What is the safe procedure when completing a left turn at an advanced green arrow and then the arrow turns yellow?

I was not brought out drive intersections because the ones I had do not have patience and argue over the red and yellow lights. So I will try to get the best ideas I can from seeing it done by films. You see if they can not have patience and explain it and realize yellow is a red light during driving tests. I might be in a car one time a month.

That is why you turn at a safe enough gap
If you can prove you turned when they had a red youd obviously have the right of way. The thing is proof. 95% of insurance companies dont give a fuck about that they automatically assume the left turning driver is at fault which is wild.
What if ur at intersection and the light turns yellow and red. But you cannot make the turn because of oncoming traffic
Oncoming traffic should be stopping then since they have a red but you still need to make sure they actually are stopping and not trying to catch the yellow because even if they are wrong both of you are getting hurt
@@jayasmrmore3687 "Catching a yellow" and stopping for a red light makes no sense. Yellow means slow down, and if the light is red BEFORE the oncoming traffic enters it, then they ran a red light. There is a thing called "Clearing an intersection" and you do so when safely, what you just said makes no sense.

@@curto201 maybe it is obvious to defensive drivers and good drivers as it should be but I’ve seen so many dashcam videos of drivers who either have the mindset of “let them hit me I’ll get paid” or just automatically assume that the car will stop on the fresh red signal and turn in front of them. Distracted drivers also exist.
And I would argue that the car in front of you has no business being in the middle of the intersection if they can't proceed through it. No part of the car should be stopped in the crosswalk either. Crosswalks are for pedestrians. Wait behind the stop line. A green light is no defense for blocking an intersection.
It’s not blocking. They’ll make the turn as the light goes red.
@@jayasmrmore3687 What if they can't because half a dozen vehicles (or one bus) turned right on to the same street as the light changed and stops for traffic. Now you're stuck out in the middle of the intersection. You wait behind the stop line.

You have the right of way once it’s red assuming they didn’t enter the intersection but if you see that someone isn’t stopping for red then still wait first.
@@jayasmrmore3687 Right of way can only be yielded, not had. The rules of the road only tell you when to stop, never when to go.
