Surf guitar God Dick Dale had a crush on Lori Collins, while he was hanging around the studio he was getting pointers from Larry Collins, Larry Collins possibly influence guitar God Dick Dale. Just impossible thought and I think it's true. Also that guitar Larry Collins is playing is almost 60 lb clear sky. Go to Wikipedia on the Collins kids and you can learn about that guitar. And why the hell aren't they in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They put R&B performers and rap performers in there and Country performers in there. That's pure old school rock and roll

Larry was 14 here and already a veteran performer. He was a guitar protégé of the King of the Strings, Joe Maphis, who also performed on this show. Larry's guitar is a Mosrite double neck, the second one ever built. Joe Maphis played the first one. If his high energy hurt the act, Tex Ritter would have had him dial it back a bit. This was in 58, and they were competing with early rock and roll acts. They were a very popular act then.
