      That's cool you guys got to experience that and as a Beatles nut since I was eleven years old and never got to see any of those shows I just want to say "rub it in why don't ya?!" Those are great memories though from shows like that, and though I never saw any of "the boys" live I did go to my fair share of great concerts in the '80's and '90's and had a very similar experience when I saw Peter Gabriel at The Spectrum in south Philly in '87 and he ended the show with "Biko" and at the end when Peter raises his fist and yells "Hah...hah...ho!" over and over there were 20,000 of us raising our fists and screaming along with him for what seemed like forever. It was pretty powerful and something that still gives me chills and it's really amazing that the entire concert from that night is on here; can't believe it was that long ago.

    When they were recording this song in the studio, and Paul had the "Na na na na na na naaaaaa" outtro, their producer George Martin was concerned. Commercial pop radio wanted songs around 3 minutes. He told Paul "pop songs don't last 7 minutes". Paul simply told him "this one does".
    As explained before, it was written for John Lennon's son Julian to show him love while his parents (John and Cynthia) were breaking up. Paul had it "Hey Jules". Then he thought that sounded like a mouth full of marbles. So he cleaned it up.

    As has been mentioned, Paul wrote this for John;s son Julian, aka "Jules" when his parents (his mom is John;s fisrt wife Cynthia) were going through the divorce. Paul knew it wasn't going to be an esay thing for the wee lad and wanted to give him some encouragement. Paul said later that "Jules" wasn't very easy to sing and be understood correctly. It came out sounding loke "Jude" on the tapes so he just decided to change it to to "Hey Jude" for the finished work.
    We could tell it was an older video 'cause you;re not wearing your cool new "kitty cat ears" headphones.

So I basically hung out with this guy named Bob which I consider a Dad at this point, we would stay up listening to Johhny Cash, The Beatles, He would drink beer and wine, we would just dance to all kinds of stuff every night. We were like the oddest best friends ever for years. But I love this stuff, Jerry Lee, Kenny Rogers you name it. We would spend like 9 hours sometimes just jamming out to songs. you see the sing with Paul McCartney is he used to hit those high notes he was heavily influenced by Little Richard in fact they actually performed together at the same show they would have all these different groups like Roy Orbison I think they even had The Ronettes played with the Beatles not with him but on the same show and Little Richard looks at Paul McCartney and says man you stole that from me huh? Yeah Little Richard was awesome he even had Jimi Hendrix on guitar for a little while but Jimi was stealing the show so Little Richard had to let him go but he knew he was one of the greats they even interviewed him for the film about Jimi Hendrix well that was a good reaction dear hercula next legendary epic masterpiece

    Jayy, glad you were watching the video of this performance. Interesting how this live song sounds so very much like their awesome '68 single studio release. Tell me this Jayy, I can't see the video of them (I know it well), but I'll bet your expression @ 7:37 is the old guy with the flowers in his hair grooving out to this song. Could be wrong, but I always see that expression at that point! LOL! Anyway, do more Beatles dear. It's a little tough to keep them from being blocked as many reactors complain about. Try pausing in the middle briefly to comment, move it back a few seconds, start again and that may do the trick. It seems to work on other Beatles reactors. Awesome song and reaction as always! ✌️😎

    • @GrouchyMarx
      @GrouchyMarx 3 роки тому +1

      @@THEJAYYSHOW No problem. One thing to point out about this song being about, or for John's son Julian that many are telling you. That's only half the story. Paul initially wrote it for Julian over the divorce thing with John and Cynthia, and called it "Hey Jules". Paul later re-wrote it to be more an adult theme and renamed it Hey Jude. John Lennon mentioned this in a video interview and said that he thought the re-write called Hey Jude was more about him meeting Yoko Ono and leaving Cynthia. So yes, it did start out as a song for the young 5 year Julian, but changed into what it is today. In my research I tried to find copies of the first draft of "Hey Jules" and it appears they don't exist, but more likely Paul tucked them away somewhere, so perhaps one day the world can see the changes made from Hey Jules to Hey Jude. BTW, was it the old guy with the flowers in his hair that made you smile? 😁

    "Hey Jude" is a good intro to the Beatles (that's Paul McCartney on lead vocals) as it's one of their last recorded hits. But there are so many more gems by them (in their earlier years) you're in store for, so fasten your seatbelt! Enjoy! BTW: "Jude" was a nickname for John Lennon's eldest son "Julian"... so there's that.

    The Beatles are the deepest rabbit hole there is. Starting with "Please Please Me" and ending with "Get Back". Their influence on music and culture cannot be overstated and is well documented in that vein by pretty much all their peers. They are best enjoyed "by the album" in lieu of "by the song".

    The piano man and lead singer for this one was Paul McCartney. The drummer was Ringo Starr. Both of them are still alive and kicking. The one sitting down with the glasses is John Lennon, and the song is directed to his son Julian Lennon. That's who "Jude" is in this. Paul wrote it for him. Finally, the one next to John is George Harrison. John and George are gone now. George was always my favorite.
