WTH! Never heard of this dude before in my life. What is he, 12? Pure showmanship and great talent. Again, only playing 3-4 chords. Early rock was so simplistic musically, the magic came from the showmanship of those playing those simple chords. This kid was amazing.

I'm another oldie who never saw or heard of this kid. This kid was dynamite, all that dancing AND playing the hell out of his guitar. Totally steals the show just by his presence and energy AND is humble enough to let the others on stage do their thing. Could upstage Elvis and Chuck Berry musically and performance-wise (not voice though at his young age). Awesome!

@@0biwan77 I believe this pre-dates Chuck Berry (and Michael Jackson’s Moon Walk, for that matter.) This was recorded in 1959, so Fats Domino…zzzzZZZZZzzz… O, 'scuse me, I dozed off fer a minit) would be Kid Collins contemporary, not Chuck Berry.
Berry appeared on the national scene in the early ’60’s with a signature dance he called the "Duck Walk." If truth be told, I’d bet some real foldin’ money that Chuck Berry (and Michael Jackson, too!) watched this 12 year old kid dancin’ up a storm whilst flat pickin’-and somehow not trippin' over them old timey guitar cables…

Ive asked myself that same question a hundred times when I watch these old videos. Raw talent. They sure as hell dont need a recording studio to sound good. Everything sounds the same now. It's no wonder considering there's just a few major recording companies and a handful of so called songwriters. The days of artists being songwriters, true musicians and performers are pretty much a relic of a bygone era.
