- Repairing the problem of bar oil leaking out from behind the muffler through a casting hole.
this is the first time I have tried to fix this and it appeared to work.
parts available here www.farmertec.com/?parent_use...
Excellent video, going to go see if that is my problem with my 250C, will investigate.
Thanks very informative one of your subscribers in Melbourne Victoria, good to know information
cool to know your in Melbourne, I am in ballarat
Very good solution to the problem..... would advise you to put some thread locking agent on the M6 bolt for 2 reasons. 1. Oil could still leak past the threads and the locking agent will prevent that and ...2. The vibration created by most chainsaws could cause the M6 to loosen. 👍
cheers, will consider that for the next one
Thank you my friend! Subbed
Welcome!
great tip, thanks.
No problem!
Haven't had a chance to pull mine apart yet, but mine only leaks if I have the saw off and sitting upright. If I lay it bar side down (right side if you're looking down the saw) it doesn't leak. Is that similar to yours?
could be a leaky cap
is your bar hard nose for that 250?
No just a laminated roller nose
Dude.. should have just called your stihl dealer. Was probably a $1 part to replace.
Part not available. Would have had to buy the whole plastic casing
Shouldn't be here some kind of vent or something? Because screw will not vent
No it is just a passage left over from casting the plastic that is plugged with with a little plastic plug
