If Marijuana needs to be banned, then Alcohol needs to be x10 as banned.

Potheads don't kill people but pot is illegal. Drunk drivers kill thousands every year but you can buy alcohol almost anywhere. Make that make sense.
Not fair, mate, u comparing two different cases.
Try pothead driver vs drunk driver.
@@DarkestOneful- Pothead drivers are FAR better than drunk drivers and it is a VERY fair comparison!
@@DarkestOneful never heard of someone in a pot rage beating up or killing their family. But you hear about drunks doing both on a regular basis.
If you have a tolerance to both than driving drunk is definitely way worse than driving high. If you are sensitive to either and are "Stoned" while driving it is just as dangerous as being drunk but, the most dangerous is driving while Sleepy (which is a symptom of drinking or smoking).
Personally I just can’t stand being around places that smell like weed. Its gross and harmful to your brain. I think the biggest problem with it is that because it is so commonly used it is having such a negative effect on society. If only a small amount of people used it then you could make the case that they are just doing their thing and not hurting anyone. When you have such a widespread addiction to it, it creates a real dent in the country. Marijuana has been shown to degenerate brain cells over time and lead to early on set dementia. People who use marijuana are less likely to be motivated to find a job or to behave appropriately in society, while being more likely to commit other unrelated crimes.

I am a 63 year old female Republican and I believe it's a lot less harmful than alcohol
I lived in Colorado Springs when they decriminalized it. I was a single man, and I would go to my neighbors apartment and they would smoke and I would drink my beers (I am a truck driver so I can't smoke) and we'd talk. Their very autistic 3 year old boy opened the door and was running out into the very busy street. Me, rather drunkly, noticed this and went and picked his little butt up and brought him back. Nobody else noticed. They were all stoned. I am pretty libertarian, and what other folks do is none of my business. But if my property that I pay for stinks like a skunk, that effects me. If your dog barks at my kids in my yard that effects me. If you're a dude in a dress and you expect me to call you ma'am, that effects me. I don't care what people go do with themselves or other consenting adults. Thankfully, I live in Oklahoma, and I rarely go by a place that stinks like skunk. And when the neighbors dogs start scaring my kids I give my kids some fireworks. If you can't keep your things to yourself and your property, don't expect anyone else to.
@@nimbly1693 & what if that kids parents had been day drinking and passed out and the kid ran out?? Blame the parents. You can enjoy both weed and or alcohol responsibly.
@@rinse3x Most things in excess will be harmful. I have heard of folks dying from drinking to much water. You're free to do as you like, as long as it doesn't effect another person's rights. If the neighbor can let his dogs, in his yard, bark at my autistic son, then I can light off the $53 dollars worth of fireworks I bought in Wyoming in my back yard when they do it. Don't like me scaring your dog? I don't like your dogs scaring my boy. That is where the issue starts. Smoke your stuff. But if you stink up the whole damned apartment complex or whatever, that isn't fair to the neighbors.

Id rather have weed legal everywhere than Alcohol, been around both my whole life and I can say with 100% certainty id rather have a bunch of stoners around than drunks.
Alcohol was banned under the Constitution, and it was a disaster. They wound up having to legalize it again. Not defending the sauce, in fact I'm a recovered alcoholic. But it boils down to the military axiom: never give an order you can't enforce.
I don't believe in the alcohol argument for weed. While it's factually correct, it can still be harmful. I very much dislike the binge drinking culture in my country and I can't say I would be thrilled if weed was added to the mix and abused in a similar albeit less severe way. Still adds to the problem of drug abuse. That being said, certain countries seem to be doing OK with legalisation.. others may not fair so well. I believe in legalising with heavy restrictions and regulation.
@@brucelee12 well, here in Canada, we have legal weed and legal booze, you hear stories of drunks destroying property and causing problems around bars but you never hear that a bunch of stoners went out and trashed the city because their fav team won the championship loll.
When you boil it all down, the government’s sole purpose under the Constitution is to protect our rights. NOT to tell us what we can and cannot do. Laws are supposed to punish those who infringe on the rights of others. It has nothing to do with feelings. But we seem to forget freedom can be dangerous. For example, DUI checkpoints are totally unconstitutional. While trying to prevent DUI is a noble thing, it is totally unconstitutional. Someone will always respond to this by saying what if a drunk driver killed your loved one. I agree that is a tragedy I’ve never experienced. But it goes back to the freedom can be dangerous. If all people were properly punished for infringing upon the rights of others without exception, the United States would be the perfect place.
I'm always on the outside of the conservative realm specifically on this issue.
I never smoked a day in my life until I got back from Afghanistan and couldn't eat or sleep for months on end.
I lost like forty pounds and was withering away. A friend of my brother gave me some cannabis to try.
Immediately I was able to eat again and sleep a full night. It might not be perfect, but I'm convinced I wouldn't be here today if I had not been introduced to it.
After going to war for the country, I feel like the least I can ask for is the freedom to smoke up if I choose to do so.
Thank you for your service, you deserve to light up any day of the week

@@johncox8882only thing about that id say, is a lot of people are denied access to a medical card due to a number of factors, where as if it’s recreational the adult themselves can decide whether or not it’s good for them, doctors do not know everything and often misdiagnose a person they’ve met one time.

And statistically speaking, it does not cause people to become sabotaging because the majority control their alcohol intake. Weed on the other hand makes people lazy, lethargic, and soulless.
I think Charlie has an argument about the practical effect on society. Prohibition was terrible for society and we know that because we tried it
Prohibition created the FBI. How convenient 😉

Allowing the government to tell people what they can or can not put in their body, is way over the line. It is amazing to me that a freedom loving people has allowed their rights to happiness and self-determination to be trampled on like this.
It has now been proven to be a gateway drug.

I’m conservative and I think it should be legal.
It’s more of a Christian stance than a conservative stance to ban weed. I’m against legal marijuana similar to Charlie as a Christian not as a conservative
@@buckeyefan3894 oh okay makes sense. Are you okay with medical?
I do know many Christian’s who are pro medical and many who are not.
As someone that grew up in the shadows of the netherlands where marijuana is legal, let it stay illegal.
It's a blight upon your mind, don't use it if you are under 25 it completely changes your way of thinking while growing up.
It's one of the leading causes of pneumothorax.
It just is not as healthy as people claim it is, but it is still better then alcohol.
You cant ban one without banning the other.
Well if your against legal weed then you need to make alcohol illegal. It is a destructive drink that kills people every day and tear apart families. As a combat veteran smoking a little weed gives me a good night sleep, without it night terrors, cold sweat, and waking in a panic.
I like Charlie Kirk but definitely DISAGREE with him on his viewpoint of marijuana.
Even if it makes people lazy, that's their choice.
People don't like the government telling us what we can and can't do like little children.
Can't these arguments also be applied to alcohol and cigarettes?
and 1000 other things in world
I live in Oregon. Legalizing weed didn't cause any problems! It was the fact Oregon decriminalized METH!!! That's the problem! You don't see ppl stoned out committing crimes, they are sitting on their couch supporting the local pizza place! LOL
I know many people myself included who maintain their jobs, take care of their families, and don't commit crimes. I have veteran friends who use pot for pain from their wounds and to be able to sleep without having flashbacks.
Normally, I agree with you across the board, but not on this subject.
Sell bad drugs and go to jail.
Is the drug bad? If so, make it illegal. Drinking alcohol is the third largest preventable cause of death in the U.S. Citizens are safer without alcoholic drinks. Armed Citizens are also safer.
It should be legal*
Legalize. Or ban alkohol and weed all together 😂
Last time they banned alcohol we got the mob working with the Government, and the FBI to "solve" the problem they created. Just like today they cause the problem with a solution in mind.
I agree and I quit Mary j 9 days ago. Let people decide or make it all illegal including cigs and alcohol
Just because alcohol is worse than weed, doesn’t mean that weed must be legalized because of that. Don’t exasperate a problem that has already existed for more than a century.
Smoking dope is stupid, but it shouldn’t be illegal.
I understand how smoking can be seen as a negative but CBD and THC edibles are a wonderful alternative for people who have pain, trouble sleeping, eating disorders, etc...
I feel it depends on why you smoke or take edibles. Maybe keep it legal for medicinal purposes. Definitely lower it from a class one to a class three misdemeanor.
I agree on most things. This isnt it.
More damage by alcohol than weed how many people die due to drunk driver ? Domestic violence due to alcohol we can go on and on
Legalized bad drugs is not Pro-life. America is Pro-life. America values personal safety.
America values personal responsibility and liberty. Safety is way down the list, my guy.
alcohol next then smoking
then socila meida
then fast food
then pre marital six
Legalize
I was addicted to Xanax for the last 15years really bad they ran my life had to have them up until august 2023 I wanted to quit but couldn't because of withdrawal and Medical marijuana was recommended to me so I got my card and used a combination of flower and gummies to completely quit and get off xans... im now on my 8th month of nothing but pot... I weaned myself down over a couple week period and then just quit them 30days after getting my card I was off Xanax and I feel great sleep great and save alot of $ and dont know if I would have ever quit if not for weed. Im not sure about recreational but definitely should be available medically to everyone in every state.
Good job man!!! Happy for you!
First it smells horrible, bad for the the critters in the environment, it's second-hand smoke, the marijuana-resin coats the Lungs causing Cancer in Lungs over time. Its a depressent, do we really need more Depression in the Country. IT IS A VERY BAD IDEA TO LEGALIZE MARIJUANA. Please don't. TU.
*AS A JEW, I DO NOT HAVE CHRISTIAN HANG-UPS ABOUT WORLDLY ENJOYMENT. IF THE LAW OF MOSES DOES NOT FORBID AN ACT, THEN THE ACT IS ACCEPTABLE.*
Another anti capitalist stance by Kirk. Telling people what they can do with their own bodies is as authoritarian as it gets. You can't believe in liberty and drug prohibition at the same time.
Believing in capitalism and liberty means Pro drugs?🤣
@anacc3257
No, it means as long as people aren't using coercion it's none of your business what they do.
Ok I don’t agree with this one
Uhhhhh. Kids are going to the ER because they're freaking out. It's only real in their head. They don't need narcan, they don't need their stomach pumped. All they needed was a nap. Maybe some pizza.
*I’m a conservative and I'm in love with Mary Jane, she's my main thing!*
Moses climbed on a mountain and talked to God via a burning bush.
I’m very conservative but weed should 100% be legal. I smoke it every day and never miss work, pay my taxes and bills and contribute to extracurricular things after work. If tobacco and alcohol are both legal, weed should certainly be.
yep
What almost everyone in these comments seem to be missing, is that marijuana, unlike alcohol, even when not overdosed on, permanently lowers IQ the more you do it. Only a fool believes that society should have the right to dumb itself down on purpose.
Smoke weed everyday, happy growing 🪴
God made weed. Man made beer. Who do you trust?
Just because smoking weed makes you high doesn’t mean it should be illegal. Alcohol makes people drunk but no one cares and it is legal. I do think smoking weed should be a recreation drug but people should realize that the drug will could cause health issue and make you stupid because you will spend more time smoking then learning or doing other things, like working out. The real problem with legalizing weed is that it makes drugs acceptable and culturally appropriate which leads people to spend more time smoking weed (thus stupider) or people take harder drugs that cause them more harm. If you doubt me, for a year stop smoking and read every time you would normally smoke; I bet you will become smarter.
Alcohol and tobacco (in its chemical infused state today) are far worse for you. You willing to ban them as well?
EXACTLY!
tobacco was and will ALWAYS be worse. I'm for a ban on all tobacco overnight.
Wrong on this one. Still a fan.
Marijuana, like alcohol turns people into idiots and neither one should be legal. People and society in general are better off without them. I look at it this way, if something affects society in a negative way and can be controlled, then it should be up to society to ban it.
so i guess weed is the line

As a past huge pothead, I think it shouldn't be legal. I know, unpopular opinion.
When the made alcohol illegal, they had to create the FBI to deal with the issues they created. Sound familiar?
I think it should be legal but highly regulated.
Just admit you use to have self control.
It is natural. It is relaxing. It isnt addictive. It helps my wife's MS symptoms.
I wish I hadn't spent so much time as a kid with it.
I still enjoy it from time to time.
Firstly, anything can be addictive. Food is addictive, as you can see with skyrocketing obesity numbers. I personally do not like weed. I also do not like spicy food either but that shouldn’t be banned just because I don’t like it. I’m a libertarian and my basic belief is as long as your lifestyle doesn’t interfere with mine, you do you. If we’re going to ban weed, then ban alcohol. I’m not in favor of banning either. It should be regulated and taxed like any other Vice.
@@cainabel615 So it's fair to tax something because you call it a vice? To hell with personal freedom to ingest a plant? In addition TAXATION IS THEFT IN ANY FORM.
Its VERY VERY addictive , twit
@@cainabel615 yes everything. Good job
@@cincinnatusromanus1767 I don’t have a problem with taxes. I have a problem in the way tax money is spent. Giving people tax money for popping out a baby is wrong. Tax money for services that benefit everyone because we all use them is fine. If you don’t want taxes, I’m ok with that, just live in the woods on your own and hunt and gather and don’t use any other resources. Being a plant is irrelevant whether it’s subject to taxes or not. I say grow your own then. So long as you’re not selling it but it’s for your use then that’s your business.
Banning pot = moral socialism. Small government means conservatives value ACTUAL small government.
