Years after and I am still reeling from his loss. He was among the most talented vocalists I have had the honor of listening to. He was one of the singers I wanted to work with after graduating when I was a voice major. However, I changed majors and...life goes on. His rendition of the simple songs Amarilli Mia Bella and Ombra Mai Fu were stunning! The man oozed confidence and sex appeal while bringing the most amazing and moving performances (I am a straight man with a wife and kids by the way. I just couldn't describe it any other way.)!
Some people just dazzle us with talent and charisma. This Russian baritone was one of them, and I have found it upsetting watching the 2019 BBC Cardiff Singer of The World competition realising that we will never see this extraordinary man again. RIP Mr Hvorostovsky, you are very much missed. 🌷🌷🌷
