I was one of those who suggested these, they have some incredible songs, this is probably one of the more starter friendly songs for sure, just released new stuff too
Unfortunately, the backup singers were both ill for this show, so they were using a backing track. The studio version pushes the contrast between the clean and harsh vocals a bit more, both are so damn good, though. They have a new album, GREIF coming out in late August-4 tracks already released to YT too. The singles released already feature both melodic and heavy stuff, and I'm all about hearing the rest of it. Thanks for such a great reaction vid, I'm happy/sorry (not really at all sorry) that it was transfixing and you had to edit in a break. The power of music! :D
One of my favourite bands. One of my favourite songs. Cheers.
Hi, from what I remember it started on a forum thread and the topic was mixed 2 totally different genres of music which would be the result.
Then I think a guy asked the question what would it be like to mix "black" music with black metal?
Then it inspired the singer of Z&A to develop this question more deeply which gave its theme what if the black American slaves would have turned towards satan instead of God.
Take what I say with a grain of salt and correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I remember learning when I listened to the band when it came out.
That's the story I heard, with the 4chan user that suggested the mix using racist language, and Manuel Gagneux decided to take the challenge in a way of standing up to a bully. And because it's a challenge. Art from reaction is cool stuff.
In the studio, it has basically been a one-man-band (Manuel Gagneux), and his voice is just incredible as well; sweet cleans, soul, rasp, black metal screams, death metal growls... you can really hear him progress in all aspects of music making throughout the early work. The band is great though and with more recent work, they are stated to have been more involved in the studio process.
So excited for their new album in August ("Grief") and I'm going to see them in North America in December!
Heavy Metal is the Blues! At the most Extreme! We, Your Dudes, Love You, Sweet Melisa! No recommendations today. Maybe ,M.D. .45! Keep up the great work My Fine Scottish Lady!

@@scotthahn6666 aw I’m so sorry Scott! That’s so sad. I hope you can take some time to mourn. They were lucky to have you as their friend 💜💜💜
@@SoulSingerDiscovers I Love You!
@@scotthahn6666 hold strong brother.
A great band, what is interesting is hearing that vocalist speak in fluent German, being Swiss and not American, his blues accent is more remarkable for the fact that English is a second language.
Do enjoy me some Z&A. They have some really great tracks, though i cant really recall this one. I seem to gravitate towards the songs where he mixes metal more with the work song style of blues he does. Not that the other ones are bad!
It's one of my favourite bands 🖤 seen them live 2 times and can't wait for more. Did you check out the new album already? It is more calm and emotional, but it is still very experimental
I love Z&A
