Hi Sir, Your teaching is really helpful and great, could you please do a video on how to keep the car in the center of the road, most of the new drivers have problems in deciding car left and right side corners.
Hello! I'm glad to hear that you find my teaching helpful. A video on keeping the car centered on the road sounds like a great idea, especially for new drivers who struggle with staying in their lane. I'll definitely consider creating a video on this topic to provide clear guidance and tips for maintaining proper lane positioning. Stay tuned for more educational content, and if you have any other suggestions or questions, feel free to share. Happy driving!
Nice video I also want to see how u switch your leg from brake to accelator while turning on intersection. Please make more videos of intersection while turning on green light and when there is yellow light we have to stop.
I've seen so many drivers have an accident because they have no idea about left turn. The one making a Right turn has a right of way than the guy going left on a Green light.
When I was taking driving lessons, my instructor said after you make a left turn make your way to the right lane when it's safe to do so. This applied to the main traffic. Does this method apply today? Love your videos they're excellent.
I'm glad you enjoy the videos! As for your question, the practice of moving to the right lane after making a left turn is generally applicable in situations where you need to position yourself for your intended route. For new drivers it is still recommended that they switch to the right lane so that they don't block the fast lane
Hello! I appreciate your feedback, and I understand that judging incoming traffic for a right turn can be challenging, especially during an exam. I'll definitely consider making a video specifically addressing this topic for G2 drivers. I'll provide tips and techniques to help you assess oncoming traffic accurately and make safe right turns. Stay tuned for the upcoming video, and in the meantime, if you have any more questions or concerns, feel free to ask. Good luck with your preparation and your driving journey!
In my country you can turn left however you want, as long as you don't force the oncoming traffic and/or pedestrians to change path or speed as a result of your maneuver. This means that if the intersecting road is wide enough, and a pedestrian has just started crossing towards you, you can turn left in front of him.
Thank you very much for the wonderful explanation. It would be really great if you could share tips on how to be in right side of the road .There is a tendency to go towards left side thinking about Bord stein and parked cars on my right side.
Can I assume that, once we are in middle of intersection, we can focus only on the T and P of TPL , So even if the Light turns red we can move left bcoz we are in middle of the intersection
Thank you for your support and kind words! I'm thrilled that you enjoy the educational driving videos. I'll definitely consider making a video about what to do after passing your driving test. As a pedestrian crossing, my flashlight, is always on, day, or night, once I have the right of way! I would encourage pedestrians to do the same as well, so that the driver, is fully eye contact with you!
Hi my friend I'm your subscriber I'm working in hongkong.ask a driver can you make a video how to stop in traffic lights in the uphill road .the automatic car cannot move.thanks you my friend.
See if the cars are slowing and if so, proceed. Only one car should be in the intersection at a time. By the time it turns red, it should have stopped and you can proceed as long as there's no crazy pedestrian running across.
great video, but aren't you always supposed to yield to the car turning right if u are making a left turn? i think you would fail the test if you did this.
@@himaririku5289 It pretty much is. Except for when you're making a left turn on an advanced green light (essentially a protected left turn). In this case the oncoming traffic has a red light, and as such they must yield to you when turning right.
Thanks for this video! Newbie question here: So I understand pedestrians, but what happens if I want to turn left and a bike is coming close to the intersection? Should they stop or should I wait for them to move? Cyclists scare me more than pedestrians.
so if you want to turn left but a bicyclist is coming, you don’t want to turn and risk the chance of hitting them. if they are ways away (far from when you look in your rear view mirror or not in your blind spot) you can turn. you don’t have to wait if they are way back there and not even close to you
I will accept nothing less than a 90 on my G2 test. The only thing I’m a bit concerned about is taking too long to do the turns, but hopefully it ends up ok
Today I failed my first road test try in Alberta. I disqualified for blocking traffic in intersection when I had to go for left. I entered in intersection when light is green but due to upcoming traffic i have to wait for clear intersection, in that time light turns yellow and i was too slow to move then light turns red so I'was obstructing traffic from my left that time. This is the worst situation where most of the student fails.
@@TorontoDrivers If the intersection is small though, they will cross each other's paths. This is common in Europe, and older cities in general. In this case, cars will have to turn at the same time when they reach each other.
Can you tell turning left in green light how can I judge incoming car is far enough ....any reference point using rear view mirror/ wiper.... anything?
if the intersection is larger do i still have to allow 1 car at a time in the middle of the intersection before turning left or can i follow the second car in the middle ?
what if the light turns red when you waiting for pedestrian in the middle of the road. Is that failed for the test as you block intersection? what should be the best courses of actions? thanks
Wait until the pedestrian passes your lane/side of the road, and then complete your turn. There's nothing wrong with completing a left turn on a red light. In fact, in rush hours, when there's little to no gaps, that's the only way you can turn left.
What if there is a car that is across from you also wanting to turn left, and that car is blocking your vision to the oncoming traffic? What do you do in that situation?
Question: at 3:09, why is there another light below the green light? If it's a left arrow, why isn't it illuminated if turning left is OK to do? For context, I'm from the UK but we'll be driving in Toronto for a few days.
What if while waiting for pedestrians to cross like sch kids and it turns red but you are already in the middle intersection. Will moving on red be an issue?
Can you make a video about speed limits? I don't go beyond the posted speed limit, but I see other cars travelling beyond the speed limit. Somebody told me it's alright to go above the speed limit so long as its not more than 10 kms. But I believe that speed limits are there to protect pedestrians. I'm confused. I try to follow the speed rules, but it seems that a lot of drivers don't. Can you help me?
@Julian Hermanez Would that be legal in principle? Even the examiners won't let us drive beyond the posted speed limit, otherwise they would penalize the driver and fail him/her.
I witnessed a car travelling well above the 40 km speed limit in a school zone where the school zone lights were blinking. Is that something we should condone? If we allow that, a child can get hurt, or worse, may lose their life.
@Francis Noel Tumarao Ignore him. He wants everyone to be a speeder like him, and does not want anyone to respect the rules. Just go what you feel comfortable at.
3:51 I don’t know if it’s just where I live, but it seems like most drivers making left turns at an unprotected green light are ignorant/unaware that the cars in front of them making a right turn have the right of way. They always cut off or honk at cars making right turns at a green light even when they have the right of way.
In New Zealand, as strange as it may sound, this used to be the law, until recently. Right turning vehicles had the right of way over left turners. (NZ drives on the left).
Im confused with this fact that right has right of way in above scenario because i cant make my G test as my instructor braked me saying the light turning has the right of way at green light against the one that is turning right
What about those who are doing the left turn on advance green and on opposite the car is taking a right turn?isn’t those who are turning left on advance green has the right of way than those who are turning right on the opposite?
@@saralohan6954The commenter asks about a left turn on an advanced green light (essentially a protected left). When you have an advanced green, the oncoming traffic has a red light. The right turner in this case should yield, since they are making a right turn on red.
It's permitted to be positioned across the pedestrian crosswalk when waiting to turn? I know those pedestrians don't have the light, but I'm still wondering.
If there is a pedestrian crossing and I am waiting to make a left turn, say I’m already in the intersection, and what if it is already yellow light, should I still wait for the pedestrian to complete crossing before I start making a turn and risk being in the middle of intersection on a red light? Or can I start turning but giving space to the pedestrian to finish crossing?
Good question! Pedestrians always come first. In this case, let the pedestrian cross because if you are in the intersection then you can turn left even on a red light. Hope this helps.
car waiting for left turn, is seeing light turning red, has last chance of turning and it HAS TO MOVE, but there is a pedestrian crossing in his turning lane. What to do?
I am pretty decent as a beginner driver and learner but 4:12 almost got me into an accident and it's scary how some road rules can shift due to circumstance. because in left turns I take the right lane but in this situation I had to take the left and I didn't understand how was I supposed to know and when does it apply?
at like 2:48 how do u know there's no cars coming because I literally cannot see anything with the lineup of cars blocking Ur view on the opposite side left turn
Good question! In this case, you can tilt you head a little to get a better view. If you still don't see it, you can wait until the lights turn yellow/red to make a safe turn. Always remember, safety first!
@@TorontoDrivers Just because your light turned yellow/red, doesn't necessarily mean the oncoming side's light also turned yellow/red. There are intersections where the oncoming side has a longer green light, because of an advanced green, for instance. You should make sure that the oncoming traffic is slowing or has come to a stop before turning left.
4:54 and that's how I almost got ran over by a 90 Ford ranger lol. I assume he didn't see me but he just zoomed past me he was about 5 or 4 feet away from me
a friend of mine just failed her road test for a "wide turn". she turn into the right lane instead of the first lane or the left lane. she was crushed but took another test as soon as she book it. and passed.
I read a story in the news where a driver got a ticket for unsafe driving for doing a wide turn. but many people especially the SUVs take turns too fast, cant control the turn. It pays to keep practicing making the turns as per video
IDK what state this is, but in some, if you are waiting to turn left on a green light, if you do NOT pull into the intersection to wait, that's a fail. The vehicle that is already in the intersection has the right of way, even if their light has turned red and yours turned green. You MUST wait for that vehicle that is already in the intersection to complete their turn, even if it takes them longer to do so than you think it should.
In some states (like Louisiana), it's technically illegal to be in the intersection when the light is red. So this means you have to wait at the stop line until there's a gap in the traffic. This is impossible when the traffic volumes are heavy, in rush hours for instance.
Hello, I had a question. When there are 2 lanes and two vehicles are turning right on a green, do I have to wait until both cars turn or should I turn on the left lane of the road? In the video it's not clear on what the rule says in this situation. Can you please help?
In most places in the world, yes it is legal. In rush hour, when there are little to no gaps, that's the only way to make a left turn. But there are some US states (like Louisiana) where that is technically illegal.
What if on a one -way stop sign intersection a car makes a full stop, then proceeds without waiting for the car that has the right of way to clear and gets hit by it from the side, who’s fault is that?
This rule of left turns in Canada is bonkers and makes things unnecessarily complicated and dangerous. The better way is to have individual red and green lights for left turns, like in a normal country, this eliminates the need for all this mess.
I'm really sorry to hear that you had a tough experience and failed your driving test. Remember, it's common to feel nervous, especially during a test, but don't be too hard on yourself.
You are absolutely right! You nailed it! :)
Amazing vídeo
Thanks a ton for checking out my video and leaving such a kind comment! 😊

I would like a video on roundabout please..
If there is solid green signal and incoming traffic is busy where i should park my car in that situation
If you are the first car then you should be in front of the white line. :)
Thank you sir
You're welcome!😊 Thanks for watching! Happy driving! 🚗👍
Do you have any idea till when there will be modified g test?
My brother please make a video also on right turn and one way...
I am working on that video. Coming up soon. :)
I am working on that video. Coming up soon. :)
Hi. I have a question about right turn on red light. Do I have to turn on my test or I can wait till it green to be sure?
great tips
Thank you!
What if I'm already in the intersection, but the cars keep coming and the light turns yellow?
See if the cars are slowing and if so, proceed. Only one car should be in the intersection at a time.
By the time it turns red, it should have stopped and you can proceed as long as there's no crazy pedestrian running across.
Hi Harminder, can you explain how to safely make a left-hand turn on a wide road with designated streetcar meridian? (tracks)
Hi! I can try that. Could you please elaborate on the difficulty with streetcars on the road?
Can you show me how far to brake on the stop signs please
is it compulsory to change lane to right after making left from intersection
great video, but aren't you always supposed to yield to the car turning right if u are making a left turn? i think you would fail the test if you did this.
is it the same everywhere else
@@himaririku5289 It pretty much is. Except for when you're making a left turn on an advanced green light (essentially a protected left turn). In this case the oncoming traffic has a red light, and as such they must yield to you when turning right.
Hello Harminderji Do you give lessons in Scarborough??
Hi! I am sorry, I do not teach driving anymore. :(
Do you have to shoulder check when turning left
What if the traffic is consistently coming and you’re in the intersection waiting to turn? Do you turn on Amber or red?
Thanks for this video! Newbie question here: So I understand pedestrians, but what happens if I want to turn left and a bike is coming close to the intersection? Should they stop or should I wait for them to move? Cyclists scare me more than pedestrians.
pedestrians and bicyclists always have the right of way
so if you want to turn left but a bicyclist is coming, you don’t want to turn and risk the chance of hitting them. if they are ways away (far from when you look in your rear view mirror or not in your blind spot) you can turn. you don’t have to wait if they are way back there and not even close to you
I will accept nothing less than a 90 on my G2 test.
Do you know if modified G test is still in place or for how long?
Did u give lessons in mississauga?
What about to opposite cars both turning left ?? Both have green light.
They can go at the same time as they won't be in each other's way.
I personally would enter the intersection if there is room. This kind of rule is stupid and reduces the left-turn capacity.
pedestrians turning around made me laugh hahha
what if the light turns red when you waiting for pedestrian in the middle of the road.
After u get ur license you need to go with the flow, otherwise be ready for lots of angry drivers behind u
Go speed limit if you're alone but when there is traffic just go with the flow And leave enough 3 seconds space from the car in front of u
@Francis Noel Tumarao
Ignore him.
Im confused with this fact that right has right of way in above scenario because i cant make my G test as my instructor braked me saying the light turning has the right of way at green light against the one that is turning right
Please clarify this point!!
What about those who are doing the left turn on advance green and on opposite the car is taking a right turn?isn’t those who are turning left on advance green has the right of way than those who are turning right on the opposite?
I am new driver . I believe the person who is taking right on green, he/she has right of way.
You forgot to mention that once you did the left turn you have to switch to the right lane?
Goood❤
Thank you! Great to hear! Stay safe and have a fantastic day! 🚗😊👍
car waiting for left turn, is seeing light turning red, has last chance of turning and it HAS TO MOVE, but there is a pedestrian crossing in his turning lane. What to do?
you have missed a left turn when two vehicles reach the stop sign and one of them has to turn left. who has the right of way?
Hi , l live in the Brampton is it possible that can I take driving lessons from you, please let me know , thanks
Hi! I am sorry, I do not teach driving anymore. :(
Thank you. You did not show how and when make a left turn when there is a lot traffic coming!
I assume he didn't see me but he just zoomed past me he was about 5 or 4 feet away from me
What to do when you hear horn and signal turns red.??
When the signal turns red, you must go if you are the first car in the intersection. :)
what is left right left while turning ?
a friend of mine just failed her road test for a "wide turn". she turn into the right lane instead of the first lane or the left lane. she was crushed but took another test as soon as she book it. and passed.
Luckily, there's nothing wrong with that in my country, aswell as in most European countries.
Foot position
Hello, I had a question. When there are 2 lanes and two vehicles are turning right on a green, do I have to wait until both cars turn or should I turn on the left lane of the road? In the video it's not clear on what the rule says in this situation. Can you please help?
You can only turn from the lane closest to the direction you want to go.
❤
what happened when I entered in the intersection and suddenly the light turned red
Great question! You must still clear the intersection as you would be blocking the path of the other cars :)
Is it legal to complete the left turn if you’re in the intersection and light turns red? Although it was green when the car entered the intersection.
The better way is to have individual red and green lights for left turns, like in a normal country, this eliminates the need for all this mess.
i failed because i got so nervous and i went left on red 😭
I'm really sorry to hear that you had a tough experience and failed your driving test. Remember, it's common to feel nervous, especially during a test, but don't be too hard on yourself. Mistakes happen, and they can be learning opportunities. Take some time to practice, gain more confidence, and when you're ready, give it another try. You've got this! 😊🚗💪
I don't understand why you need to check your blind spot
If you really dont know the answer to that then you shouldnt be driving. 😂 you always need to check your surroundings.
