I Don't Want To Spoil The Party , with its Country vibe was written originally for Ringo to sing. But John felt the song was more personally connected to him as he was the principal writer. Paul said it was 80/20 a Lennon song. George taps his inner Chet Atkins during the guitar solo. Supplying one of his best guitar solos since Till There Was You 10 months earlier. Thanks JAYY for keeping the Beatles Train chugging down the tracks. Your Beatles fans are LOVING it. RNB
These early songs were so good, even if they were not the ones that skyrocketed to number one ( and they had plenty of those). The Lennon/McCartney melodies and harmonies were just wonderful and this song is a perfect example. Jayy, you’re doing a great job of exploring their catalogue. Please check out “If I Fell” for some more exquisite harmonies. 🌺✌️
"I Don't Want To Spoil The Party" was never meant to be a single, or a hit record. It was a 'filler' track, written to pad out the album to fourteen songs. Yet for such a humble tune, it possesses that Beatles magic; catchy, upbeat, smart lyrics excellently harmonized, and a crisp Harrison guitar solo that channels Carl Perkins. Just a ditty to fill the album, but this is a great Rockabilly tune!
I neverminded their Country tracks. And Beatles for Sale is one of my fav albums. I love the jangly guutar, i love the harmonies on " I. Stlll. Love. Her" section. I love John's self deprecation downtrodden- ness , but not completely, cuz hes had a drink or two and he'll go and take a walk to look for her. Its just golden. ❤
This one is a nice example of folk rock, Jayy. One of my favorite Beatle tracks. How many of us have had to deal with a sorrowful event and went somewhere where everyone was laughing and having fun, and you wondered to yourself "why are they all so happy, yet I feel so miserable?"
Another Beatles song that is a FAVORITE of mine and is one that always puts me in a better mood when I need it. What's funny about it is that the melody and tempo are very happy sounding, but when you listen to the lyrics, the subject is sad. I LOVE IT!!! GREAT SONG that should get more attention! THANKS JAYY for reacting to it!!
Rosanne Cash did a great version of this song that hit #1 on the country charts. You might want to check out her song "Blue Moon With Heartache"...beautiful sadness.
I think you need a new set of ears?? WORST ONE?? You must be joking. This is one of my FAVORITES of theirs. I LOVE it, It makes me feel so happy when I am down. FANTASTIC SONG!!

The "I still love her" line is IMO one of the most beautiful Beatle harmonies.

There is something magical about the Beatles.
A great example of music that simply makes you feel good and brightens your day! No one does it better than the Beatles!
But it's also sad, isn't it? Just two and a half minutes and you feel it in your heart.
What a great song! Thanks. Yes, soooo different with every song, amazing!!
love that look you get @ 0:44 when you realize... they've done it again.. another great Beatles song
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BEATLES SONGS

If I Fell is drop dead gorgeous.
A favorite from that album. You definitely hear Carl Perkins on the Harrison lead.
Beatles country music influenced here. This song is sentimental to me now, my late younger brother and I used to sing in harmony on this.

Classic Beatles harmonies here. Love it. Right Jayy! So many sides. Thanks.

It came out 59 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. Time flies!
But it doesn't sound like the tune Yesertday at all lol
Great example of their three part harmony. Listen to "YES IT IS" great song,
I love when they lean towards country
So great, George’s guitar

They're paying homage to some country sound. Ringo did that a lot with songs like "Honey Don't."
Great tune and harmonies!
George looking like an Onion on that album cover. Ha
A Glass Onion, eh? Cool.
The Beatles were very early country rockers - before country rock was aTHANG!

Yeah, it sounds more country, I believe Johnny Cash's daughter covered the song. The Beatles are so eclectic.
❤👍
Wait and I need you are the songs of the Beatles that have different style of approach.
This one l don't remember . Javy has persuaded me to seek out the remixed versions . ( To relive my youth ? ) I hope the're worth it .
❤💯❤️
michelle is another love song ........ sang by paul
Many would kill to make an album of this quality, and yet, "Beatles For Sale' is their weakest studio album.
rock abilly?
Man, beatles has so many great songs, why you suggest her worsts one?
That's your opinion. I love this song. Plus, the list of songs that Jayy hasn't heard is becoming increasingly short.
@@KarenLWhiting Agreed. One of their best tunes from the earlier years. Tempo changes, harmonies, romance. What else do you need?
