Such an underrated band! One of my favorites. They have a really intense tribute to/modern nod to Strange Fruit, by Billie Holiday. Zeal & Ardor's song is called Stranger Fruit. Sadly both songs are as relevant as ever. Thanks for all the awesome reactions!
I love seeing people react to Zeal & Ardor, but I do love their live videos more. And I think this is a band that always needs context because the background is something special.
I both agree and disagree, the context is really something special and should be told because it is fascinating by itself but most of Zeal's song HIT FUCKING HARD even without that context which is what makes them special, they have great music that doesn't need to be explained but when you go for that explanation it just adds so much depth
Welcome to avant-garde metal a mixture of gospel Blues and black metal there's also some pretty dope performance videos as well if you want to just further down the rabbit hole
I'd had this album for awhile and listened to it, but only peripherally and today I decide to rock it and read the lyrics and when this song came on I was blown away...my new favorite by this metal machine!!! Hail Satan!!!
What a crazy band I've been listening to zeal and ardor for 2 years now. The singer wasn't even gunna do a metal band but someone online told him he couldn't do metal because he has a darker skin tone, now look at him singers of one of the best metal bands in my opinion.
"Imagine if the slaves had embraced Satan instead of Jesus. That's Zeal & Ardor music." - Manuel Gagneux
they better
They asked people what they thought would be a strange combination and the picked black metal and slave chants..totally works
@@clutch4141 nah, they asked for two genres and someone said black metal and N word music. Instead of being offended, Manuel did this perfection.
That is all just a beginning of an idea.
This whole album is a masterpiece.

Z&A are a totally unique and incredible experience.
We are all better off with them on the planet 🙌

I thought the verse started out sounding like Come together and then... it took a big left turn.
