Honestly the rest of the video is cool, but the Ovi stopping by letang is the important part. So cool to see two guys that have battled in the highest moments in the playoffs take a second in the regular season say "hey you ok??" thats the best part of sports imo. You can beat the shit outa each other but when real life hits taking a second to say "everything good?" is beyond anything.

PLEASE NHL do away with the freaking shootout!!! Let them play till someone scores on a 3 on 3. The odds are it will be over in 10 minutes max. It's so much more fun to watch and exciting then the stupid shootout.

@@trvman1 They do it so that it’s over quicker. A shootout will most likely involve no more than 5 players from each team plus the tendy, and it involves almost no energy. If every game just had unlimited overtime then imagine how tired the players would be, and the game would most likely be incredibly boring because of how tired they are. I dislike the shootout, but I understand why they have it.

Teams have tried that. I remember a Flyers game where they just stuck a D-man on Ovie and played 4 v 3. The Capitals have a play that for that exact situation and scored on the first 2 PPs when the Flyers did that. They move a guy to the high slot (usually Oshie), the d man pinches to the mid boards, a guy (usually Kuzy) goes to the goal line and someone (usually Wilson) goes to the front of the net. It's just not sustainable and you take your chances with Ovie. It looked like Pitt was covering him well on the goal but you can't leave Sheary open backdoor for a tap in. The Pitt d-man has to make a split decision to cover that and leave Ovie. Then bang, probably why he was so upset. The only time I've seen a great defense against Ovie on the PP was the mid-10s Rangers. Hagelin and McDonagh had a telepathy on who had him every second of a PP. It was impressive to watch.

Ovi's a brave, courageous hockey player, and off the ice he cowardly avoids stating in any way that he's against authoritarian Russia's invasion under false pretenses that has killed untold numbers of Russians and Ukrainians.
I get that he doesn't have any control over these things, but nobody's asked him to stop the war, just to denounce it, and he can't even bring himself to do it. Say what you want about fear of retaliation against his family still living in Russia, but I'd only counter with amazement that he'd let his family remain in such a dangerous place that mere words could bring torture and death to them. Wtf is this guy doing and why tf does nearly everyone give him a pass? I don't believe that he doesn't have an opinion, especially by this point, because everyone does. This shit is so much bigger than the game he's lucky enough to be a part of, but you wouldn't know it the way he talks. It's beyond shameful how he hides behind the 'I'm just a hockey player' shtick and how loads of people are right there parroting it as some sad counter-argument. My only logical conclusion is that he truly stands behind Putin and his lies that murder innocent people everyday.
Sorry to be so real folks, but there's more important things out there than hockey, as much as I wish that wasn't the case.

Crosby and Ovechkin continue to accumulate points even though they are both past their prime years, although Crosby has played in fewer games. INCREDIBLE how many goals Ovechkin has scored from that position even with the opposition KNOWING the shot is coming. IMO he is the best pure goal scorer the world has seen so far. Next season or early into the following season he will break THE GREAT ONES goal total. I, for one, for the longest time, NEVER BELIEVED that 894 goals in regular season would be eclipsed. I LOVE SIDNEY’S game and his approach. He is the best TWO-WAY PLAYER, EVER, IMO. Overall, it has been GREAT TO WITNESS THESE 2 CONSUMMATE OVERACHIEVERS !

2:19 Why do most UA-camrs pronounce nearly every instance of "a" in a sentence as "AYE" rather than the more common "uh" when necessary? Such as:
"...Johnny took "AYE" stroll to see "AYE" public performance in "AYE" public park near "AYE" coffee shop..."
I don't get it. Unless the possible explanation is UA-camr inbreeding, meaning UA-camrs are copying other UA-camrs who copy other UA-camrs and suddenly you have mass destruction on how to pronounce the letter "a" in sentences.

Ovechkin has a great shot, but he's a GOAL SUCK. Let's hope he doesn't break GRETZKY'S record. I loved GORDIE HOWE; he was my favorite player when I was a kid; he was tough as nails, and they didn't wear helmets back then. I hated GRETZKY when I used to see him at MLG, destroying the Leafs. But at least he wasn't a GOAL SUCK LIKE OVECHKIN.

Those career points you highlighted for Crosby and Ovie are absolutely RIDICULOUS.
What I didn't realize... was Ovie having played almost 200 games more than Sid..?!? And even with that they're practically tied in career points.
    👏👏👏👏... for Crosby
THEN you look at the GOALS total in that span....
    👏👏👏👏... for Ovie.
Ngl, I feel lucky to have lived and witnessed LIVE the incredible rivalry between these two Legends and their Teams.
And What makes this rivalry one of the Best in NHL history, is the fact that both Captains have remained with their respective teams for their entire "First ballot HOF" careers.
( and let's be honest here, they'll both retire wearing the only jersey they've ever known. ) LEGENDS.

I gotta admit that when Ovie and the Caps finally won it ALL and got to hoist Lord Stanley, it genuinely felt RIGHT. It just makes Ovie's incredible career so much more memorable knowing he's been a Champion. Nothing but Respect for that guy, even though he's teed off on my team's netminders for years.

always find it confusing how fans take things more personally than players, ie this rivalry, the players have their moments of intensity and "hate" towards each other, but in the end they realize its just a game more than the fans do... love being part of a great rivalry even if i have to admit we have over the years been on the butt end at least when its mattered, but the idea of going to pittsburgh or philly to watch my team and getting harassed or even assaulted, as has been the case, just never made any sense to me when you see the players showing so much respect to one another. I suppose it's the whole "im from here" mentality, players are rarely from the town they play for.
