Buddy, I have to tell you, I ran across your video as I was researching to see what I could do for my rims, ( as I just got my truck back from one of my sons) and one of my back rims was caked with brake dust severely... This trick absolutely worked and was amazing.... Hats off to ya sir... Very cool.
Been using awesome on rims and grease stains on cars for a while. Awesome will remove everything including baby mamas and bad credit scores. Hence "awesome"
This is a fantastic trick to remove caked-on brake dust. Like the video, I kept the vehicle in the shade, and after spraying, let the vehicle sit for about 15 minutes. It was so easy to get years of brake dust off with an old casino card. Nothing else worked to remove the grim and I didn't want to use any heavy abrasives. The CARD is the trick. Worked like a charm.

That’s a good tip however we as detailers got iron removers that break down caked on brake dust, but be advised not all iron removers are created equal. Some you have to agitate, some work better with less agitation and more dwell time, some just need more volume and pressure from the pressure washer. Sometimes you gotta take the wheel off and use steel wool with a iron remover but it’ll work. I’ve done wheels like this. It’s a pain sometimes good tip.
Speed master wheel brush will work a lot faster than using a card. I have seen people use LA Awesome. Meguiars Wheel Brightener acid cleaner works really fast on wheels that dirty.
25/4: 23, Quicker to whip the wheels off - spray with cheapo WD to loosen the crud & then use the detergent. Does the whole wheel & inside areas that can't be reached. Can inspect inside hidden tyre condition too.
Can break dust melt rim coat, and leave permanent scratches? Brand new car was spitting black/brown fluid from calipers area, and because i didnt have all accesories for pressure washer, inside of rims werent cleaned for about a month. After that month, all dirt in barrel, just left permanent marks of caliper or pads throwing liquid to rim. Only uncoated barrel has the marks. Outside/clear coated section is perfect. Since i picked my car from dealer, was doing this, and i was having to clean bottom of front doors, and probably above rear bumber, because i was afraid to penetrate cars clear coat. But was a black/brown thick liquid. A liquid that if you try to clean with finger on a white cars paint, you will end cleaning with water because its like brown glue… Any ideas? Whatever was, it melted some areas of all 4 rims, where it splashed. Car has 3k miles, and still under warranty
Use Meguiar's Wheel Brightener (diluted from 2 parts water to 1 part Wheel Brightener through 4 parts water to 1 part Wheel Brightener). Do not use Wheel Brightener on polished chrome, polished aluminum, or on anodized wheels. Wheel Brightener is safe on clear coated wheels which are 90% of what comes from car makers in the last 20 years. Get a set of Wheel Woolies for the wheel barrel and an Optimum Wheel and Tire brush for the face of the wheel.
I replaced my Ceramic brake pads with Metalic brake pads now I get this black brake dust, as soon as I get a chance I'm going to go back to Ceramic pads to avoid having the brake black dust.
What kind of spray? I have tried everything and unfortunately was never able to remove brake dust until this method. I’d make a new video with your recommendations after trying. Thank you for your input.
Meguars all wheel cleaner spray on, let dwell few minutes, little agitation and rinse off, that simple. Or wheel acid, or diablo from chemical guys there's several wheel cleaners that will knock that out easily. I do this for a living, trust.
Nice job!...I have a light spotty/speckled baked on "dust" on my rims that no cleaner I've tried so far has worked on.I think your method will work on them, but I think I'm going the handheld steam cleaner route.I tried an upright steamer on a couple spots and it came off pretty quick.
Sorry but this isn't easy and isn't cheap. 10 bottles at the dollar store is $10. With the work you had to do with the card this isn't worth it. The expensive Macquires works but the problem is it's expensive but doesn't require as much elbow grease
Only thing is, you have to get in the corners to do the job completely, and there are 28 sections on 4 wheels, and 56 corners, and a plastic card would need to be replaced by a wire brush or such, so the total job time would take probably 5 mins per section, or about 2 1/2 hours overall. A bit painstaking and laborious, but definitely much more cheaper than a new set of second hand mags, and you retain the mags that match the age of the car.
I used a plastic knife and spoon then I cleaned the rest off. It was super easy and the plastic knife made it easy to get in the cracks. Years of build up sparkling clean.

Is this also for metal from the brakes being worn down too?
I thought it was removing the paint at first, but it was actually bringing back the chrome. lol
Thanks for posting this. Cheer's!!
June 10th 2023 and this video helped me tons. Thanks bro!!! you rock

You can use steel wool on plastic chrome?
@@MrKILLtasticB I’ve never used it on the plastic dipped chrome only metal dipped chrome.

Thanks for the tip. I was just going to pay someone to do this.
Question, would a brush work? Just asking because I think it would be easier to get the corners. I have ordered the cleaner and will try it. Thanks
I’m gonna try this. I’m skeptical about it but I’m gonna try it
Why 5-10 bottles? Can you dilute it or is it acidic?
😳 I think you used the wrong card I think the Gold class American Express works a lot better don't recommend the chime card it will stain 😉
I just don't understand why you don't use a master wheel brush.
Today is available tire cleaner. Used regularly. Brake dust dont get caked on Wheels like this..
Amazing bro! Thanks so much for this. You saved me hella cash with this life hack💪🏾
Thank you definitely been looking for something to work!!
Wala “ thanks for the tip 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I have a Pizza Hut card hope it works !

I just went to Kroger‘s to get some scrubbing pads for this type of shit haven’t used them yet think I’ll take them back 😂💪🏾 good looking Champ
Started laughing when I saw it was a Dominos card but hey it works

You are 💯 I use the same thing for my engine and outside and inside my car and my tires and my rims 👍
Where can I get a dominoes card? I have bad credit
Cool trick bro shinning like a Big Gee

Ok... I wet the wheels, sprayed it on, took a car wash brush and it all came off, in under 1 minute per wheel. They look new again!

Awesome.....literally!!
😂im jus go say that was a ligthbulb moment but bru why not use a small drimal it works and i use that same assum product great job big guy
Me parece que es más fácil limpiarlas si están desmontadas.
Decon from chemical guys work’s amazing.
My boy ate dominos and had some spare time to clean some rims 😅 love that la awesome though
Thank you so much for the tip! I can't take that stuff off.
Looks great man. Thanks. I'm subscribing.
Damn, now I'm craving Domino's
Bro I have this EXACT same car, same EXACT color...with the EXACT same problem with my rims. Thank you!!!!
The V8 deserves a good shoe shine. No problem Fam.
That will take me two days to di it that way
I would say buy a soft detailing brush to agitate the dirt
My man!!!!!! 👍🏾

love the credit card trick
Dope video!
Nice work. Hope you used that Domino’s card to reward yourself afterwards with a hot pizza 🍕.
😂
God forbid this man uses a brush🤣
BRB. I’m gonna go try it
Clever way to sponsor dominoes though😂
I gotta try that in my 40yr old alloys..
He said 5-10 bottles 😂😂😂😂

Very nice, I got a few APC’s that’ll work. But this is good
Thanks for watching! What’s APC? I’m here to learn.

this was a great dominos promo! 🤣 but still this was wicked hack
Thanks bro
0000 steel wool works even better
I just subscribed. 😊
keep up the work
All you need is steel wool
I think that would leave scratches but I’ve never tried it.
Yea it’s coming off but with your clear coat 😂
I sold this car to my mechanic. The rims are still shining. If you have concerns, I’d recommend a spot check before applying to your entire rim.
I use this it works but not with a card that’ll take forever 😂😂
What did u use with it a brush?
Brillo pads work 2
Awesome bro

good looking.
Mcguire's wheel brightner And a power washer. Done. I'd have all those wheels looking brand new in minutes.

I Would Try A Bristle Rim Brush, it is Easier Because You Can Adjust it And Scrub.
That’s too much work. Try using Flash Brown Royal, sprat it on, lightly agitate with a brush and rinse it off.
That’s Right!!!
Wheel acid!!!
Nah wtf this scratched tf out my rim
2 hours doing that
This is too much effort. Just buy a product like Iron Out and you are done.
Nah man you doing it wrong, I do used it but that oven cleaner it work better man!?? Try it out!
