girl i finally read better than the movies this past week and it had me giggling at like 3 am! it was sooo sweet 😭 i love the books with slow-burn moments of literally nothing happening because all the small scenes become such gems + my christian self always ends up speed-skimming explicit scenes lol. I love all the fluffy romances so ty!! ♥
Thank you! I always feel bad when I read books with smut. Like I’m intruding on something or reading corn. I like true romance stories on a deeper level than physical💖
Love this!! I really wish there were more really good no spice adult books, though because as I get older ya feels more disconnected but I still rather no spice to dodge
Adult clean romance authors--Kourtney Keisel, Annah Conwell, Emma St. Clair, Jenny Proctor, Savannah Scott, Courtney Walsh, Bethany Turner...and more. Cute romance, witty dialogue, fun tropes and stories, etc.
For people who love the vibes of bridgerton but want no spice- Blackmoore and Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson!!! I'm obsessed with them, esp Also Jo & Laurie, which is basically like the ultimate fix it fanfic for Little Women (aka where we stop denying that Jo & Laurie belonggg together). It also has my fav book quotes of all time - "Love yourself like I love you, old friend" and "who knew a heart could break open so expansively"
Girl just brought up yeonjun and now im invested 😭 anyways thank you so much for the recommendations these all look so good and I’ve been getting more into reading lately
4:32 OH MY GOODNESS! As a girl who doesn't like spice and has a hard time finding good books because of that, I was hoping to add more books to my list but was not expecting to see Choi Yeonjun here. I am a huge fan of TXT and Yeojun is my bias, girl you're gonna convince me to look more into this book.
As a Christian girlie, i am soooo glad i found you! Ive got soooo many new book recs now, youve earned a sub! I also feel spicy book take away from the plot and the characters personalities and stuff, i just prefer no spicr anyway, like whats the point? You forget away it like 2 days after anyway. Thanks again Sunny!!❤
leigh bardugo makes books specifically for the delulu girls I feel because alex and darlington from ninth house makes me feel the same way even tho they literally have NO romantic interactions like none at all NOTHING HAPPENS yet they have been my roman empire for 2 years now I cry real tears for them
For delulu girl "now kiss" I think The Year Of The Reaper by Makiiia Lucier is great. It is obvious that there is interest there, but nothing happens between the characters until the very very end, and the romantic feelings are swept aside throughout so I felt there was great buildup.
Adding all the Brigid Kemmerer books to my more immediate "Read now!!!" TBR after having added them like months ago when I first saw you recommend them.
recent non-spice list of books I liked ! - Kit McBride Gets A Wife by Amy Barry (dual POV Historical Romance, matchmaking) and these two I LOOOOVED (take my memory so I can read them again
i love this!! i will always need more no spice/closed door romances! difficult to find, but it’s worth the search to avoid smut. thank you so much for this video!
I love this type of rec! For people that want to avoid spice all together, today tonight tomorrow, one for my enemy, and divine rivals all have spicy scenes (but all three are not a substantial part of their books)
Hyyy, I'm from Brazil and discovered your channel literally now :) A few months ago I discovered the world of american romances, and got OBSSESED with Annah Conwell, she's a christian author and her books have no spice! I always recommend her for every girl who doesn't like spice scenes
the scream i scrumpt when you started off with letters to the lost. it’s one of my absolute favourite books ever! i’m also someone who enjoys feeling emotional pain when reading lol. love the recs!
If u haven’t already read Powerless, you gotta! It’s kinda a slowburn? You can say they are denial, but they still flirt with each other. Both of them also have a backstory that brings them closer.. or farther apart 🫢🫢 Either way, so good! 10 /10 recommend
i feel like sarah dessen's books would also fit the slowburn and no spice category (especially just listen and the truth about forever), they're very emotional and just focus on the development of the relationship before anything even happens (which happens mostly near the very end)
OMG OMG YOU ARE GOING TO DEVOUR ANN LIANG'S BOOKS: "This time it's real" & "I hope this doesn't find you" because omg I died especially I hope this doesn't find you because godddd the enemies to lovers in that one is STRONGGGGG!!
ahh this came at the perfect time because I literally just finished reading if you could see the sun!! if you liked the book, i would highly recommend ann liang's other two books!! they are my current hyperfixation and i NEED more people to know about them🥺
I'm wondering about reading those books now but I'm very picky about my reads. No spice for me and personally I don't want to read books with very strong language either. How bad is the language and stuff in her books? Lol
Keep doing this recommedation videos! Im a Christian and really aprecciate videos like this! Specially since I feel like in general smut ruins what I really like about romance. Even if I wasnt christian I still wouldnt like smut, mainly because I like more the tension and build up! Plus the idea of them loving each other because of who they are and not for pleasure or their body yk.
thank you!!!! feels like every book is explicit these days and when you don't vibe with that sort of stuff it's hard to find anything to read. very grateful for this vid!!!!
I can also recommend Susan Dennard‘s other series the Luminaries, love story there is also really slow burn, Magic is interesting and the books are not to long. ❤
guys if you like the so highschool category I would recommend Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute by Talia Hibbert and I Hope This Doesn't Find You by Ann Liang, they're so adorable!
thank you so much for making this video it helped me add so many books to my tbr 😭❤️ but 2 other no spice books that i would recommend are Love & Gelato and Tweet Cute, they are seriously some of my favorite books of all time!!
Yes thank you for this, every 2024 new release I’ve read has had spice and it’s overwhelming when every book I pick up is like surprise spicy scene! I prefer no spice as well
The rom commers also by Katherine Center, When in rome by Sarah Adams, the Selection by Kiera Cass, Ana and the french kiss by Stephanie Perkings, To sir with love by Lauren Layne, Emergency contact also by Lauren Layne, A novel love story by Ashley Poston ( there is one scene but it isn't very specific), Just haven't met you yet by Sophie Cousens, aaand those are all I can think about right now. 😊
Thank you for sharing your recommendations! It is so hard to find books without spice these days, even in YA, which has always been my go-to “spice-free” reading. I will definitely be adding your recommendations to my TBR.
Thanks for the recommendations! One thing I'd note is that the Shatter Me series and Once Upon a Broken Heart are not 0 spice. I suppose s3x doesn’t happen on page, but if makeout sences ect. aren't your thing, (they aren't for me, haha) then I'd maybe look elsewhere.
I read If You Could See the Sun recently and received my own copy today (the one I read was from the library, in case it did have smut) -- and Hello Stranger is amazing! Glad to see there other *no smut* readers out there 💕
@1:17 omg. after browsing my shelf, i was just thinking to myself why these books are not that popular because i loved both (letters to the lost & more than we can tell) after reading them years ago. and i'm also planning on rereading them because it's been a while and i don't remember much but i remember really, really enjoying them. so glad i found this video 🤍
If you like closed-door dark romance, you should try Whispers of Fire by Cassie Kellergan, it's about a biker falling for a mute girl and the swoon is swoooooning
Ok I have to join in on the fun with the fancasting K-pop boys as mmcs: when I read OUABH I pictured Jacks as Hyunjin from Stray Kids and I will LITERALLY never be able to see the character another way no matter how much fanart I see to the contrary, like hyunjin is SO Jacks-coded
Finally someone talks about these books! Brigid K. is so good, i recommend Dear Emmie Blue in new adult books. No spice but so good, Lia is amazing. And Kasie West books are perfect for no spice fans.
delulu girl girl says "now kiss!" I highly recommend Counted With the Stars by Connilyn Cossette like barley anything is happening, stolen glance across the fire place , it is perfection I will leave you with that and a quote “My life was nothing but scattered rhythms and dissonant notes before I met you.” I highly recommend it’s amazing please give it a chance 🥰😘
I recommend Afterlove by Tanya Byrne. It's a sapphic love story split in two parts. The first is just girl meets girl and the girls have the softest most lovely romance ever (five stars five million trillion stars best romance ever and no spice) the second has more of a supernatural element / right person not enough time and there's a lot of conflict. I don't want to give spoilers but yeah. I liked the first part better than the second part bc the supernatural element was iffy for me. Books need to be either full on high fantasy or exclusively contemporary for me, so this one with just a tiny tiny bit of supernatural didn't do it for me. But the first part was so so lovely. My advice is read the first part then if you want read the second part
I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE THAT YOU ADDED THE INFERNAL DEVICES I JUST FINISHED REREADING THEMAND UGHHHH WILL TESSA AND JEM ❤❤❤❤ so underrated 10/10 reccomend (bothget the girl love triangle )
I’ve read some and quite a few are on my TBR…. So helpful. If I want to read spice, I’ll read icebreaker lol. If I don’t, I now have a huge list. Thanks again.

Just wanted to give the heads up for people that the infernal devices, the folk of the air, and fable (if memory serves me correctly) definitely have sex scenes. I think clockwork princess is does eventually fade to black but it still gets steamy! I remember skipping ahead in the queen of nothing because it was more than I was comfortable with. I wouldn't call them super spicy (it's basically just one scene), but the content is in there. I've read better than the movies, letters to the lost, and heartless and those are definitely smut free! Six of crows and the inheritance games also doesn't show anything more than kissing on page from my memory. Tokyo ever after is also no smut, but the sequel has a sex scene so know that going in. I see my fellow religious people in the comments and I see your efforts to cultivate virtue!
Oh my gosh I never hear people talk about these Brigid Kemmerer books but they're SO good!!! I love them. Thanks for all the recommendations! I don't mind spice sometimes but it would be nice to change it up with some no spice too!
this was the perfect video for me as someone who doesn’t read spice💖 also, I’m in a terrible slump and I want to start the infernal devices trilogy but I was wondering if you would recommend it to get out of a reading slump? I’m a romance girly too so it has to have romance for me to enjoy it
A book that isn't really a top tier / holy grail romance BUT it's one that I had SUCH a hyperfixation on and I can't wait to reread it bc I'm obsessed with its trope is the Gilded/Cursed duology by Marissa Meyer. It's in a high fantasy world based off of a fairytale retelling for Rumpelstiltskin (I most assuredly spelled that wrong) and it's a romance between a girl and this ghost? boy and after The Last Hours I needed more of that trope so there you go if you're like me. It's also got great banter between the characters and as far as I remember there's no smut but it is more on the adult side.
Thank you!!! I'm muslim and it's really hard to find romance books without spice 💞💞

this was the perfect video for me as someone who doesn’t read spice💖 also, I’m in a terrible slump and I want to start the infernal devices trilogy but I was wondering if you would recommend it to get out of a reading slump? I’m a romance girly too so it has to have romance for me to enjoy it
i wrote all of them down omg i will read them all🌺✨ thank u for the recs i don't like spice in books (it's super scary to read it public🥰)
💖💖💖
Oh my goodness i literally adore the Tokyo ever after series! Yeonjun🤭🤭
