- "Wanderin'"
Justin Townes Earle, son of musician Steve Earle and the namesake of Townes Van Zandt, is no stranger to the troubled times he sings about in his songs. The singer-songwriter struggled with drug addiction most of his life, but ultimately kicked the habit and put his life back in order. His blend of folk, blues, and country has an old-fashioned feel to it. He released his third album, "Harlem River Blues", earlier this year and stopped by the KXT studios to play a few songs during the KXT Afternoon Show.
I was there. Had interviewed him for a show in Dallas. He invited me to come to the studio earlier in the day of the show. He was struggling, you could tell. He also did Slipping and Sliding. I just wanted to hug him, feed him and let him rest. Bless his sweet gentle soul. 💔
I sure miss him
Was so handsome and so talented ❤
Wish I had heard of him before.
thank you Mr. Earle for paying homage to some of the best music in the world. You are appreciated and you will be remembered for your respect for your roots. I love everything you do.
I miss you Justin..... 💜🎶💜🎶💜
Some men are just born that way.
No doubt about the kids got talent. Old man stands in the shadows.
RIP JTE
Loved his music, so sad
Great songs and beautiful vocals
Even though his father will always be my great favorite, I love Justin's voice. God bless him.
Love this guy
From the "Americana Files", they play this on WSM radio all the time.
Goddamn his voice was good here.
R.I.P. thanks
Amazing
He’s actually using a pick!
Lol yeah it's amazing. Thought he forgot how. Or maybe he finally learned how to use one.
Talk drivel.
He never needed a pick.
To pick or not to pick? 🤔 That is the question…☝️😎
Reminds me of “If I Should Fall From Grace with God” by the Pogues
Amazing how much he looks like his daddy circa 1985.
Sl04• are you truly saying it’s “Amazing” how much a son looks like his father?
Alright, ok ......
Not really maybe closer to 1990
More like 94 when Steve was binging crack
Oh alright. I know what pickups are. I just didn't know they have them for acoustic guitars as well. Thanks though sir! :)
what a tragic loss to music
Sorry for my ignorance, but what is that thing in the center of his acoustic guitar? And what does it do? Thank you!
Never apologize for ignorance if your willing to ask the questions in the first place. Ignorance is stopping with learning, you my friend are not ignorant.
it may be 7 years, but that is a LR Baggs Pickup, it picks up the vibrations of the strings, and basically sends the signal to the amplifier and/or mixer/ D.I. unit
@@daniellelodewijks3445 you are lovely !
what guitar is that??
Sven Svendelson it looks like a vintage style Gibson
@ocmslover no, he was pretty messed up here.
Yes. He was. Trashed, really. I wondered how he stayed upright. Such a sweet guy. 💔
Not a big fan of his music. Just found out that he even existed today. Listened to a few of his songs.. hated them all except this one.
what a compliment
To each his own I guess. I just discovered him too and I can't get enough.
And you felt compelled to share that. Huh.
Hey… nobody’s a fan of anything you do. Just a friendly reminder. Woody 😂
@@brandonabbott6225 you're a jerk. Just saying. I never insulted his music at all just said it wasn't my style which is fine not every music is to everyone's liking. All I said was that at least I could enjoy one song by him. You didn't have to be an ass or who knows maybe you did idk.
