more like jump up drum and bass i think this.... neurofunk has more rapid hard drums than this jump up has got that punhcy drum with stabby wobby basses
@@rokthatsun i've been listening to jump up and dnb for over 15 years mate and live in the UK produce jump up myself and i know Tsuki himself. this is not neuro
This is a really good tutorial. You keep things simple and to the point, saying what to do, but then explain the reasons why you do what you do. I also like how you went as far as making visual diagrams to better explain your points and help visualize what you're talking about. Also the track is fucking crazy. It goes to show that sound design isn't everything and that the majority of how to make a song sound good involves, well, knowing how to make MUSIC! Too often do people get lost in sound design and forget how to make a song, and DNB artists can be a big offender of this. This song has a good flow, is catchy, uses call and response, and the sound designs just tops it off. Keep up the great work and I'd love to hear this finished!
Nice video man🙂👍 I recommend you listen to some UK artists for inspiration such as sota, l3mmy dubz, metal work, amplify, annix, upgrade, bou, disrupta, mozey to name a few. We take our dnb super serious over here aha 😅
Hey. Just found your channel. Loving what I see and hear! Quick question if I may. Your beats sound fat from get go. Are you doing any processing (not showing) or is that just quality samples?
Hey Mark, the samples sure help. All the ones I used in this video are really high quality. Additionally, the way I record my videos I have to export the audio from Ableton so sometimes the drums may already be processed when they're eventually edited into the video. So, the short answer is they're likely already processed. But good samples nonetheless
There are a bunch of really great tutorials on youtube for these kinds of basses. But the basic overview is I would start with a sin wave with a plucky envelope and use FM.
If anyone knows what genre this is, please let me know. I'm not really sure what to call it
Neurofunk (colloquially simply neuro) subgenre of dnb
thanks, good to know

One of the few truly efficient tutorials on UA-cam. Thank you NonWeary, I’m looking forward to more vids!
Thank you for your positive candor, Chris Johnson
This is honestly one of the most helpful tutorials I have ever seen -- you will go far, keep going!

Also over processing - I think that’s my issue at mo 😔

Sick tutorial! I'd love if you could try doing a trap-style one like RL Grime, ISOxo, Frosttop or Hex Cougar
Dope!
Wicked tune🔥🔥🔥
Also - if you can share projects - that would be awesome. Lots going on so would love to study 16 bar loop. Thanks!

The technical aspects are great and well appreciated but I myself am not particularly fond of swingy dnb rhythms, nonetheless thank you sir
How to make the “donk” bass?
