Both of Lorrie and Larry Collins are in heaven together and I miss them so much and today I'm huge fan of theirs and they were wonderful to listen to
I was so sad to hear of Larry's passing. I had only discovered The Collins Kids on UA-cam a month previously. Such great talent.

Lorri Collins passed away a few years ago. She was only in her 70s. She had an accident, fell off a stage.
Formidable duo et quel guitariste 👍
Lorrie was Ricky Nelson's first love and the two wanted to marry. The collective parents thought the teens too young and that matrimony would kill Ricky's teen idol career. Lorrie did run off and marry her manager, a move that deeply hurt Ricky. I read that he said later in life Lorrie was his true love.

the kid certainly is affectionate to his sister. she eloped with her manager at 16. the kid was so wired he overpowered anyone with him on stage no matter how good the other person was.

She eloped, because she was pregnant with Ricky Nelson's kid, but she had a botched abortion and then got married very quickly. She was the one that got away from Ricky.
Larry's dancing around wasn't just an act. Guitar came naturally to him and from the first day he got a guitar and learned his first chords that's just how he expressed himself when he played. Just the outcome of a hyperactive kid and the joy of music!
Weird that he became a nobody. Must have been the obnoxious bouncing around.

Larry is only a few years older than I am and I can remember sitting in front of our TV, with my parents , watching the Collins Kids!...He was all over the place...nobody knew anything about ADD, or ADHD, in those days..Our parents just let us play outside..OR, gave us guitars and said ..Have fun!..Just sayin'!

I have to admit, I can't lie, but-it perturbs me that they did a lot of cover versions. With that said, they are talented, and gifted. I just wished that their musical output had been more original.

There was another false statement that the collins kids taught chuck Berry to play guitar. Honestly where do you all get your information from. I know you like to make things up because it makes you feel like you know something when you really know nothing. Now the facts. Ira Harris chucks friend showed him some technics on guitar in 1952 that would become chucks style
We all know Chuck got it from a kid who traveled back to the 50s from the future, and heard it on a phone call from his cousin.

It's only creepy in your sick mind do you think they loved and lustted each other on stage. I'm afraid I never seen any thing wrong with the act it was risky but not creepy it's a stage performance like acting and that's what they did on stage at that time. But not nowadays as people with sick minds would acuse them of sleeping with each other. As there was no sex candles much to your disappointment. Even in all the years they performed together.

Very talented duo and eager to give a good show but Larry Collins runs and jumps around way to much and he is a distraction because everyone else even Lorrie pretty much stand still and sing.

Perhaps you need to watch him play "flying fingers" with his mentor and teacher the great Joe Mathis. Obviously Larry Hero worshipped him and had an identical Mosrite made. Later in his career he reverted to a single neck guitar.
So he could have his first and last names on each neck, and in deference to his guitar mentor who played one. Also, it was an attention getter.

It's Rockabilly, which was one of the chief forms of Rock N Roll, at the beginning, along with rhythm & blues.
She didn't dump him. His parents got involved saying they were too young & also it would have been detrimental to his 'teen idol' status. Ricky never really got over her

To be honest: it is a funny rendition of the ol' JLL classic. Nice to see them doing such kind of tunes. Still like it more when Larry said:"mhm feels terrible!" instead of "feels good".

While I will say; That's a great act. But I question it. Is that kid really playing the guitar ? I ask because it's a two neck guitar. That I know of very few people know how to play a two neck guitar. I'm gonna say, it takes a lot of practice to play that good. He's too young to possible be that good on a two neck guitar. That's why I question. Hey I could be wrong, but I'm sure I'm right.

It's him playing all right. It you are still sceptical. check on him playing his double neck Mosriite special with his mentor, Joe Maphis. 'Flying fingers' or "Under the double eagle' .
Yes the kid’s playing it and the double neck changes nothing about it. What he’s doing is the same thing he’d do on a standard guitar.
A double neck requires no special technique. They can be a 12 over 6 (Jimmy Page) a 6 over 4 (guitar over bass) or like this one a short scale (tuned an octave up) over a standard 6.
Only thing about a double neck is it’s extra weight and the varying heights.plays the same, same skill,
I’ve seen other videos where he does play both necks. By the way you obviously don’t play guitar, you can tell by his fingering and chord progressions he can play. YOU CANNOT.

Then again, as I look back now, I probably had a cheap guitar too. I don't know. I gave it up...
