FYI Update- Just checked on Amazon, 6 quarts of Classic Slick50 formula Cerflon is now $79.99 - That's Inflation right there because it was just like $60 when I bought the same order last time in the fall of 2023.. about $13 a quart now, still cheaper than some other engine treatments sold at Autozone in smaller cans.. Will treat the Benz Diesel next and report how it works. Mustang just turned over 200k miles, slick50 oil still it in but will need to change out soon, it has about 3,500 miles on it, I added like 3 qts slick50 over the last 6 mths, since it burns a lot of oil.
there was omething called militec I added to my v8 ford about 30 years ago and it didnt do anything except lower my oil pressure a little. it had teflon in it too (supposedly). edit toadd i dont know what project farm is but the Amsoil people always have those 'bearing' wear test things etc. and i think there are videos on youtube about them doing it. it's all snake oil
I know a few people that are fans of Amsoil and were trying to get me to use it but the prices they charge for their treatment products are sky high, even just for their regular engine oil. It's mainly about viscosity, also all motor oils sold now have limited anti-wear ingredients like ZDDP zinc due to emissions systems being damaged as your car burns a small amount of oil, so one brand of oil can't really give you more additives than another - they all meet the same basic standards.
@@benzproductsno I was paying over 50$ for it at Repco in 1998. I checked online and u can get it for about 65$. I don't see it on any store shelf now though. I think all the 15$ 100ml bottles of PTFE to be used every oil change made slick 50 too expensive. Problem is these small bottle treatments don't look like dissolving particles small enough
@@Craig-ik2rb Did the car's engine only last 12k miles after treatment or do you mean the Slick50 benefits like the coating of PTFE only last 12k miles before needed another treatment? I had put as many as 3 qts Slick50 in my Mustang and it's running better than ever..

@@Craig-ik2rb Yeah, you probably have to retreat like every other oil change to be realistic about it. The original Slick50 was dreaming when they said it lasts 50,000 miles after 1 treatment!!

Project Farm is an idiot. He doubled the recommended concentration of Slick 50 right off the bat. That invalidates the entire experiment. Then he’s using two USED mowers that are different models and years. He used the Slick50 in the obviously older one.
I don't see how the PTFE will hurt an engine, if you look at the video where I cut open the oil filter after using 3 qts of Slick50. I was surprised to find the oil filter was not plugged up. The PTFE is supposed to coat the friction surfaces and help the engine run smoothly with less metal wearing.
@@Craig-ik2rb I've seen the motor oil geek channel, the guy is definitely a geek, being that he uses a lot of numbers but in reality doesn't know what he's talking about.. same with project farm, they are doing quick tests that are basically click bait and do not apply to what happens inside your engine over years..

The first time I used slick 50 in 1995 on my 93 Toyota Camry V6, and it was the most beneficial thing for my car’s engine until I sold it in 2000.
Now I use EZI Extra Power Lube for my Mercedes AMG and Saab Aero it is a very excellent product
Try using this new ceramic PTFE Slick50, it's working excellent in my mustang GT so far..

@@cruiser6260 That may have been the good stuff 😉 if particles of PTFE looked large, just have to bypass oil filter to get it to work right👍
@@cruiser6260 Also, to be fair, think this new Slick50 probably needs a quart every oil change if you really want it to protect well 🧐

No he didn't
He didn't get the real Slick 50, project farm used a slick50 maintenance additive..
XcelPlus is the original Slick 50 formula.
@@user-lj6gk4lv9s I will check into that. Is it still available?
