Hi, Jenn! Love all the content that you put out there. Every time you mention Sarah Moss, I can’t stop thinking that I would love to see a video of you talking about all of Sarah Moss’ books (like the one you did on Ali Smith’s, which I adore). Lots of love!
Time goes where all lost things do. Through the cracks in the floor and chips in the window. It wafts away on a breeze we cannot see or feel to another day, returning as memory when we least expect.
I too don't like the feeling of not being in the middle of a book. When I have a book waiting for me it's like I'm on a boat moored at a super interesting and fun dock, and I can go back and forth from the boat to the dock as many times as I want. But when I'm not reading any books, it's like I'm out on the open sea, with no land around and nowhere to go. Oh well.
Ha ha! Where does time go? It goes into that box (or two or three) that you never unpacked when you moved into your home. I have about eight of those so it's in one of those boxes over at my place! Ha! Love your cozy vlogs so much. They literally feel like a hug. So thank you for the hug Jen :)
I’m getting my booster today. I’m sorry for what you went through at the vaccination centre. I have asthma. My morning routine consists of 4 minutes on nebuliser followed by two different inhalers. 15 yrs of London pollution did not help my lungs. Friends say being back in rural N.Ireland will help my lungs. However it’s always between 5/10 degrees colder here than London. As it gets colder my lungs tighten like being in a vice. So glad you’re doing the audio of Ghost in the Throat. You’re getting to hear the poem in the original Irish. Congratulations on the London poetry competition win 🏆 The red wig looks great on you. Matches your Celtic complexion. Delighted you liked Piranesi as much as I did. 🍀📖☘️📖☕️🫖📚🐝
This was such a relaxing, cozy vlog Jen. Thanks a lot. :) As for where the time goes.. probably where all of my one sock out of a pair disappear to. No clue.
The dark ginger red is probably my fave - I know you don’t intend them to be “natural” but you really suit being a redhead! Also like the pink-blond- roots one looks really cool 😊
Saw your latest book in the window of a small bookshop in East Dulwich which was recommended. Hope you have had great success with it. The cover is amazing.
The Sister Who Ate Her Brothers has safely arrived in Florida, just in time for Halloween! I adore your fall and winter vlogs, it's so comforting to watch the changing seasons since it's not something we really experience here. 😅
Congrats on the poetry contest! Piranesi is one of my new favorite books. When you know that the author is chronically ill I think the house takes on a whole new meaning and I loved that about it.
I read Piranesi at the end of last year because of the way you described it in a tbr vlog a long time ago and I loved it! The imagery is so so vivid and I can only hope someone adapts it into a series of illustrations or other visual media one day.
This vlog was just lovely! :) Since I am chronically ill and can't really leave the flat I love living vicariously through other people and experiencing the seasons like that! ;) It gave me a lot of joy!
I’ve not been able to catch you for a while, but loved, loved, loved this vlog! I was practically in tears hearing about your vaccination experience, but so pleased you have had the booster. My hubby and I are still awaiting ours and are isolating in the meantime (he has quite severe MS sadly). You never fail to make me feel better and I’ve decided to make Fridays “bake a cake” days after seeing you and an instagrammed in the kitchen! Stay safe and happy reading lovely Jen x
Morgan Long showcased your book in one of her recent videos. What a GORGEOUS book you and your illustrator have done ---absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Congratulations Jen!!
Lovely cosy vlog Jen. Time goes into making fairy wings and butterflies dancing on air. By the way Jen, did you ever find out what was being filmed in your neighbours garden? Best Wishes 💕📚🍂🍁🍂
It was interesting listening to you talk about Piranesi. I was disappointed by it because I don’t understand it. I didn’t even finish it. But I loved Johnathan Strange and Mr Norell so much that I’m determined to try again. It’s still on my bedside table, waiting for me.
I often find lost scraps of time behind and/or under the fridge. Stuck between lost magnets from childhood holidays to the coast or the mountains, year old pieces of salad crisped up and yellowed like autumn leaves even though they were picked in spring, tangled in hairs which are yours... or the cat's... or the dog's... or perhaps just strands of time you did not even know you lost now left alone so long they've accumulated dust about them into a corporeal form.
I just recently subscribed to you channel. Your videos make me happy. Thank you for posting such wonderful content. I just read my first Nicci French book last week and adored it; so thanks for that too 💕😊
I've just finished 'The Sister Who Ate Her Brothers' and absolutely loved it!!!! My favourite story was 'The House That Was Filled With Ghosts', but they were all beautifully written and illustrated. After watching this vlog I want to bake something and go for an autumnal walk as well. :)
The vine by your window is one of my favourite things in your videos each year 🍂🍁(that sounds weird but I just love Autumn 🥰) I read October October this week and it's a lovely read not what I thought it would be but lovely nonetheless XXX (It made me want to pick up Mudlarking again from my shelves)
my favourite youtube vlogs for curing being down are Nala cat's bike adventure & Kend Hayati, one video will tell you all you need to know, Kend Hayati are the best when go deepest into the countryside
Hi Jen. I finished your book, The Sister Who Ate Her Brothers yesterday. It was wonderful and loved the Forward and Afterward. Nice illustrations. Cheers
Gosh I'm so sorry about your awful experience with your jabs. People are terrible... I didn't even know you could get third jabs. Ooo the unsolicited book you got at the end sounds amazing! Looking forward to your thoughts on it.. and congrats on the poetry competition!! X
Hi Jen! Lovely vlog, I’m also in the middle of Piranesi and I feel the same way about it 💕 your new book that I suggested to the library is now on order yay! Unfortunately (for me) I’m third in line 😩 glad other people are interested in it btw
You know it's super interesting for A Ghost in the Throat because I am from Derry and Doire is actually the Irish name of the place! So Doireann is like Derry-Ann!
Where does time go...but did we really have it to begin with? We know it's limited and there are so many things to do with it. I think it likes to take itself away now and again just to take a little rest itself.
Jen have you read The Wytch Elm by Tana French yet? I watched Grace's favourite thrillers video and this was her top book and so naturally I downloaded the audiobook and it's INCREDIBLE! More mystery than thriller but I'm absolutely loving it. Might be a good one to check out!
@@GettingHyggeWithIt I actually DNFed that Tana French; I haven't had much luck with her books, which is so frustrating because so many people love them. x
I love Sarah Moss but had to keep taking breaks from The Fell as it felt so claustrophobic and stressful (which was the idea). I would never have read a book about pandemics if it hadn't been written by her, it's everywhere and I need it not to be in my books. So it was very good, but definitely not my favourite. I loved Piranesi, one of the best things I've read this year. I'm so sorry people were like that when going for your jab, I can't believe they are so rude. I love your videos, they have really kept me going over the past year (almost 2 years). Thank you. x
Love this 💕 Jen I am watching a 'cosy crime' series on Disney plus called Only Murders in the Building with Martin Short, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez?? And so far I think you'd like it ☺️

I feel the same way about not having a book in-progress! Honestly it makes me pretty grumpy in the evenings and leaves me feeling very restless.

thanks jen for the autumnal walks and talks...

Congrats on the poetry contest! Piranesi is one of my new favorite books. When you know that the author is chronically ill I think the house takes on a whole new meaning and I loved that about it.
Yes, absolutely. Warped time and constant worldbuilding are things that disabled and chronically ill people understand all too well. x
Thank you Jen. I love it when you take us on walks with you! I am reading Piranesi at the moment: work of genius!! Lots of bookish love :)
Time goes to the same place as lost odd socks and washable face covers that vanish for weeks at a time.
It's true! x

Could you imagine it as a graphic novel? Ah, that would be fabulous.
@@jenvcampbell or even just the novel as it is but fully illustrated 😍
The dream!
My Monday needed this vlog, thank you! ❤
You're most welcome x
Oh your Virginia Creeper is beautiful. I miss ours since moving home. Virginia seems a very apt plant for you and your profession as a writer Jen.

So cozy! Loved watching Lola on her walks.

I think you'd really love her work. x
