Nice! They were playing at a festival where I live this weekend, I got blasted in the moshpit haha, and then I met Manuel at the bar afterwards and he was the nicest guy! So happy to have found this band!
Götterdamerung RIPS, one of the best Z+A songs out there. Don’t worry if you missed the lyrics. The guy screams in both German and Latin in this song, the only time he says anything in English is when he hits the clean vocals lol.
“Gagneux later stated the band came from the question of "what if American slaves had embraced Satan instead of Jesus?"” I love thinking about this while listening to their music. I gives such a wonderful context to it.
Do more of them, Noelle! I will give 3 suggestions, kind of with varying degrees of gospel to black metal. The song that shows a good example of their mixing of the two genres is blood in the river, from but you MUST do the live version "off road sessions" since this first album had a very different production, and the performance is great. For a straight up super creepy, aggressive track do "run", they have a music video. Lighting was amazing live on that one, btw. And finally gravedigger's chant is almost not metal, very gospel focused. Worth noting is that götterdämmerung is very different from ALL their music, sort of, I think, idk hard to explain, it's more groove and riff focused. Ill add one final thing: their song built on ashes is one of the most beautiful songs ever made IMO, again hard to explain, but I'd recommend doing it later on, or listening on your own time. It's the finale of a pretty exceptional album, so it's A LOT, as a song. I really hope you do some more Z & A! Also, go out of your way to see them live any way possible, cause they are AMAZING live, 3 vocalists, great energy, great liveshow. Manuel's voice is POWERFUL live.
Once drove 5+ hours to see Manuel when they came to the US and got to meet him. Completely worth it. And the band was so incredibly welcoming.

Please listen to the whole album, its soooo good, like a movie soundtrack, with ups and downs, calm and brutal

Hahhah that makes sense x)
I love Z&A! I saw them four times last year and met Manuel at one of the shows, he's a lovely guy.
These guys don't miss. Every song they make is a banger, and they're even better live than in studio
The song slaps for sure, will be checking out the band. Vocals remind me of Equilibrium as well, but heavier ofcourse
Yes! Zeal & Ardor is so good!

I've seen them twice but never really listened to them other than that. This song was very different from my memories of the live shows.
Watch a live version of their song Built on Ashes. The guy is a very good singer.
Wow! estou apaixonado por essa banda! sinto algo BR em você! kkkkk great reaction!
Sou brasileira, rapaz! hahaha
