Charon's aspect is ridiculously strong and is my favorite aspect of Zorephet because that Cast is brutally strong..

When you have the double special hammer, you can actually set it off and set a second cast down before the second blast goes off to basically double the damage, since you can cast again as soon as the last one disappears. Got MASSIVE damage with Poseidon cast even without origination

fun fact, with giga cleaver, since it fires twice, you actually can deploy a second cast before the second special detonates, doubling the cast damage

Poseidon's cast also has the issue of not being affected by the furies and replacing the base damage; so for geyser ring you need it to surpass 225 on the boon side of things for it to do any better than just a status effect cast at purely damage (250 is the base damage of a cast with moon, or 325 with moon+furies). If we want instant damage then anvil ring is way better since it adds to the base damage of the cast instead of replacing it, and also adds an on spawn damage tick too. Speedrunning wise though issue is you have to get gale force going like a couple chambers after getting anvil ring to make up for not having origination which is too much rng, so since gale force isn't guaranteed just going status ring and status special is what works

Why does buying health from charon's well increase the chance to see Chaos? Is it the 'what's behind the 3 doors' math thing? It seems counter intuitive doesnt it?
from hades 2 speedrunning discord message: "buying the healing option should slightly increase your ixion chances. when you reroll, one of the remaining options is randomly chosen to be excluded from eligible options for the next screen. if the healing item is still left, there's a chance that the healing item will be excluded from the next screen, but if you buy it, the excluded item will always be a non-healing item and therefore reduce the number of options for the slots that can have ix
it's not a massive difference because 2/3 of the time, a non-healing item will be excluded anyway and it's just excluding 1 of 14 options, but it does technically do something"

@@nikuteh4058the implications of this are super interesting, cause it means that buying items have an extra incentive to not see them or similar ones for a bit. I’m a stay the spire player and just love when weird tech like this is in games. It also buffs medium quality options because it means you have a greater chance to see better stuff and you get a decent benefit. Weirdly enough as long as all the options actively benefit the player and are priced reasonably they’ll all become more viable. This is especially true if there are other pools that you can’t see a similar type of or that’s something that they add. A pool of mostly pretty average items will make them all a lot better by providing a decent buff plus a nice buff on seeing good stuff soon.
one and only one of the well items is always a healing item, and rerolls only guarantee that one item will be different. so by getting rid of the healing item slot you are guaranteeing that (at least?) one of the non-healing slots will be rerolled

I think he was sleeping on the on-spawn damage from engagement ring. critting for 300 from white antler, it seems like it would be really good for dealing with shitty chambers where a bunch of small enemies spawn (like the one he got right after swapping to arctic ring)

Maybe it's been explained somewhere sometime, but how do you get your Max health to cap out at 30 for White Antler? Tried everything with my Arcana Card setup last night and no dice.
from his previous video, i saw that he was using a save where The Centaur wasn't bought at all (the 0 grasp arcana card in the middle that gives max health and max magic per 5 locations) [i think they should make it so that 0 grasps cards can still be turned off even you fulfill their awakening condition]
base health is 30, with The Titan arcana card also off, and without bringing the frog (gives max health), so cap at 30 as long as you dont grab any hp increase during the run

Once I was using charons aspect and I got both double special hammer and apollo legendary. I tought there will be 4 special but only 2 special procs. Is this a bug. Should I report it?
If you get nemesis in the fields then just go unlock the other rewards while she kills stuff does the timer stay paused for those too?

I don't think I've ever seen Haelian so mad from a single run before! I get it though, Aspect of Charon is so much fun but sometimes you need the just right boons.

It's kind of a shame that none of the cast boons really synergize with it. I heard Poseidon is broken, Apollo delays recasting and nothing else works specifically on an omega that has been triggered.
8:00 idk i loved the Casts in 1, but HATED the calls, they just never felted relevant and was just boon fillers for privledged status.
But i almost guarantee that we we get an aspect set that changes casts to be be Hades 1-ish
I loved casts only when I was playing beowulf or hera. Besides that, they didn't seem super fun to me. In hades 2, the cast is pretty much your most important tool. It helps proc origination, gives extra damage from the furies card and just helps you stall the far more aggressive enemies in this game. I do wish there were more cast focused duo boons Besides glorious disaster and torrential downpour. Hopefully we get more in the future
i always felt the skulls was supposed to imitate the casts in hades 1

I disagree. I think the cast of Hades 1 is kinda meaningless unless you are making a cast based build. Cast in Hades 1 feels like just another ranged weapon like bow.

That’s the one you get from Toula, the cat familiar. It’s not the best since it only restores 10 hp, but she’s nice to have along for auto fishing.
@@MattR8605 oh my goodness, I used toula for so long in the beggining because... cat but switched to frog to deal with the transformation curse. How could I forget my friend!

It's an arcana card that gives you + 50 percent damage against foes with at least two curses( status effects like freeze and hitch...)
Arcana card that increases damage from all sources by 30% of the affected foes have 2 or more status effects on them.

Hades room stops time doesn't it? So any reason why you didn't take it?
It increases your Location counter which will make subsequent Locations contain more enemies potentially.

The timer is stopped in the hades room... if this is an IGT speedrun why not take that door? The extra 20% damage you could get from having lost 2 DDs would more than make up for the 1 second of clicking that door.
It's something along the lines of "the more rooms you take in tartarus, the greater the enemy count will be in the following rooms" I believe the hades room counts for this. Dad being a time loss breaks my heart 🤧

Lets be honest about this, Hades I is better but it feels very good to have something fresh for once, cast were a lot better and weapons as much as only 3 were fun.

Comparing an unfinished game to a game that was in early access for 2 years is wild. Patience, my boy
the bad things about this game are here to stay for the whole entire game. They're not changing the cast to something better. All boons need to change completely, so many useless boons and things that should be already included while playing the game. Each Different weapon aspect is more similar to a Hammer than a "Real different Aspect" and so much more. There are things that they can fix but I doubt they'll ever change these things.
@ClippedStreams101 well then you clearly don't know supergiant's track record. If you look at hades 1 from its early access days, it is nothing like the monumental game it is now. But hey if you're just here to hate and be impatient then who am I to stop you 🙄
