- "Slippin' and Slidin'"
Justin Townes Earle, son of musician Steve Earle and the namesake of Townes Van Zandt, is no stranger to the troubled times he sings about in his songs. The singer-songwriter struggled with drug addiction most of his life, but ultimately kicked the habit and put his life back in order. His blend of folk, blues, and country has an old-fashioned feel to it. He released his third album, "Harlem River Blues", earlier this year and stopped by the KXT studios to play a few songs during the KXT Afternoon Show.
Such an incredible talent. Lost.
JTE was beloved. I hope he knew that. ❤️
I went to call you the other day and immediately burst into tears man. I miss you brother. Fly high JTE
He was the real deal! RIP ♥️
I just heard his music for the first time two weeks ago. The next day I learned who he was and what happened. I spent the day listening to his music and literally cried at times. RIP brother
Me too, I found out about the same time you did from his Dad's channel on a Guitar Town segment, broke my heart! Discovering his music has been bittersweet, to say the least, gotta watch them drugs folks, they took another amazing talent way too soon!
I felt that same way
So much feeling in his singing and playing. Too much to handle.
Can't believe he's gone
I absolutely love this dude❤🕺
Heartbreaking to watch then and even more so now. He was brilliant. RIP

I was there in the studio. Amazing talent. Went to his show that night. Best one I've ever seen.
Wow! What an amazing treat to see him play up close like that!
@@matthewrbales25It was. I interviewed him for his new record. He was struggling, you could tell, but there was no denying his other-worldly talent. 💔

the original post is so optimistic -- a shame fo'sho, babe--
Yeah, terrific! :) Bri
When he gets raspy he sounds like his Pops
((( ♥ )))
what guitar is that?
Its interesting that in a lot of his 2011 live videos he mentions being off the wagon "Last year," and since he's visibly pail and perspiring while wearing sunglasses in studio here... I dont think its out of line to assume he might be slippin' and slidin' in this video.
He doesn’t seem too pale to me...
He looks fine to me. My god if we thought every musician was high bc they wear sunglasses under bright lights the best of them would be under scrutiny. What difference does it make anyway? Sweating? What, have u got a magnifying glass iut to watch this? He looks fine, sounds great
Something is oddly Sam Cooke about this song.
