  • In this succulent refresh I am revamping an old arrangement, propagating a Kalanchoe tomentosa and Aeonium "Sunburst" as well as trying to rescue my large Crassula Ovata "Jade".

I love succulents but as plants go, they don't always love me. About a year in a half ago I received a large succulent arrangement. It has slowly outgrowing its pot and now needs a plant rescue. The large Jade plants is starting to look ill. Besides suffering from some sort of mold, I have also noticed a couple mealy bugs and yellow wrinkled leaves.
Along with the Jade there are two leggy Kalachoe tomentosa that need to be propagated and a large Aeonium decorum "Sunburst" in need of a new look. Propagating the panda plant is pretty easy, but this sunburst is posing a bit of a problem. Check out this plant journey, with the ups and downs of plant propagation.

Ok, Jade: Cuttings need to completely dry before planting, at least a week before potting / otherwise they will rot.

Thank you so much for this video. I wasn't sure if I should spray my panda plant leaves, and couldn't find too much about it online.

Thank you so much for this video!! I've been looking for the panda for forever and I finally found 1 last week. I've had some pretty decent success with propagation of other succulents put was scared to even try with my panda. Happy growing!!

I NEED HELP 😵 LOL I'm going crazy over my plant ! First off let me just say I have had this type of plant for a good while now , however it has taken me a long time trying to identify it because when I purchased it the leaves had been curled under which I thought was just how the plant looked , which I now know isn't the case and actually means it's has been unhappy . However it always has looked healthy to me so I always just thought that was how the plant looked so here's my dilemma ... I had repotted my kalanchoe tomentosa which has always been fairly small , when doing so I noticed that after a while it started to not do so well (now i know why that was) but the plant had new tiny stem and leaf growth so I was able to cut the tiny growth from the otherwise dying plant and have salvaged it . The only way I was able to really keep it alive because of how small it is was to put it in water which has been fine for the most part but then I noticed that the tiny stem was getting to soggy because of how small it is making it very delicate . So now I don't know what to do and not sure the best approach to care as there isn't much information online about my unique situation . I'd love to send a picture for reference as I am kinda still very new to all this and I'm very eager to learn . I would greatly appreciate any recommendations that could help me to best save this cute tiny plant guy that I love and would be happy to send a reference picture to better help my situation .

How often do you water the panda plant cuttings? I have a cutting I’ve watered once since potting it last week and not sure if I should water more to promote root growth or less or the same as a rooted succulent.

So for the panda plant, you let it scab then put it in the soil? (The beheaded part) Also, for the leaves do you let them scab before setting them on the soil tray? Do you spray it to keep it damp?

How are your props now? I noticed the same thing you did with mine and now I don’t even let them see water or they will shrivel up, kinda crazy, and I had to water root my Aeonium in the summer, it wouldn’t grow roots in the soil

You mentioned not spraying the kalanchoe leaves. What did you end up doing instead? Did you water it at all and how? Thank you!

My aeonium take forever to root too. I use rooting hormone and don't water until it has roots.

I'm trying to propagate my panda plants, and so far only one leaf had gotten roots. The rest are not. One's that looked yellowy and falling off the main plant, I took too to see if they would propagate and they have not. So i'm wondering if those yellowy ones would ever. And if the baby ones would too?
