I personally am a fan of both brands but a quick internet search shows that you van get a 2017 corolla for way less than a civic and personally I want to save money if i can
Not a single mention of standard safety features. Toyota has radar cruise control, forward collision prevention, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, auto on/off high beams. Many car enthusiasts like myself actually love analog gauges by the way.
I really don't know why all the car reviewers never mention anything about reliability?!!! Normal people should have to have some information about the cars reliability from people who owned similar cars in the past 5 years or so. No one really gives a damn now about 10 or 20 more hp or torque in these cars segment! Just look at a 2007 corolla and 2007 civic and ask both owners how much money both spent on spare parts and service and you will know the difference between a good car and a reliable car which can run for 200k miles without a single problem. Toyota is always a winner

$23k Better off buying an Accord Sport or if you want a Civic nevertheless, just get a Civic Sport Hatchback or Civic Hatchback EX (atleast the Civic Hatchback makes more sense than the Sedan's styling).

Toyota wins hands down for the cheap interior and being underpowered not to mention the dashboard in the Toyota Corolla looks ancient. The Honda Civic looks more aggressive, looks bigger, and has more power.
I must say, that just for the sports tuned SE trim, the Corolla handles really well, especially around corners and on curved roads and ramps. The EX due to it's pliant suspension, simply cannot be driven at the same speed on the same curves, the differences become even more noticeable when you drive during a rain. Ah the windshield wipers are also better in Corolla. But unless you are driving both of these cars daily and on the same route, you wouldn't notice these small things. If it's my money, I will of course buy the Civic. btw, my wife bought a corolla! ;). I sure did make my feelings known about the designer of the car (but not her choice lol).
totally agree, to the point that if this goes on for a few more years, Toyota (both Corolla and Camry) will cease to be a credible competitor to Honda (Civic and Accord).
feels like a very biased review to me. I test drove a 2017 Honda Civic EAX when I went to go look at my 17 corolla SE. The civic I think was a wonderful vehicle, I don’t understand why reviewers gives a Corolla such a bad name. They didn’t mention the adaptive cruise control, what an amazing feature. I just think they’re very biased people in this review, which sucks because I’ve watch these people for years. But the Corolla is a good car don’t listen to them
I wish Honda and Toyota would make some simple base models. Driving the same, but with less power options and features. Bring back the DX. That way we have a long lasting enjoyable car at a much lower price. I can get a Corolla LE, a well equipped car, jut slightly less so that the SE, for $15000. Not that bad! Now, make these cars less feature full, maybe we can get a great car for -13 grand. The Fit should at least offer a simpler model for that much, or less.
my mother got a 2016 corolla but before had a 03 accord, and the honda was reliable, she bought it used and got rid of it at around 230,000 kilometers mostly because she hated the V6's gas economy, now this new 2016 Corolla does about 7.6-7.9/100km depending if i'm the one driving lol, but for the first 1-2 seconds of taking off from a stop it feels like you almost don't have an engine, but it corners well, and would make a good economy daily driver if you care nothing for enthusiast car stuff.
I got a 1999 Corolla too, passed down from my dad, he drove it from the valley to the Bay area everyday, it has 361k miles and all it has no real issues other than a beat up interior and no A/C.
You are right, the Toyota is definitely less maintenance than Honda. It also has a much quieter and comfortable drive. If you want a sporty drive, then buy a real sports car like a Porsche!
Corolla for practical reasons. Much lower maintenance costs, much lesser insurance cost, better reliability, much better on gas than a Civic. I would rather use my extra money to travel than spend it on a sportier car. What good is a sportier car if that does not give you money to travel and go places. Lol.
Great comparison guys. The Civic has more power, superior handling, better features and fuel economy (31/42/36)... not even a close call... ABSOLUTELY no contest.
Gregory Perkins Yes, the Touring costs a lot more... but here they're comparing models under $23K MSRP (with Destination & Handling)... so in this context, the Civic wins hands down. Moreover, even the top trim (XSE) of the Corolla is no match for the mid trim (EX) of the Civic.
Superior handling, hardly comparing handling is nonsense it changes its all up to the owner and what he wants to do and how much they are willing to spend. I have a Corolla and have spent significant money on performance upgrades and it would beat a new Honda Civic when it comes to sporty ride and handling. I know because I've spent significant time driving a new Civic.
Amazing how many butt-hurt Toyota fanbois are showing up to defend -- the Corolla? It has been a dull lump of transportation for a while now. Of course it isn't as fun as the Civic. It hasn't been for a long, long time. The outcome of the comparison was very predictable.
yeah the Civic was so awesome last generation with its star trek 2 tier dash board. The new Civic yes is very nice inside but push it hard and have lots of fun you better change the tires and suspension because if not the only thing you will end up doing is going straight off the road.
People who own a Civic Or Toyota love what they own and will stand up for what they have. But Toyota is the number 1 car company in the world and will always be. Butt Hurt or not that is a fact.
Ok ok ok all you toyota hardcore fans. Toyota has only one good thing it's known for and that is it's reliability and dependability. But it has nothing else. I have owned 4 Hondas and just bought a 2018 Civic just like the one in this video. I don't know why y'all are bitching so much about Hondas. Toyota and Honda are the 2 best car brands on the market right now. Honda is just as reliable and dependable as Toyota. But I have to admit Toyota is lacking way behind when it comes to technology and their car designs. The Corolla look's like the typical average car design. It has nothing exciting about it and it rides like a piece of tin can on wheels. Their interior materials feel cheap and outdated. The Honda Civic on the other hand it feels modern and all their interior materials are perfectly crafted and stiched up like a luxury car. They handle so well and are fun to drive. After owning 2 Honda Civics, 1 Honda Accord and my current brand new 2018 Civic I will never buy anything else that is not a Honda. I have never had any kind of problems or anything has broke while owning a Honda product. Honda brand is the #1 best car brand in the Consumer Reports market. Fortunately Toyota is still #2. So my best advice to y'all Honda shunning people, Test drive a Honda Civic or any Honda vehicle and I will guarantee you, you will never go back to a Toyota. CHEERS!
Toyota any day anytime time ......they makes the best vehicles in the world ....forget about all the fancy shuff it takes you where you wants to go an bring you back ...everyday everytime.
Toyota all day it's all about longevity Toyota handle neglect better than most cars they just dont die 44 million sold vs 24 million sold for Honda let's see how much it cost to fix that digital dash when your sensors go on in a few years the more fansy the more sensor's you have equals more problems later Toyota makes it simple less sensor's less problems later on.
As an owner of both currently, I can tell you that the civic is more fun to drive stock. my rolla has the typical basic shit exh, cai, tein coilovers, some nice ass window visors/rain guard, a roof lip and vortex and just took of my GT Spoiler. Hands down my rolla got many positive looks and I enjoy driving it still. It's an S premium from 2014 I think it still holds up well looks wise to the 2017 even though I love the front of the 17s. now let's talk civic, I have a hatch ST, its fully loaded like my rolla the difference is obvi in the looks, power, and believe it when I tell you it does better on gas too, I prob get like 70 more miles in the civic. it has a full blown eco mode, along with regular and sport mode. now I personally think the hatch calls way more attention then the 4 door civic and it's seems to be pretty rare on the streets still. I'm being very honest when I say the corolla interior is ancient but it feels better made. the civic has a very plastic feel even though the dash in general is way nicer to look at the sport comes with the red background light which is a nice touch. also just to add a different flavor if you guys want to look at something nice, there are guys lowering the C-HR and if you ask me it looks like what the rolla hatch should have been, I'm not a fan of the im. both are great cars don't get it twisted, but if your budget allows you to go for the civic hatch sport or sport touring go for it. It's just more fun right out the box with out the need for the usual upgrades. If your looking for something that looks aggressive but isn't, the rolla is for you. hope who ever reads this finds it helpful. take care fam.
It's not even a comparison if you want to talk about longevity and reliability Toyota beats Honda hands down Honda isn't what it used to be I know from personal experience
The Corolla is the best. It sells in over 180 countries. It's the number one compact car in the USA and world. I'm looking forward for the 2020 Corolla.
You buy a Corolla 4 one reason, and one reason only, and that's reliability. there is a reason it sales more cars in its class year after year,... it;s not the best looking car, fastest, and the interior is very bland as it as always been,,,,, but the Corolla is basically the car you buy to get you from point A- to point B.. and it will do that 4 many years to come with no problems if you keep up the maintain it
Heyu Yoma Actually there are muny issues besides the infotainment system. just check out the civic forums and you'll see a ton of issues that will make you swear you'll never buy another new car in its first or second year.
I think the first year reliablity has been low for the Tacoma. They base this on the owners survey, they don't skew the data one way or another. Also this is the another 1st year redesign. Furthermore, it does seem like more and more cars are made to break down as this reaps huge profits for the car manufacturers..Sure, the cars/trucks/suvs that sell 30,000 a month or more like the RAV4, CRV, Camry, Corolla are prob going to be more reliable as these are the bread and butter of their respective companies. Yes, the Civic is supposed to be reliable, I think this go around is a little different as it's a huge redesign and the more expensive trimlines with more tech seem to have the most problems. Still, I've seen posts about welds, transmissions, seals, cracks, creaks, and on and on. There's a Civic sport hatch owner on UA-cam that loves his new ride but he already has had problems with several lights on the dash, causing the Civic to drive rough..he took it into the dealer and they had trouble replicating the problem. He still loves his car but he admits there's something to worry about..will the lights come back on? Will it be easily fixed? etc. It sucks to take a car back into the dealer the 1st or 2nd month you've had it. The Civic forum I follow has 905 posts about issues, repairs, etc. www.civicx.com/forums/issues-repairs-warranty-tsb-recalls.42/ It's not just Consumer Reports saying the reliablity of the new Civic is below standard. There's a whole lot of info out there that tells you something just isn't right.
Drove the new Civic nice inside but have to agree with Eric Haynes there is nothing to worry about mechanical wise on a Civic. Honda knows engines as good or better then anyone and their CVT is fantastic I also have to say CVT's are awesome liking them more and more. Way to go Honda and Toyota for standing by them and not worrying about what these so called enthusiast's say they don't make up the majority of the car buying market anyway.
Look at the real world. Toyota and Honda are both excellent in the real world. Corolla usually appeals to a more sedate or older kind of driver than the Civic. Honda drivers seem to be more agressive with their cars. To each their own. Consumer Reports and JD Power have lost a lot of credibility these last few years...
The Civic and Corolla used to be THE compact economy cars at the top of their class. They just aren't anymore. Long-term quality isn't what it used to be. These days you're better off saving a couple thousand and getting a better warranted Hyundai Elantra or Kia Forte, who have come a LONG way in the last 20yrs. With that being said, between these two choices, my money is on Civic. Seems like a much more substantial and better quality car. Corolla looks and seems rather cheap in comparison.
Well I have heard issues with the Honda engines and my 17 Corolla has 152,000 miles on it and still runs like new and I just recently seen a 2017 Corolla with nearly 300,000 miles on it
@@connordurham8216 I didn't say 4yrs ago that they are bad cars, I just said they aren't as good as they used to be. Since my comment, I bought a new 2018 Elantra and love it and have since driven a 2020 Corolla for several days as a rental while on vacation. The Elantra hands down is the nicer car. Better build quality, interior materials, and much more engaging to drive. Long-term reliability probably won't be as good as the Corolla, but I dislike the Corolla styling and the way it drives enough to still prefer the Elantra.
D.J. Wheaton The redesign is going to be in 2019 & BMW will be producing the engine for the Corolla...Don't believe me? Just use your google,BMW & Toyota have worked together before & it has been said that the 2019 Corolla will have a BMW engine, now lets see ppl complain.
penvon Yikes. Let's hope Toyota can keep their reliability with BMW's engine. The thing puzzles me os that BMW & TOYOTA are working together. You may be right though, there may be good and bad things from it though.
D.J. Wheaton BMW engines are usually reliable,it's their other electronics that seem to be shaky & that GM built automatic transmissions they had in the early 2000's...(not sure if it's still being used)... Now with that being said, ppl will still hate on Toyota no matter what, but Toyota isn't worried, they'll still sell, they're better at navigating the market than Honda per say. www.google.ca/amp/www.digitaltrends.com/cars/toyotas-next-corolla-may-get-an-engine-swap-courtesy-of-bmw/amp/
Thanks for the un-needed advice. There is no reason for you to report me. BTW, I have many Americans friends who told me that my English is very good, that's why I mentioned: " unneeded advice " :) I won't report you because I don't have a reason for that, have a great night, bro!
After the unintended acceleration issues with Toyotas, Toyota's selling point now has to be safety (i.e. why the safety features (autonomous emergency braking) are now standard), although the 2013-2016 Corolla had a marginal small offset crash rating, with likely lower leg injury in that crash test. When I purchase cars, safety is the #1 selling feature, even before reliability.
it is time for Toyota to go to 2.0 engine or a turbocharged engine as an option. I find the news style very nice and redesigned despite what they say in the video. Very nice Toyota and Honda.
For the Civic Id prefer the base 2.0 over the 1.5t because of longitivity. The turbo is overall impressive but its too new. The Corolla the other hand is butt ugly.
All these triggered Corolla owners be acting like the Corolla is soo much more reliable than the civic is kind of petty. Like stop trying to make the civic sound like a focus. Everyone knows that civics are reliable Japanese cars like the Corolla except the civic is a lot more refined with better handling, faster acceleration, and a much quieter engine.
I would love to see these cars tested with 200k on each. That would show me what to buy. Corolla has an interesting front end. But Civic is just but ugly " in my opinion"
Civic has an all new platform while the Corolla is old and not competitive. It's clear the Civic is automatically superior. Corolla will get the TNGA platform for MY 19 but that's awhile away.
I am not a fan of either but I will say this... that toyota will out live that honda two times over.... if you dont believe me.... Camry> Hold my beer!
132 hp ? really Toyota is that the best you can do? Please tell your engineers and for that matter your designers and build a proper Corolla that is worthy of the history this storied company has. How about a modern take on the AE 86 ? Your Corolla is falling way behind of the Golf, Civic, 3, and Elantra
Wait, a corolla is 1.8 whereas the civic is 2.0. The civic eats more gas than a corolla. What? all the sudden you began shitting money? or gas is free where you're from?
Eddy Boh have you looked at the fuel economy of both cars...the civic comes with a 1.5 that is faster then the 2. The civic is almost the same fuel efficacy as the corolla but with more balls and better handleing.
I'm a Toyota fan but i ended up getting the Civic..the styling, more powerful engine and roomy bsck seat got me...i have to say the Civic is the best car i have owned so far..
i just closed a deal on one today :) was cheaper in Canada, and i got free roadside assistance for 7 years!!! also - about $40 cheaper on insurance a month not even a close competitor
Obviously you guys got paid by honda but to me the 2 cars are grate, corolla very good safety features are standard, but civic body style is nicer and little stronger, now for those with turbo, wanna see them in a few years, get your pocket ready, and those cvt s really don't like them.
El Civic más bonito,más prestaciones,más pantallita,,más depresiacion, menos fiabilidad, menos volumen de venta, menos confiabilidad, menos dinero por tu reventa. Lo siento
Rear end of the civic is a eye sore. Front end of that Corolla looked better BEFORE this facelift. The next gen corolla should be dropping anytime now. Both are overpriced for what they are.
ER B if you honestly think these cars are worth 23 grand your stupid. You like to waste money. You like having car loans and you need to be in the newest car. They love people like you
You can get the new Civic with a 1.5l turbo and stick shift with near fully loaded (minus leather seats, Honda sensing, NAV, and the 450watt sound system (standard on coupe ex-t and above) for less then $22k and can be talked down to $21k.
Ask any mechanic. The debate between the reliability and longevity of either Honda or Toyota are pretty much the same. The difference is, Honda simply has better styling and performance overall.
They don't mention how awful the Civics reliability has been over the past five or six years. Check out consumerreports.org for proof of that while the Corolla is still the number one rated when it comes to reliability and safety. The Corolla come standard with automatic emergency braking and every available safety option standard equipment. Notice how these boys who were paid for this review forget to mention that?
If you guys want a fast car then get one stop downing the Corolla for being slow. Its very reliable and way better fuel economy then the Honda Civic. Longevity is awesome for the Corolla.
My brother owns a 2014 Civic and I just went on a 1000 mi road trip with him and will never do it again. I am 6'1" and was very cramped even though I had the front passenger seat all the way back. I think you guys need to consider comfort way above electronics, when recommending a car.
The Civic is a FAR better looking and funner drive than the Civic. It’s a much better car for the first few years. However, if you want the car to last you much longer and keep lower maintenance costs, the Toyota is the way to go.
If you care about long term. You really are better off with Toyota. Cannot stand how big the Civic is now. The Fit is over packaged. Bring back some DX models, Honda. Just simple good affordable cars.
They are comparing a base model Civic to a upper trim Corolla. A base model Corolla is $18,500. Also all models of Toyota's come with standard Toyota safety sense. Civic has been having reliability issues since 2016. Toyota rock solid reliability. Toyota all the way.
Dude, that is not a base model Civic. EX? No no, the base model is LX, and EX is one of the upper trims. That being said, I still love Toyota... That's only because I have a Toyota though...
I have Crolla 2017 the transmission wasn't engaged it has problems, they gave a Civic 2020 as loaner car. what a beautiful driving on Civic, bye bye Corolla.
these hondas are already having alot of problems the same reason why i didnt get the si it was a joke as i was at the dealer guy was pulling in with his new si bringing it in cause the check engine light was coming on he walked up to me and said to forget these cars he had already brought it to the dealer like 4 times. lol toyotas live forever !!! honda can never make a quality car like toyota. my wife has a 1991 prelude falling apart my 91 celica isnt, everything is original mine 114k miles prelude has 92k miles toyotas are always better hands down
I leased a 2017 corolla and the cvt transmission sucks beyond belief. Completely gutless. Any power it has is diminished even further by the shit transmission.
Like WOW civic trashy sterio and ultra thin windshield a friend of mine replaced at least 3 times now and very uncomfortable seats feel like you are dragging you're ass around on the ground and no room in the back seat unlike the Corolla LE
i have a honda crx, it runs like a champ. i reupholstered the seat once. change oil every 3500 miles and basic tune up every 30k. nothing else. I've had the car 17 years. theres no rust. i have a videos on my channel about it
Big point to Toyota for offering (standard) adaptive cruise with manual transmission (Corolla SE 6MT), but that's it for Toyota. Everything else, Honda is better.
I work with both brands in Ireland and Honda is much better quality, Toyota here is scrap and definitely not as reliable as I thought they were, Honda have flaws too but still a far better all around buy
The civic looks like a beetle with a 2.0 gas intake (eats more gas than a corolla 1.8). We're comparing roughly 18K for a corolla looking sedan vs the civic 23K looking beetle
It’s called build a car Honda has same options and cost a little more than Toyota I have owned both over the years I’m not racing my car I’m driving my car
And one is more comfortable the one you call a pig I also have driven the Honda Civic very uncomfortable cheap glass and yes more powerful but cheaply made noisy
Ok look here I am gonna compare these 2 sedans I'd say The Corolla because It's nice and I'm a big fan of Toyota but look If your obsessed with safety the Corolla is the car for you! You should also thank Toyota for making the Toyota Corolla standard

Base models have lower profit margins, and cars in this segment and the fit operate on razor thin margins.
The only reason I'm interested in the Toyota is the longevity of it, all the other aspects I can ignore.

my mother got a 2016 corolla but before had a 03 accord, and the honda was reliable, she bought it used and got rid of it at around 230,000 kilometers mostly because she hated the V6's gas economy, now this new 2016 Corolla does about 7.6-7.9/100km depending if i'm the one driving lol, but for the first 1-2 seconds of taking off from a stop it feels like you almost don't have an engine, but it corners well, and would make a good economy daily driver if you care nothing for enthusiast car stuff.
I got a 1999 Corolla too, passed down from my dad, he drove it from the valley to the Bay area everyday, it has 361k miles and all it has no real issues other than a beat up interior and no A/C.
The corolla has a more comfortable ride than the Civic, a lil bit quiter too, at least from my experience
You are right, the Toyota is definitely less maintenance than Honda. It also has a much quieter and comfortable drive. If you want a sporty drive, then buy a real sports car like a Porsche!
Looks are always subjective. Stick to the facts: MPG, horsepower, features, safety ratings etc.
Corolla for practical reasons. Much lower maintenance costs, much lesser insurance cost, better reliability, much better on gas than a Civic. I would rather use my extra money to travel than spend it on a sportier car. What good is a sportier car if that does not give you money to travel and go places. Lol.
Giscard Rous um I have 2 civics i travel and go places lmao that is what a car is for
Destiny Bordeaux ikr this guy sounds like an idioy
I like corolla 2018
Great comparison guys. The Civic has more power, superior handling, better features and fuel economy (31/42/36)... not even a close call... ABSOLUTELY no contest.
better features? well a loaded civic is a lot more money
Most people get 42 MPG highway on the Corolla.
uhh no? fuelly.com has 28 cars for 2017 and 135 for 2016 and 177 vehicles for 2015 and the avergae is about 31-32
Superior handling, hardly comparing handling is nonsense it changes its all up to the owner and what he wants to do and how much they are willing to spend.
Who would have ever thought that a car like the AE86 would evolve into something like this? It's crazy..
whoobibi it’s like the Chevy Cruze BORING!
CHEERS!
Toyota Corolla is the number one selling car in the world right now so please do your research before posting the consumer reports.
Toyota any day anytime time ......they makes the best vehicles in the world ....forget about all the fancy shuff it takes you where you wants to go an bring you back ...everyday everytime.
You gotta admit that the civic engine is lil bit better than Toyota.... and I own a Toyota
I may be wrong, but I think the C chape of the taillights is from the C in Civic. :D
Rebel Rouser youre definitely wrong
It's not even a comparison if you want to talk about longevity and reliability Toyota beats Honda hands down Honda isn't what it used to be I know from personal experience
The Corolla is the best. It sells in over 180 countries. It's the number one compact car in the USA and world. I'm looking forward for the 2020 Corolla.
you don't want to see a mechanic? go for corolla, you want fun? go civic
Salamander IRQ I've always had a civic never had to see mechanic but for oil change and I drive alot.
What the hell is wrong with the design team at Honda that thing is Ugly.
Phantom096 it's sexy
I would rather compare the Civic to the Elantra now honestly.
You buy a Corolla 4 one reason, and one reason only, and that's reliability. there is a reason it sales more cars in its class year after year,... it;s not the best looking car, fastest, and the interior is very bland as it as always been,,,,, but the Corolla is basically the car you buy to get you from point A- to point B.. and it will do that 4 many years to come with no problems if you keep up the maintain it
As far as reliability goes lets be honest Honda is there with Toyota as well.
aaanndddd the Civic is rated a 57 by Consumer Reports because of all the problems this new radical design is causing.
Heyu Yoma Actually there are muny issues besides the infotainment system. just check out the civic forums and you'll see a ton of issues that will make you swear you'll never buy another new car in its first or second year.
ya i dont believe them after they said the tacoma was very unreliable and not to buy it
I think the first year reliablity has been low for the Tacoma.
The Civic forum I follow has 905 posts about issues, repairs, etc. www.civicx.com/forums/issues-repairs-warranty-tsb-recalls.42/
It's not just Consumer Reports saying the reliablity of the new Civic is below standard. There's a whole lot of info out there that tells you something just isn't right.
vlog adventures with rob? i love his videos
Drove the new Civic nice inside but have to agree with Eric Haynes there is nothing to worry about mechanical wise on a Civic. Honda knows engines as good or better then anyone and their CVT is fantastic I also have to say CVT's are awesome liking them more and more. Way to go Honda and Toyota for standing by them and not worrying about what these so called enthusiast's say they don't make up the majority of the car buying market anyway.
civic is 100.00.000 times better than corolla!
Lol preachh
Look at the real world. Toyota and Honda are both excellent in the real world. Corolla usually appeals to a more sedate or older kind of driver than the Civic. Honda drivers seem to be more agressive with their cars. To each their own. Consumer Reports and JD Power have lost a lot of credibility these last few years...
ur time is wrong man
The Civic and Corolla used to be THE compact economy cars at the top of their class.
Both overpriced, but the I hope Toyota gives the Corolla a nice redesign for 2018.
Toyota's redesigns keep getting worse.
Justin David Eh. I think they did better with the all-new Camry, but that's my opinion.

3:06 "reasonably responsive" damn, not for me...
Salty Toyota Fanboys below, beware.
Unknown Entity oh but if it was the other way around Honda bitches would be mad
Of course, the Chervolet Camaro is better than both of them, but also, cost more.....
Transformers fan anyone??
my dream car honda civic
I'd prefer the Toyota Corolla SE - XSE .
wow.. lipstick on a pig. . gotta remember that.
Why you said this, this is very bad statement and one of the worst phrases I've ever read. Report!
Khaled Saleh Your English is some of the worst grammar I’ve ever heard, REPORTED!
Thanks for the un-needed advice. There is no reason for you to report me. BTW, I have many Americans friends who told me that my English is very good, that's why I mentioned: " unneeded advice " :)
I won't report you because I don't have a reason for that, have a great night, bro!
My 2003 Toyota Corolla just hit 300,000 Mi. Still runs good, doesn't burn oil, and sounds good.
Your Corolla is falling way behind of the Golf, Civic, 3, and Elantra
alpha7ization so agreed
Wait, a corolla is 1.8 whereas the civic is 2.0. The civic eats more gas than a corolla. What? all the sudden you began shitting money? or gas is free where you're from?
Eddy Boh have you looked at the fuel economy of both cars...the civic comes with a 1.5 that is faster then the 2. The civic is almost the same fuel efficacy as the corolla but with more balls and better handleing.
The civic 👍🏻
I'm a Toyota fan but i ended up getting the Civic..the styling, more powerful engine and roomy bsck seat got me...i have to say the Civic is the best car i have owned so far..
i just closed a deal on one today :)
was cheaper in Canada, and i got free roadside assistance for 7 years!!!
also - about $40 cheaper on insurance a month
not even a close competitor
Nice to see two Honda fan boys pick a Honda lol
Doesn’t Toyota race NASCAR, why give us boring vanilla cars! Might as well buy a soccer mom suv or mini van!
Obviously you guys got paid by honda but to me the 2 cars are grate, corolla very good safety features are standard, but civic body style is nicer and little stronger, now for those with turbo, wanna see them in a few years, get your pocket ready, and those cvt s really don't like them.
I personally would take the Camry than a Corolla. That thing has the smoothest gearbox I've ever felt.
I think the Civic is a lot better, but it's more expensive. So why shouldn't it be?
El Civic más bonito,más prestaciones,más pantallita,,más depresiacion, menos fiabilidad, menos volumen de venta, menos confiabilidad, menos dinero por tu reventa. Lo siento
I really like the Corolla. I would get it. But I do think the back of the Corolla needs an update. The front looks really good to me.
Rear end of the civic is a eye sore. Front end of that Corolla looked better BEFORE this facelift.
The next gen corolla should be dropping anytime now. Both are overpriced for what they are.
Toyota4Life how is the Civic overpriced?
ER B if you honestly think these cars are worth 23 grand your stupid. You like to waste money. You like having car loans and you need to be in the newest car. They love people like you
you didn't explain how its overpriced?
You can get the new Civic with a 1.5l turbo and stick shift with near fully loaded (minus leather seats, Honda sensing, NAV, and the 450watt sound system (standard on coupe ex-t and above) for less then $22k and can be talked down to $21k.
uhhh no
Ask any mechanic. The debate between the reliability and longevity of either Honda or Toyota are pretty much the same.
The difference is, Honda simply has better styling and performance overall.
Civic EX-T is great! Test drove a ton of stuff and nothing came close to competing within this price range. Love the turbo!
love my ext it's awesome!
3:22 Guy looks like Hawkeye
ewww cvt...
Both cars have CVT transmission not good.
If you guys want a fast car then get one stop downing the Corolla for being slow. Its very reliable and way better fuel economy then the Honda Civic. Longevity is awesome for the Corolla.
Honda civic has won
My brother owns a 2014 Civic and I just went on a 1000 mi road trip with him and will never do it again. I am 6'1" and was very cramped even though I had the front passenger seat all the way back. I think you guys need to consider comfort way above electronics, when recommending a car.
Treasure Hunter but this one was a 2017 my husband is 6 foot has no complaints in ours.
It's not a luxury SUV for 1000 mile journey lol, it's for a quick rip down the highway to work and back
The Civic is a FAR better looking and funner drive than the Civic.
DougRulz base model doesn't have touch screen or sunroof.
21k. I know I own one
That’s not a base Civic.
Dude, that is not a base model Civic. EX? No no, the base model is LX, and EX is one of the upper trims.
That being said, I still love Toyota... That's only because I have a Toyota though...
Civic sedan trims from lowest to highest (not including Si): LX, EX, EX-T, EX-L, Touring.
If you want excellent reliability go with the Toyota if you want a little sporty drive and good reliability go with the civic
I have Crolla 2017 the transmission wasn't engaged it has problems, they gave a Civic 2020 as loaner car. what a beautiful driving on Civic, bye bye Corolla.
LED headlight is luring me
these hondas are already having alot of problems the same reason why i didnt get the si it was a joke as i was at the dealer guy was pulling in with his new si bringing it in cause the check engine light was coming on he walked up to me and said to forget these cars he had already brought it to the dealer like 4 times. lol toyotas live forever !!! honda can never make a quality car like toyota. my wife has a 1991 prelude falling apart my 91 celica isnt, everything is original mine 114k miles prelude has 92k miles toyotas are always better hands down
I leased a 2017 corolla and the cvt transmission sucks beyond belief.
I'll stick with the accord...
The Toyota will still be on the road 10 years after the Honda is rusted away sitting in a junk yard.
Heyu Yoma haha. doubt it. I've had my civic for over 12 years. still runs perfect
Its common knowledge Toyotas last the longest. No comparison for reliability and longevity.
i have a honda crx, it runs like a champ. i reupholstered the seat once. change oil every 3500 miles and basic tune up every 30k. nothing else. I've had the car 17 years. theres no rust. i have a videos on my channel about it
lol...had 03 civic, for over 10 years, no prob!!! plz....went thru 4 drivers...
Have 2017 civic like this...I love it...drives great, get compliments on it...all the time!
Big point to Toyota for offering (standard) adaptive cruise with manual transmission (Corolla SE 6MT), but that's it for Toyota.
Everything else, Honda is better.
I work with both brands in Ireland and Honda is much better quality, Toyota here is scrap and definitely not as reliable as I thought they were, Honda have flaws too but still a far better all around buy
best sedan for rough road ???
Civic all day baby. Yeeah such a beast
The civic looks like a beetle with a 2.0 gas intake (eats more gas than a corolla 1.8). We're comparing roughly 18K for a corolla looking sedan vs the civic 23K looking beetle
Toyota last longer but don’t look as cool as Civic,Toyota has less power compared to the Civic but is cheaper in price. So it’s a toss up.
It’s called build a car Honda has same options and cost a little more than Toyota I have owned both over the years I’m not racing my car I’m driving my car
My civic lasted way longer than my corolla
Compare the civic with the mazda 3
And one is more comfortable the one you call a pig I also have driven the Honda Civic very uncomfortable cheap glass and yes more powerful but cheaply made noisy
Ok look here I am gonna compare these 2 sedans I'd say The Corolla because It's nice and I'm a big fan of Toyota but look If your obsessed with safety the Corolla is the car for you! You should also thank Toyota for making the Toyota Corolla standard
I AM TOO
