicing against the grain, like she did, is key to tender meat. Thanks for the inspiration.
I live in San Diego. Obtaining any and all of the ingredients you recommend is a snap. I want to try this, that looks delicioso. Maybe toss in some green and red bell peppers. 😋
I had no annotto seeds or powder so I used paprika and it came amazing, some of the best taco seasoning ever, I don't understand how people do it any other way now or ever did
Oh, annatto seeds! I made my own Sazon Tropical for a lentil chicken soup by grinding the annattos in my little spice grinder with the rest of the seasonings....yes, mama, it is good!
I’m dying here looking at those exquisite tacos. You just know they are full of flavor. I also have been hearing that restaurants add some baking soda to the marinade for less tender cuts.
Oh my gosh: I have the paste version with the dye in it - I hadn't even thought to look for dye 😳 😅 Many thanks Angelica! I also needed to know more about how to use annato. My in-laws didn't use it, so I didn't learn about it. (We're from New Mexico)
we always marinade our own carne asada: lemon juice orange juice( if we have it, not required) lawrys seasoned salt thats it marinate a few hrs b4 you barbq it outside on the grill. i prep by doing layers in a rectangle pan 1 layer meat lemon juice, try to squeeze evenly across all meat. then lightly season with lawrys, covering all the meat with a light layer the. repeat it comes out so good!
I'm certain you've probably told people this, but I've only been watching about 6 months, what do you use as a ratio for your cumin seed to peppercorn? I bought some whole cumin seed from bulkfoods online just from your recipes. Thank you!!
I will try achiote marinade. Birria from Tacotlan in Chicago is good. Search Tacotlan Chicago on UA-cam to see similarity. Tortillas get coated with delicious red fat.
I have a question - have you always used soy sauce in your Mexican recipes? I see it in several of your videos, and I wonder if the soy sauce is influence from meeting your husband, or if growing yo your family would use soy sauce as well. Thanks for the secret ingredient in this video! 😊❤
Soy sauce has a lot of natural MSG in it. Salty and savory, it works well for marinades in many dishes but too much of it and everything starts to taste like Asian food. You can use it kind of like anchovies in a Ceasar salad, you don't really notice it as fish but if it wasn't there you would miss it. A lot of prepackaged "ethnic" sauces/marinades have soy sauce as an ingredient not just "Asian" food.

She shows the already ground achiote seeds - that's what she uses in her recipe for this video.
Yes!!!😊😊❤ I brought at the Asian store.😊
Looks delicious. Hoping I can make these. 😋 I ordered the spices since I can't shop at fiesta or HEB. Ty
Omg my son always buys the marinated meat from the meat market to bbq I'm going to start marinating it here😋Thank you💗

Angelica, your hair looks great today! Did you have it straightened, colored, trimmed?
I had no annotto seeds or powder so I used paprika and it came amazing, some of the best taco seasoning ever, I don't understand how people do it any other way now or ever did

A little baking soda works wonders. (1/2 teaspoon) not only for less tender cuts but also for chicken. It's a game changer.
😅 girl ... I love your channel..

Is the annato seed for flavor as well or just color? Amazing recipe either way
Yes, the flavor is earthy and peppery. I actually talked about this. I didn't realize I cut that out during the edit. 🤦🏻♀️😬
Yummm yummm yummmmmmmmmm🥰🥰
This is just in time for my weekly menu planning. Looks like we're having a DELICIOUS taco Tuesday👍👍

I will try achiote marinade.
Birria from Tacotlan in Chicago is good. Search Tacotlan Chicago on UA-cam to see similarity. Tortillas get coated with delicious red fat.
You look extra beautiful today!😊
Could I use this for chicken/carne asada in an air fryer?
el yucateco achiote paste is just right, no dyes either
Is the powder packets okay for this?
Do u have a cookbook
Can you tell me what the Seven Blossom spice is? And what is is used for? How to use it?
So delicious 😂😂😂😂😂
What citrus do they use in Mexico?

I did find out sadly too late. ......that grinding my own makes a huge difference.. I also did not know the paste was a dye! .My bad
Same here . . .
you can get color from turmeric powder (yellow) and chili powders/Paprika powder (red)?
If you don't care about flavor, those spices will give you the coloring only.
Great audio.
I want to be part of your family lol😅
🔥💕🤗
I thought it was paprika, thanks.
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Can you tell me what they are using on the chicken there?? Its not red, its orange!
🤫 Anato Seed🤐
I buy the little block of annatto paste
