    I like the Volvo better. its an eye candy

      It is. I noticed more people staring at me when I was in the Volvo than the Merc.

      Undoubtedly, true. The design of all their cars is so unrivaled as its so completely well thought out and carefully choosen with the
      entire car in mind.
      In general I think it takes so much from a designer with all the compromises in mind that everything functional or structural
      may ruin alot of ideas, but still succed to keep all things behind a chassi included safety, physic and functionality is staggering, to make
      a brands complete lineup so total all around it may be one of the most complete designs ever ♥

      @@AngryPostmanStockholm ya I agree. The only thing I don’t like about Volvo is general is the interior - don’t get me wrong, it’s brilliant, but the fact that all the cars in their line up (except for the xc40) has the exact same design in frustrating. I get that it cut costs but a bit of change won’t kill them

    I've been looking at the Merc wagon for quite some time and thought I'd be in one eventually. Then I started looking at the Volvo V90. Waaay better value for the money. Yes the Merc is quicker and slightly nicer, but you pay dearly for it. Similarly equipped the Volvo is $20k cheaper. Sadly the Merc isn't $20k better. I take delivery of a V90 CC this month.

    • @MGReviewsBlog

      Exactly my thoughts. E450 drives better but for the starting price of it, you can get a fully loaded V90 CC.
      Thanks for watching!

      And volvo dealears provide big discounts for their cars. For me v90cc 2022 was 18k cheaper than on papers.

      Not good clean taste either.
      The fact MB, bmw and the rest trying so hard to some kind of design, but ends up like any unproporsional asian bobble and / or vulgar grillface.
      Just look at these cars (and so many other models)
      They just cant match the deep, complete and carefully thought out design and proportions. At best they can make a decnt front or rear but still far away and the
      rest of the cars more or less.. excuse the choosen word: retarded.

      More expensive justified by better driving and handling. Mercedes wins. The value for better traction, inline6 etc is worth it. The Volvo is a typical derived front wheel cheeper car and in a different class.

    Toller Beitrag!

      Thanks! I felt the same way when i picked up both cars. I thought that the Mercedes would be easily better but at over $20,000 CAD more expensive than the Volvo, I don't think it's that much better. Hence why I picked the V90 CC as my choice. Hopefully you get your car soon and congratulations on your purchase!

    Great review. I chose the 2022 v90 cc B6. I am thrilled with my choice so far. I simply don’t understand why they don’t sell more of these in the USA unless you need a 3rd row.
    Do yourself a favor and give the wagon a look. Time will tell how the Volvo holds up. I love how easy and planted it feels to drive compared to an SUV. The low load height in the rear is so much easier for my dogs as is loading a carrier, biked etc on top. It’s a perfect all around vehicle in my opinion.

    • @MGReviewsBlog
      @MGReviewsBlog  2 роки тому +4

      Thanks! Yea, I'm in the same boat. I think more people should look at wagons rather than crossover SUVs. They're not the same as the ones from the 70's and 80's.

    • @Colin623

      Volvo stopped the rear facing rear seat a long time ago because of safety concerns, my Volvo 740 GLE had a rear facing seat, which came in very handy back in the early 90s, but that was before multi- seat cars came along, but I wouldn't entertain a rear facing seat these days, just think about what would happen to a child's legs in a rear shunt, their feet are literally less than 30 cm from the end of the car, can you imagine a truck back ending you ! I'm surprised Mercedes still offer such a dangerous option in this day and age !

    Thanks for the review. I have the 2022 E450 All-Terrain, and love the power and the overall classic E-class rear-wheel-drive driving dynamics of the car, even with the 4-Matic system in place. I did drive the Audi All-road for comparison, and decided on the Merc. With a bit more ground clearance (say 8" or so), the "All Terrain" would have been perfect.

  • @Tomm9y
    @Tomm9y 2 роки тому +9

    It's a pity the V90 doesn't have the rear facing child seats in the boot. I had them in XC70s, great for family outings. Also, as the V90 is not tall, it carries a roof box well.

    If you need to tow a trailer the Volvo is more practical. It is the only station wagon that you can configure with a towbar hitch in Canada. For the Mercedes and Audi you have to get an aftermarket package from a third party, even though it is available in Europe.

    • @zdenekkrupka7479
      @zdenekkrupka7479 2 роки тому +1

      What? Here in Europe you can order almost every car with the towbar hitch from the factory. It is a standard. The reason why Volvo can offer this option could be that they are availible to install it at local services as original part. I have an experience with that. My v90cc was upgraded by towbar hitch in a local dealer without any difference from a factory build.

    Excellent review. Would have liked to see the Audi A6 Allroad in this review. Can anyone speak to the resale value of the All Terrain vs Allroad vs. V90? “Similarly equipped” might be a bit of a stretch in comparing the two as it relates to raw performance numbers. Who could argue with the practical value of the V90 but the All Terrain is simply as good as it gets if a luxury station wagon is in one’s radar. The same could be said for the A6 Allroad. There is also the V60 and and the A4 Allroad which Mercedes has seems have lost competitive interest in for that price point market of sports wagon shoppers. Wish there were more options for sports wagons in the US.

    • @MGReviewsBlog
      @MGReviewsBlog  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the comment! Yea I would love to get my hands on the Allroad (or any Audi for that matter) but unfortunately Audi doesn't have a press fleet here in Vancouver. It would be nice to have more options for wagons here in N/A but unfortunately people just don't buy them in the same way as they do crossovers. Maybe they just think they're still the same as what their parents had back in the 70's and 80's??

    We are awaiting our 2023 Audi A6 Allroad within the next month or so.
    The styling of the MB is what turned us away from it. It just looks like it’s melting in the sun.
    We feel, the styling of the Audi A6 Allroad was best. Second would go to Volvo. Third going to MB.

      Is it for the B6 engine and on the Cross Country trim? I never saw it do it while I had the car on demo.
      I do have the 2022 S60 B5 on demo right now and yes, I am noticing that it does that while it's in Eco mode. But I never saw this function on the V90 CC B6 and I didn't see any Eco or Dyamic drive modes like the B5.
