  • Over the next few years, London Bridge station will be totally redeveloped as part of the Thameslink project. The first evidence of this is the new glass roof concourse for the low-level (terminating) platforms. This is part of the Shard development and is a taste of things to come as the whole station will be of "glass and steel" when it's finished. The section of 1970s concourse roof that remains is where the new through lines will run onto the recently widened viaduct over Borough Market. EVERYTHING else of the station seen in this film will be swept away over the next few years. Scaffolding and a crash deck is due to be erected around the 1864 grade 2 listed train shed roof for it to be dismantled, and hopefully found a new home, or at least part of it. More likely it will just rot away in a yard somewhere.. The handsom ex South Eastern Railway offices in Tooley Street, recently subject of a preservation battle, will now also be demolished, this will be the site of a new entrance to the station into a new, football pitch size, under platform concourse area, St Pancras style. You can see plans at networkrail.co.uk. To finish, a few shots on the Northern line platforms of the London Underground. Filmed on a Panasonic SD900 with a windcutter fitted to camera mic, get yours at thewindcutter.com. £10 to end annoying wind noise, bargain. look at a demo • WIND NOISE REDUCTION -...
    PROGRESS UPDATES:
September/October 2012. Crash deck installed under train shed roof.
October 2012. Last few shops closed on the old part of the concourse ready for demolition.
February 2013. Train shed roof demolition completed
A campaign is underway to reverse the decision of demolishion of the South Eastern Railway Offices building on Tooley Street
    27th May 2013. Platforms 14 15 & 16 Closed for redevelopment.
31st May 2013 It is announced that the Vale of Rheidol Railway in Aberystwyth, Wales, has salvaged 16 coloumns and 14 beams, as well as other elements of the central curved section of the roof equating to about one third of of it. Probably the section closest to the camera at (1:30) They are to be used for a new museum building housing narrow guage railway exhibits.

No. They stick on over the built in camera mic. That's the beauty. It's just a piece of furry material edged with sticky tape but it works so well and are made in dozens of different sizes for different cameras. Search youtube for windcutter demos of look at the link in the video description.
