When we moved to Hawaii in 1973, the Halekalani was our cut through to the beach. Emma Veary singing in the evenings, my mom loved to sit on the beach and listen to her. There was a beach back there then.
Love the presentation ! Beautiful buffet ! Alot of variety ! Love the japanese breakfast ! Excellant breakfast on a rainy day ! Mahalo for sharing ! Stay cosy & warm ! Safe Travel !
What a beautiful, comforting, pleasant resort environment. ***Delicious-looking, high quality fare! Imagine a 4-5 day stay here!. The amenities, room beauty - etc., must be soft dynamite. What did Mel Brooks say? "It's good to be King." Love to see you both..
Another Hawaii adventure. Yipee!! The buffet look delicious. Definitely worth the price. The birds seemed to enjoy it too. Can't wait for the next chapter.
I live here and didn't know they had a breakfast buffet... but you gotto try the Sunday buffet if ever your are here during the weekend! Expensive but well worth it! mahalo for sharing! Keep up the good work!!!
I just wanted to say I am enjoying your videos so much, that I’m starting from the beginning(2016) to watch. I have lived in a few of the cities YALL been at and I never knew some of the places were there! Keep posting your travels. Love it
The Halekulani has been our go to hotel on Oahu since 1976. My Uncle was married there. The evening music is delightful, the pool is small but lovely with cold towels and fruit passed in the afternoon. Aloha nui 🌺
Beautiful location and view. The tree looks similar to the type of tree located on Maui, Lahaina that survived the fire. Now I know what an authentic Japanese breakfast is. Did not know Miso Soup, vegetables and tofu is a typical breakfast. Surprised I did not see Poi offered. After this, the omelet, bacon, pastries and fruit looks so much more normal. HA! Thank you for a Hawaiian buffet breakfast experience!
H Bill and Lisa. the House Without a Key breakfast buffet looked delicious. The rain just added to the scenery which was beautiful. You're both so lucky to take trips like that. Take care guys.
I love “House Without A Key” also for the night time music & drinks. I have been blessed to both stay there & eat there quite a few times. Glad you enjoyed.
Been to Orchids a few times .... but "House Without a Key" looks quite impressive, too! Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to that bakery across the street. 😍
Welcome Back to Beautiful Waiks🏝Aloha Bill&Lisa🌺 Awesome beachfront Halekulani🥂 oh yess da Price is Right for their Buffet ono quality grines😋 Definitely see yall on da nex one guys💕🤙
Another most entertaining video, Bill and Lisa, thanks for sharing. Was wondering if you generally prefer buffets over a regular restaurant, due to the variety?
I've never had the Brunch there, only the Sunday Brunch and Afternoon Tea at Orchids. This one looks like a nice buffet. The Japanese jook looked good.
House without a key for daily buffet is great. Some would say a better deal than Orchids on the weekends if you don’t care about the seafood they serve at Orchids. Recently tried Orchids for dinner (not a buffet) and it was amazing. One of the most relaxing dinners we’ve had in a long time. Service and staff were great and the food was amazing. Definitely not cheap but we already have plans to go back soon.
My favorite hotel to stay at and agree the daily buffet at House Without a Key is delicious. Try the mai tais at sunset with the coconut cake or dinner.
Awesome goody adventure in my home state! It's good that you can visit some Waikiki buffets and we can see if it's worth it. Kind of pricey but good review. Wish you could have brought Erin with you!🤙🏽🌞😎
The buffet looked amazing. Could you please explain the reasoning for putting lemon on the papaya. I've never heard of that. Thank you. Thanx for taking us along. Safe travels.
1) I love miso soup too! Always have. 2) Bill, Natto is the whole fermented soybeans themselves. The taste of Natto is singularly ... well, vile, but then again I have eaten Balut, so there we are. 🤢 3) Furikake (pronounced, Foo-ree -kah-kay) is a great salt substitute too meaning it is not just for hot, fluffy, fresh rice
You got a Japanese style toilet in your house? Great! Are the instructions only in Japanese, too? I figure that way it is an authentic Japanese toilet!
The Halekulani is one of Waikīkīʻs famous luxury hotels. The original hotel was built in the 1880ʻs but the coplex was rebuilt in 1984. The reason there are so many outstanding Japanese dishes in the buffet and the fancy toilets is because the Halekulani is now owned by a Japanese company. The House Without a Key is historically famous and one of Hawaiʻiʻs best restaurants, and the beachside scene with the tree lying on its side is a stage where Hawaiian musicians and well-known hula dancers perform at night, which is really beautiful (when itʻs not raining).
Nah 😂 I still preferred Dukes breakfast buffet for 1/2 the price and almost the same menus. This buffet just more pastries and desserts but I am not really into sweet treats. No way hahaha
I traveled a ton non reving when I worked for a airline but you 2 are the kings! What's your biggest paycheck deduction for 2 weeks worth of flights? I think I hit $300 once
@billandlisa how much is Heathrow? I remember Mexico was like $55 each way for boarder tax but this was in the late 90s . A RT to Amsterdam was $110 on NW!
We’re spoiled in Hawaii as you can see a rainbow somewhere on the island almost daily but after a hard rain like this they are really vibrant rainbows almost cartoon like.
@billandlisa I loved your vlog on the breakfast buffet! It spurred memories of when my family came to Waikiki back in the 1970's and my dad was so cheap he didn't want to check out the hotel buffet during the week. He always was looking for fresh sashimi and despite me telling my dad to try the hotel buffet he refused until the day we were flying out. To his horror he saw mountains of fresh raw tuna and no matter how hard he tried he couldn't eat all of it. Oh how he cried. Rest of us could only laugh. Thank you for your enjoyment of breakfast!
Hi Tom! Thanks for sharing your Dad's buffet story. Too bad there wasn't UA-cam back then, he could've found a review on the buffet to see how it is. lol
Your lucky to explore different venues but me personally NEVER would pay 52 bucks for a buffet I've made enough to pay it but would never sorry just me.😊
Hate to be a DeeDee Downer on this one….but 52 bucks for this buffet seems a tad excessive. Of course prices adjusted for the islands but still. Is it 52 bucks for dinner too ? Prolly not.
For context, a fast food meal in Hawaii will cost you $15-20 so keep that in mind when thinking about what you’re getting for $52 here. Is it 3x better than McDonalds? Emphatic yes.
$52 for any buffet is expensive, but that doesn’t mean you should waste so much food. Lisa had 3 plates, the 2nd of which had like 10 items of deserts. You both tasted some of them and like usual you left most items there. Such a waste just to film a YT video. Please do better, set a better example. Take your daughter Erin out more for vlogging and maybe give Lisa a break, please. Erin does a nice job. My wife and I just watch now to count how much food is wasted. We don’t need details on every single item in a restaurant.
Thanks for having us along on this buffet ! Every thing looked delicious and I like the buffets cleanliness. Great job on your selections!😊
Thank you, June!
Thank you both for taking us along. Love Hawaii!!! Safe travels. ❤❤❤
You guys sure do get around! Be sure to go Foodland and get your Poke' Bowl Hahaha!
Beautiful location, delicious looking buffet. 👍👍
Thank you so much, Sue! 👍

So cool all that you are blessed to experience
I love how the birds come into the restaurant. ❤

Thanks Gail! We love it too! It was a great way to start the day.
Thanks for sharing your experience ❤
What a beautiful, comforting, pleasant resort environment. ***Delicious-looking, high quality fare! Imagine a 4-5 day stay here!. The amenities, room beauty - etc., must be soft dynamite. What did Mel Brooks say? "It's good to be King." Love to see you both..
Thanks Karen! I remember that quote! lol
Whoooo hooo!! Let’s go! ❤

Thanks for sharing your memories, the Halekulani looks like a great resort!
Food looked good and interesting. 😢rain. Enjoy travel safe. You lucky people….
We were there two weeks ago. It rained a lot. It was also not as crowded as usual.

So true, Joe!
Well when we win the lottery we'll go where you go. Anyway great to go on these adventures with you and your family.
Another most entertaining video, Bill and Lisa, thanks for sharing. Was wondering if you generally prefer buffets over a regular restaurant, due to the variety?
Thanks Alan! We enjoy both buffets and restaurants, and everything in between. lol
I've never had the Brunch there, only the Sunday Brunch and Afternoon Tea at Orchids. This one looks like a nice buffet. The Japanese jook looked good.
We'll try the Sunday brunch one of these days. We really enjoyed this one.
Beautiful…just beautiful! Word explorers! I would still be jet lagged from Japan! 😊
We're professional jet laggers, so we good. lol
Wonderful! Lots of Japaners and Asian food I'm not acquainted! I wish i could go to Hawaii, and there, too!

Would like to check out Orchid's Sunday buffet one of these days. Nice to know their dining option is amazing.
Omg I'm drooling
💜
My favorite hotel to stay at and agree the daily buffet at House Without a Key is delicious. Try the mai tais at sunset with the coconut cake or dinner.
We’ll have to do that next time!
Love the Japanese influence in this buffet. 🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦 looking for free samples.
Awesome goody adventure in my home state! It's good that you can visit some Waikiki buffets and we can see if it's worth it. Kind of pricey but good review. Wish you could have brought Erin with you!🤙🏽🌞😎
The family will be with us in the upcoming December trip (to Hawaii). Stay tuned!
U2….adorable 💕
The buffet looked amazing. Could you please explain the reasoning for putting lemon on the papaya. I've never heard of that. Thank you. Thanx for taking us along. Safe travels.
Something we've picked up from locals years ago. For us, it brings out the fruit's natural sweetness. Give it a try next time.
@Iris.J.G and I ate at the Dennys at the beginning of your video. We were just saying we need a return visit. Thank you for taking us along.
Thanks for joining us, guys!
Wow you Guys sure get around
I’m impressed
lol
You were just in Japan 🇯🇵
Loved the video the buffet looked amazing
I know exactly where that is
Thanks James!
1) I love miso soup too!
Always have.
2) Bill, Natto is the whole fermented soybeans themselves. The taste of Natto is singularly ... well, vile, but then again I have eaten Balut, so there we are. 🤢
3) Furikake (pronounced, Foo-ree -kah-kay) is a great salt substitute too meaning it is not just for hot, fluffy, fresh rice

Neither of us are natto fans, but my sister loves it. lol
@@billandlisa Your Sis loves it?
Bloody hell! 😳
Tell her she is a hearty soul indeed!

Nah 😂 I still preferred Dukes breakfast buffet for 1/2 the price and almost the same menus. This buffet just more pastries and desserts but I am not really into sweet treats. No way hahaha

We only pay for international airport taxes. That said, flying out of LHR is the most expensive.

Hallo ihr lieben ich hoffe es geht euch gut.😁

Can you explain in more detail the exotic food
After the rain? I bet there was rainbows
