It must bei really wonderful to know that something that you have created will soon be available all around the world. So no matter where ever you travel you'll propably find your creation in every book store.
I just finished reading Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin having seen the movie version many years ago. The book is exceptional. Not scary in the traditional sense and many already know the basic story. But Levin did a great job of dropping in parts of the story along the way allowing you to join Rosemary as she pieces together that things aren’t as they seem. Really enjoyed it despite a few racial references that are unfortunate but it was written in 1967.
Jen two mexican authors that I am sure you are going to like a lot: Amparo Dávila and Inés Arredondo. Both wrote about your favorite themes, both are great.
Right now I'm reading The Upstairs House by Julia Fine, in which a dazed new mother realizes that the ghost of Margaret Wise Brown is living above her apartment. I'm only about fifty pages in, but so far I'm very impressed with the writing.
FABULOUS wig Jen :-) My two favourite books for this time of year are Dark Matter (A Ghost Story) by Michelle Paver and Mr Wroe's Virgins by Jane Rogers (historic wintery gem of a novel).
I was so happy to receive my copy of The Sister Who Ate Her Brothers in the mail yesterday. I will soon be curling up with it for a creepy Halloween read. Best!
My spooky TBR was already too large (currently reading The Animals at Lockwood Manor and The Chestnut Man) and now you’ve added so many to my list (I have a copy of Leave the World Behind and I forgot that it had an unsettling vibe)!
Definitely want to read The Last House on Needless Street this year. Very much looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. Very interested in reading Mrs March now too ☺
Haha, I kept thinking how you reminded me of Coraline right at the start of the video, then BAM! You said it yourself as well. Thank you for all the wonderful book recs! 😄👍
A Ghost in the Throat is now out in audio which will make all the difference hearing the poem in the original Irish ☘️ I’m currently reading Platform Seven ( ghostly psychological thriller) Shelter We Begin At The End ☘️👋🍀📖🫖☕️📚🐝
I just got hold of In the House in the Dark of the Woods by Laird Hunt which I'm excited to read soon. My TBR has just expanded. I didn't know I needed so many creepy books in my life!
So many intriguing titles I've never even heard of, you're definitely my go-to booktuber for that sort of thing. Thank you! If you like books about dolls, I picked up a middle grade a few years back called Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell. It was quite spooky for a MG and made me question whether or not to keep the tiny Frozen Charlottes I happen to own. LOL
Just finished Come Let us Sing Anyway by Leone Ross and LOVED it. I...am not sure if I'd personally call it much of a spooky read, but it does have a lot of unsettlings.
I'm at a threshold for getting a wig myself from medical treatment secundary effects, I think I'll take it as you do. Also I just received your book about weird customer stuff and it is laugh out loud matter!
I have The Lottery by Shirley Jackson or Skein And Bone by V. H. Leslie sitting waiting on my shelf or I might try and read Little Eyes by Samanta Schweblin. I hope the Sister Who Murdered Her Brothers arrives before halloween 😼
Great list! I have one you may enjoy: The House of a Hundred Whispers by Graham Masterton. It was the scariest thing I’d read in years when I read it last October.
I read Ghost in the Throat recently. I was a bit disappointed as I expected Gothic and instead got… Domestic?. But the language is beautiful and I really wish I could pronounce everyone’s names correctly. If you liked Death in her Hands I recommend Drive your plow over the bones of the dead (whew long title). It has the same premise: old lady solves mysterious crimes and may or may not be an unreliable narrator, but a better story in my opinion.
I like psychological thrillers, I really want to read Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn, have you or anyone you know read this book? If so can you describe your thoughts on the book.
Yes, there’s a paper shortage so the release in North America was delayed by a few weeks. I’m sorry about that, lots of other authors in the same situation. Hopefully worth the wait x
Jen all I can say is that I love your hair looks amazing 😉 please stay safe and enjoy your reading love your channel and love your Australia fan John xxx love this video
There are no import taxes on books, just the postage fee if you purchase from abroad. But you should be able to ask your local bookshop to order my books for you if they don’t already stock them; they are available in India. Have you talked to your local bookshop?
I love how quick yet fully you describe these books! Sometimes I feel like some videos with descriptions are too long. So this was perfect!
Love a quick-fire recommendation video on occasion! ☺️

I'm at a threshold for getting a wig myself from medical treatment secundary effects, I think I'll take it as you do. Also I just received your book about weird customer stuff and it is laugh out loud matter!
This is fantastic! I think I'll be rereading "All the Bad Apples" by Moira Fowley Doyle for spooky season.
I have The Lottery by Shirley Jackson or Skein And Bone by V. H. Leslie sitting waiting on my shelf or I might try and read Little Eyes by Samanta Schweblin. I hope the Sister Who Murdered Her Brothers arrives before halloween 😼
my partner lent me his copy of "a ghost in the throat" which i'm hoping to get to soon! also i am very very excited for mrs march 😍
Great list! I have one you may enjoy: The House of a Hundred Whispers by Graham Masterton. It was the scariest thing I’d read in years when I read it last October.

I can't wait to read The Sister who ate her brothers! And I'm also planning to read American Psycho and The Turn of the Screw for spooky season :)
You do understand what _American Psycho_ is about? And what types of scenes are in it? And why that book has upset so many women . . . ?
@@floogelhornzzz4770 and why shouldn’t she read regardless?
I like psychological thrillers, I really want to read Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn, have you or anyone you know read this book? If so can you describe your thoughts on the book.
do you have any recommendations for books that are similar to The One by John Marrs?
I live in the US and my pre-order is delayed. Hopefully it will be here by thanksgiving.

So I bought the second one.
I'm reading The Hierarchies by Ros Anderson right now. Not scary, but creepy and unsettling.
Also on my TBR :) glad to hear it's creepy and unsettling, my favourite things! x
I’m reading The Dangers of Smoking in Bed by Mariana Enriquez. Have you read it?
Not yet, but it’s on my shelf x
@@jenvcampbell btw, I just ordered your new book The Sister Who Ate Her Brother! Can’t wait!! 🥰
Jen it's high time that we in India got to read your books. :( I want to get a chance to read this one without paying the high import taxes.
