- Even subframe connectors are a little different on the early 4-eyed cars. She put up a fight, or rather, I fought myself most of the way....On this video Project EgoBruise gets subframe connectors and we chip away at the build.
Thank you, Mike, for your hard and honesty. I totally understand your struggles with projects. I or we look forward toward your constant, no matter what 🤘🏻
Thank you sir! Ya'lls constant positivity continues to blow me away.
Mike, It's refreshing and important that you are being realistic. It isn't easy , especially on your back and in the heat and humidity. I just spent the last two months pulling my motor and AOD after a blown head gasket and took that "opportunity " to replace the heads and go through it and clean it up utilizing any free time that I had. At 53 and a retired firefighter/paramedic with jacked up back and arm in the Florida heat and humidity, I certainly questioned my sanity most of the time. I and the rest of us appreciate you being honest and upfront. Keep forging forward and I look forward to the next update. I want to see you declare victory by completing this car!!!!
Man I appreciate that! The struggle is/was real, I just had to cut all the cussing I was shouting out as well. Starts to sink in that.... Im not 20 or even 30 anymore, I have a mindset and motivation / drive of a 25 year old me but my body is starting to slack lol but come hell or high water this car will be built and built how I want! Appreciate your service sir, and thanks for the comment.
I bought a few 4x8 sheets of polystyrene insulation and cut into pieces to fit between garage door sections nice and tight and Wow what a Difference ! When the sun would hit the garage door it would soak up all that heat to 128 + degrees. Now its 70-80 degrees no bullshyt huge difference !
So glad you don’t cut out your struggles, make me realize I’m not the only one that has them. Cars coming along great, can’t wait for the finished product.
Appreciate that
Another great video! I want to get these exact ones for my 4 to 8 conversion on my 93 Notch. This video really showed the how to. In reality you made it look easy. Nice job, love this build and great choice on the wheels. Can’t wait to see this in Avalanche.
Appreciate the kind reply man. Still in video I cut out a lot because I have to, hard to record hours and hours and make it 25 minutes or less lol. Subframe connectors are easy, only thing I'd add is to clean/grind more of the areas your going to weld. Has to be super clean and plenty of bare metal!
Turned out great! Welding looks way better than what I did. Totally with you on the heat and getting overwhelmed with a big project. Glad to have cooler weather for TX and more progress to catch up on!
Yessir! Cant wait to knock out a ton this fall / winter.
You should put insulation panels on the garage door, It noticeably reduces heat inside. I had the same issue, door faced west and got directly hit later in the day.
Yes, been waiting for an update. Been getting prepared for a similar build on my 89 vert...........this is my inspiration.
Nice!
Thank you, hopefully inspire what not to do as well ;) EcoBoosting a 89?
@@HOUSEOFDULA Yes, EcoBoosting, trying to decide on transmission but a T5 would be great, wish AJE made a cross member for that.
@@bluegrassgarage Well stay tuned because stifflers make the perfect solution, but I dont want to give too much away yet.
@@HOUSEOFDULA I will definitely stay tuned!
Great work and glad to see an update. I’m glad to see the seat upgrade but staying with fox body theme. I had a set recovered years ago. I kept the insert factory material but vinyl on the outer bolsters. I got compliments on them every show I went to. 👍
Man that is very close to my idea as well. Curious did you give the upholster a new set and they altered it? Or did you have them 100% custom made
great vid bud glad you posted!
Thank you!
Amazing! Thanks for keeping it real. I totally can relate to this project
Appreciate comments like this man. Thank you!
Bro you need a set of race ramps gets the car up a little higher it helps a lot. Glad to see the progress 🤙🏼 would love to show you my build Sn95 EcoBoost 6r80 with CPE Atmosphere Turbo kit
Man you are not kidding! These are a little hard to get up onto though when the car is not yet running
Great video
Stifflers makes a crossmember just for the 79-81 cars. Fit perfectly in my 79
Yessir they do! Hoping to get it in soon.
Are you putting your brackets back on? It's bolts right in the factory location.
@@fordhoarderNo. I'm working with Stifflers. Its not in the right location, the trans is 2" or so towards to nose from factory because of the EcoBoost location, shortness, the Esslinger adapter plate etc. Stifflers makes a t-5 cross member that mounts between the subframe connectors. I knew this going into it and why I wanted to remove the factory cross member pockets.
@@HOUSEOFDULA I ran into a similar issue with the TKX. By flipping the crossmember around and reorienting the bushings, that crossmember actually has almost 6" of adjustability front to back
Ford is really proud of that bracket! Ouch
Good job Dula!🤠👍
great video as always! nice job staying positive, i probably would have thrown a wrench at that hole and it would have bounced back and smacked me in the face XD
lol Times there I wanted to throw a wrench through the windshield, but its not the cars fault only the idiot behind the tool.
Wasnt able to watch when dropped, on it now, keep up the good work
(Hasid Lafre) had to change the name because YT tossed a fit.
Old scool still watching bro.
In my world I still cant find a fox worth a damn, the vic is deteriorating fast after the tbone accident.
ive actually been looking at 2011 mustang gts and really thinking about getting a loan for a 12 year old car.
OMG man. Oh yeah I remember you. Hasid Lafre, youve been around since literally day one. I actually wondered where you went and realy just assumed my demographics changed because of the content change. Glad your still around man!
Love the vids, always worth the wait. I have a question. Do you know of a good way to repair the roof brace in a foxbody. I'm referring to the spongy foam like material that is between the roof and the brace. Mine is gone, causing the roof to pop in and out like a soda can.
I have to be 100% honest with you here. My 86 didnt have foam of any kind that I recall between any bracing. Shoot me a picture if you want to prisonplanet88@gmail.com Im interested.
@@HOUSEOFDULA it may be just oil canning from the heat. I assumed padding existed between the metal just like the gas tank door does. I will look into it thanks
Hay ,and how are you ,what offset of rims need to be too clear the brembos calipers
Man, so go here, at best I did all the measurements, so you can comapre wheels and get the backspace clearance info from the wheel company and compare. houseofdula.com/tech-and-downloads
Ubdeed, one of the frustrations with my BBK SFCs is the seat bolt holes don't line up, one does the other doesn't. Ao, fuggedaboudit but not too impressed.
BBK not use weldable seat mounts? MM's are like this for this reason. Too many variables that cab affect seat mount, MM allows you to line the seat up and weld it where needed. If you have a welder that is.
@@HOUSEOFDULA pre welded so....id have to cut them and reweld. Bbk QC ain't great.
@@EffequalsMA - I agree, Ive have issues with BBK and typically avoid them. Had a BBK new fuel rail leak from every connected point.
@@HOUSEOFDULA You'd think after all this time, the tooling would be set up right. I had to bend/force a BBK strut tower brace to fit as well...and my car hasn't been hit. At least the clutch cable and quadrant a PO bought is still ok.
