I always thought the 6 powers are really the only thing cp9 can learn because of the very nature of haki. Haki is will, pure and simple, and cp9 is a pile of brainwashed child soldiers. You can't really spend a child's entire life breaking down their minds and wills to be subservient, then expect them to impress their will on the world. So you can only have either obedient 6 powers users or unruly haki users

I always just assumed 6 powers was a fighting style for assassins. Since assassination is one of CPs specialty it makes sense to learn something that would help in there missions. Haki is more used for standard fighting which id imagine CP wouldn't be doing, excluding when the straw hats choose to invade on their territory

I think Jango's bounty is very underestimated. Liam has been the primary champion of reminding us that bounty's are not power levels and I think Jango is someone the Cross Guild would want to target and make an example of. The idea of a pirate changing sides would be something they'd want to absolutely punish. I think a funny joke would be Jango having a top tier bounty.
I dont think people realize the significance of the marines having a bounty. It goes hand in hand really well with the fact that Luffy is a yonko now. It's literally illustrating that (not just the pirate world) but the world in general is going through a power shift. The otherwise legitimate government is now being slowly upheaved by pirates and those that do not agree with the state of the world/status quo. It's a literal beginning to a drastic change that was signified with the "return" of Joyboy. Oda really did an amazing job with the macro portion of the storytelling here.
Interestingly enough it looks like the Marines' bounties were based on star system like with Doffy at Dressrosa (you could make them out from the panels in that chapter ) It's at times like this that I wish bounty hunters had been more fleshed out in the story. Imagine two or three legendary bounty hunters with Admiral or Commander level strength who target exclusively Yonkou level targets now having their sights set on Marines instead...they're former employers. Or a bounty hunting guild now adding Marines to possible targets. The tension would be insane

I think zoro and franky + his family are the closest we ever got to actual bounty hunting. One could argue that mihawk, crocodile, boa and the other warlords got money out of it as well. Otherwise maintaining a pirate crew with ship wouldn't be profitable for boa.
The reason Commodore rank seems inconsistent (Pudding Pudding being weak as hell) is because marine ranks in branches are different to the ones assigned in the headquarters. Oda confirmed in a SBS that a Marine rank of a branch would be reduced by 2-3 roles if the same person was transferred in the headquarters (e.g. Morgan should be compared to a Lieutenant/ Lieutenant Commander rather than to other Captains of HQ such as Very Good, Shuu or Sharinguru).
Makes sense. They're out in the far reaches of the ocean, don't get inspected that often for people to know about any abuses of power (Morgan) and there's probably a lot of nepotism and knowing 'important' people on the island/s around that matters more. The HQ is probably just happy that someone is out there keeping order, as long as they don't get complaints.
Hold up! When did Smoker lose to Ace? I seem to recall that duel of theirs in Alabasta having ended inconclusive, because they were basically immune to each other's Devil Fruits and so neither could do much of anything to gain the upper hand.
I dont think Akainu should have a bounty higher than Garp (Strongest marine , Marine Hero) Sengoku (Former Fleet Admiral , Inspector General , Rival to Garp) Shanks ( B 4,048,900,000) Big Mom (B 4,388,000,000) That doesn't make a lot of sense but the rest are pretty agreeable

I know right but put your self in a bounty hunter's place, basically you'll target people with minimal bounty cause it's easier, if a bounty hunter was strong enough to capture some one with over 1 b or even 500 m or plus, you can do something for yourself like being a captain pirate or even a yonko depending on how much you're strong, you won't take risks attacking someone as strong as an admiral or a yonko. I get your point though it would be cool to have some more bounty hunters who operate in the new world.

I think it was Mihawk who had the idea of putting bounties to Marines, he was called the Marine-hunter before his bounty was frozen. I think crocodile then gave accurate bounties and Buggy pays the people who manage to take those Marines down.

This is actually huge, as Robin said pirates don't fight marines directly, so this is the perfect way for more pirates to get involved with the marines to hunt them down. It directly screws over the status quo of the marines controlling the whole world. Not to mention the revolutionaries will be able strike against more overtly thanks to the marines dedicating more resources to pirates interfering with any given warship that happens to pass by. I would mention that bounty hunters could play more of a role but let's be real, when was the last time we saw a strong bounty hunter? The last one I can think of is Mr.1. Who else could possibly show up at this stage. But I maintain the position that this is a huge paradigm shift.
Speaking of bounties, it's interesting that in this most recent chapter Mihawk's new bounty is set, and he's higher than 3 emperors (Luffy, buggy and Blackbeard) and much higher than his fellow former warlords.
I love this. Buggy's capitol, Crocodile's tactics, and Mihawk's muscle. Depending on the power of that new group, the Cross Guild might just prove Fujitora's disbanding of the Warlords to backfire.

I really like this kind of videos, but its important to always remember that its hard to be always logical with this kind of power leveling in a story this large, i think bounties helps us to have a general idea about the progress of our characters in comparison. Constantly updating everys characters bounty would be really hard and would take a lot of space of the manga.
For pirates it is factually untrue to think that they are assigned merely due to strength. They are other factors at play, Coribo may not be that strong, but him and his brother were exceptionally vicious and violent and as such their bounties reflected it. We have yet to understand the intricacies of how the ranking for Marines works.

Shanks open challenged everyone on marineford, and Sengoku (fleet admiral at the time) didn't step up. It might be close to Yonko level, but you're not telling me that Akainu beats Shanks, or Kaido, or Big mom

Marine and Pirate bounties are made by two different companies. They can account different factors while setting up the bounty, we dont know either formula. But im pretty sure its NOT about the strenght of individual. Otherwise Luffy would propably get Kaido bounty, not a mere 3 billion. Luffy bounty is funny considering he took Kaido on his own...

Bat garp will never be targeted by hunters like for example reyleigh. They are there to have a significant level of amount so that other people will follow them.
Smoker vs. Ace was a draw. Ace himself said that if they fought then it would never end. And haki wasn't a thing at the time so, if anything Smoker had more chances in that fight because of his jitte. Caesar didn't beat Smoker either. He rather seemed scared of Smoker and sent Law after him. Even when he did manage to capture him, Smoker wasn't in his own body.
Smoker is a L now, he got exposed by Doflamingo and Luffy. His DF gives him no offensive capabilities. Boa hancock was able to stop him easily. Maybe you are right, the fight between Fire and Smoke will never end, but Ace actually has some haki experience.

I know right but put your self in a bounty hunter's place, basically you'll target people with minimal bounty cause it's easier, if a bounty hunter was strong enough to capture some one with over 1 b or even 500 m or plus, you can do something for yourself like being a captain pirate or even a yonko depending on how much you're strong, you won't take risks attacking someone as strong as an admiral or a yonko. I get your point though it would be cool to have some more bounty hunters who operate in the new world.

I think it was Mihawk who had the idea of putting bounties to Marines, he was called the Marine-hunter before his bounty was frozen.
I think crocodile then gave accurate bounties and Buggy pays the people who manage to take those Marines down.
Bounty Revelation of character is definitely one of the best and hypest moments in One Piece.

Reverse Zorros bounty 1100001100 you get 0011000011, convert it from binary to a normal number and you get 195. Chapter 195 is called "Mr. Bushido" and its all about Zorro.
That makes a lot of sense, and when I saw his bounty I felt that the “01”s in his bounty were placed way too specifically.

This is actually huge, as Robin said pirates don't fight marines directly, so this is the perfect way for more pirates to get involved with the marines to hunt them down. It directly screws over the status quo of the marines controlling the whole world. Not to mention the revolutionaries will be able strike against more overtly thanks to the marines dedicating more resources to pirates interfering with any given warship that happens to pass by. I would mention that bounty hunters could play more of a role but let's be real, when was the last time we saw a strong bounty hunter? The last one I can think of is Mr.1. Who else could possibly show up at this stage. But I maintain the position that this is a huge paradigm shift.
Speaking of bounties, it's interesting that in this most recent chapter Mihawk's new bounty is set, and he's higher than 3 emperors (Luffy, buggy and Blackbeard) and much higher than his fellow former warlords.
I love this. Buggy's capitol, Crocodile's tactics, and Mihawk's muscle. Depending on the power of that new group, the Cross Guild might just prove Fujitora's disbanding of the Warlords to backfire.

To be fair, CP9's training might have to do with the fact that not everyone can use advanced Haki or even Haki as far as I am aware.
Everyone can use haki, they just have to learn. I think even advanced forms can be learned by everyone with enough training, except for conquers.
I really think this that garp is stronger than Roger acutally because If Roger was a rival of WB than let's say Roger fought both WB & siki with his full strength & sengoku fought let's say kaido but still i don't think anyone accept garp even stands a chance against rock also the fact that he is grandfather of luffy just proves more of it because even Roger never tried to defeat him

I really like this kind of videos, but its important to always remember that its hard to be always logical with this kind of power leveling in a story this large, i think bounties helps us to have a general idea about the progress of our characters in comparison. Constantly updating everys characters bounty would be really hard and would take a lot of space of the manga.

For pirates it is factually untrue to think that they are assigned merely due to strength. They are other factors at play, Coribo may not be that strong, but him and his brother were exceptionally vicious and violent and as such their bounties reflected it. We have yet to understand the intricacies of how the ranking for Marines works.

Marine and Pirate bounties are made by two different companies. They can account different factors while setting up the bounty, we dont know either formula. But im pretty sure its NOT about the strenght of individual. Otherwise Luffy would propably get Kaido bounty, not a mere 3 billion. Luffy bounty is funny considering he took Kaido on his own...

Smoker is a L now, he got exposed by Doflamingo and Luffy. His DF gives him no offensive capabilities. Boa hancock was able to stop him easily. Maybe you are right, the fight between Fire and Smoke will never end, but Ace actually has some haki experience.
