I just ordered one of these, pebble grey with slate interior. Should have it by Feb 1st. No price gouging either. If you want a large wagon in North America, this is the best choice. Here in Canada the Merc e450 similarly equipped is $100k. Volvo was $25K less. Less power but all the luxury. I wanted the Merc but after much looking the Volvo provides far better value. Long live the long roof.
Would you buy the Volvo V90 Cross Country over the competition and over SUVs? Also, If you enjoyed my review consider hitting that subscribe button! I drop new car reviews every week!
I’m a huge fan of station wagons and have been for years. I recently bought a Volvo V90XC about a month ago, and this car is awesome. So glad I bought it.
Great review. I keep coming back to this video, since I’m about 90% sold on ordering one of these. My wife’s XC90 is great, but I prefer the wagon look and somewhat lower ride height of the CC. I’m not worried about the 112mph limit. I’ve had the XC90 at about 100 on the autobahn, and it’s still incredibly smooth and planted. 113 mph seems excessive. 🙂
I have owned several XC70's over the last 15 years. Brilliant cars, nicer to drive than the full SUV models, good driving across the full range of roads, motorways to winding rural roads and also unpaved tracks with AWD.
I have had my 1996 Volvo 960 estate for 25 years now, and it is nearing retirement. It has served out family so well over the years. The straight 3 litre six is strong but a bit thirsty. Now I'm looking V90 CC or Mercedes E-class All Terrain. A close call. Both have frugal diesels as options.
I love wagons and kills me that there are basically none for sale in the US (besides Subaru)... unless you want to spend well over 50k. So unfortunately I am priced out of that market. I loved the low v60 and v90, but would 100% the cross country over an SUV.
Good review mate . Here in UK gone for v60 phev , coming in March after sillicone related delays . You have tempted me to upgrade to the Bowers from the Harmon ! Seriously tempted me you bad man !
Went to a Volvo dealer str8 to test drive and order the xc60. I ended up ordering a V90 t6 recharge. Not the CC version, the simple one. Driving an SUV was simply not my cup of tea. So we will continue our tradition with the 3rd wagon in the family.
Awesome car. We were looking for a second hand XC60 but in the end we got the V90 CC T5. Same year bigger car and it was cheaper then the XC60 here in the Netherlands.
I have a 2017 v90cc that I really like. Thought about trading up to 2022 but they don't seem to offer all the features I currently enjoy ( many you pointed out are no longer available) so am not sure it's worth it. (I do use dynamic mode, especially on two-lane back roads) If they had a true hybrid v90cc that got 40+/- on electric would be all over it. Hoping 2023 brings a hybrid version or the rumored Embla (sp) comes about.
Embla is supposed to be an SUV. It's hard to say what Volvo's new products will look like. They don't reveal much. I hope Volvo always offer the wagon style and I'm resigned to it having to be raised.
I love SUV and Trucks! My wife is only 4'6" and I'm 5'4" with physical challenges. With my daughter taking my RAV4 for college, I'm looking at the V60 and V90 CC. One cause I think they're awesome, #2 my second daughter thinks they are ugly. (She won't take it to college when she gets there).
I had a 2007 Saab 9-3 sportscombi wagon years ago and it was very cool looking. This Volvo looks like if a wagon and a suv had a kid but it is nice. I really like their s60 so I would probably skip this cause I would feel like a soccer mom with this and I have no kids nor carry too many things (like Costco stuff). It would be too much car for me but it’s nice
What happened here was that our love for SUVs forced Volvo to get rid of the V90 which was a low riding one and keep the V90 cross country - the higher riding one so we can be satisfied in our desire of SUVs
I think wagons are cool but I’m going to play devil’s advocate here and ask why these would appeal to anyone unless they just prefer the look. I just don’t see why anyone would spend this much money on a 4 cylinder wagon. I do think it’s a handsome car with great features. But for $55-68k? Just to stand out from SUVs? Remember wagons were considered completely uncool 25 years ago. I want to say it’s just nostalgia driving some people to these cars. But they offer very little in advantages over a SUV. For the same price as this car you could get a nice BMW X5 which is higher-riding and has a 6-cylinder not to mention more brand cachet. This car doesn’t make much sense tbh when looking at the market as a whole.
I can understand that but keep in mind this is a luxury wagon it's not just a regular station wagon. It has all the luxury and tech and comfort that you get in the Volvo S 90
@@omardrives No disagreement here. But ask yourself if it makes sense to lay down that kinda cash when similarly luxurious, more powerful SUVs are available. Where is the value here? I think it lies solely in the quirky novelty of driving a luxury wagon which few people have.
Well I have a 2018 V90 CC with every option. I got rid of an SUV for the Volvo as it just drives better. Cars will always drive nicer than any SUV. As for the roads in general, most cars are still sedans. So I ask, why settle for an awkward sedan when you can have a much more useful station wagon? The T6 engine is as powerful as most V6’s on the road and has proven to be reliable. SUV’s are generally more cumbersome and over rated in my opinion. I’ve had Land Rovers, Nissan SUV’s as well as Dodge Rams over the years and my current Volvo is in my opinion, without any doubt the best car I’ve owned. Go drive one before casting unfounded opinion. You might be pleasantly amazed…

Not with that engine and price
YES!! :)
Yes! It still does better gas mileage than he average SUV

Nice review Omar!
Appreciate that a lot man! Love your channel 🙌

Very impressive review!
Really appreciate that a lot! Thank you
Love my V90CC D4 Polestar, never had a better car for our needs 😎
I would take this over an SUV! Love this review. 👍

Wow actually you’re right about that one I didn’t even think of that. Let’s save the wagons
Love these wagons!

Hahaha it's the best decision you'll make
😂
Yes my next car will be a wagon. V90 CC is top of my list
Good review. I love wagons! Did you say speed is capped at 112mph?
Thank you! And ya top speed is 112
Officially yes, but as always when it is about software there is a short way...ua-cam.com/video/iJxF-NMm4RQ/v-deo.html

Could you please tell me what the color is of this particular model ?
Massive wagon fan. Sold my Mercedes E300 (wanted a refresh) and ordered the Volvo V60 T8 hybrid. Long live long roofs! 😁

Awesome car.I have an XC70 and am on to the v90 cross country next
Good choice! Enjoy it!
The Bower & Wilkins audio system for my XC90 came out at 5450€ and is worth every cents if you ask me
Worth every penny worth every dollar worth every thousand dollars

Im getting this car when i change mine in 😁
Do it 🙌
i had owned one and never saw it break down on the road. but the indian version doesn't have all the specifications included :(
WAGON ! either this or Audi RS6 Avant
it has real road presence when driving in winter sweden

Omar if I may..if you could only afford a pre-owned, what year v90 cross country would you buy?
I would go for a T6. Probably look at 2018.
@@omardrives Thank you for your advice
I really hope Volvo adds the new T8 powertrain as an option to the v90 Cross Country in the next couple years.
That would be amazing! But i don't think it'll happen because they are gunning towards going electric

I think that volvo station wagons are cool
I HAVE XC60T8 2021
CONSIDER TO BUY NEXT YEAR.
THANKS
wagon gang 😎
All the way 🙌 let’s get rid of SUVs
Awesome car. Resell value sux.
I drive one SUV and a Subaru wagon (my first and I love). Considering selling my Grand Cherokee diesel 2018 to replace with this Volvo.
Electric Station Wagons!! ⚡⚡
Never liked SUV's and always been a fan of Station Wagons, I've had 2 volvo station wagons and a regular sedan. I miss the V70R.
Only issue for me in every Volvo is empty steering wheel.
My next car is a v90 polestar recharge
Stationwagons all the way.
I absolutely hate glossy black in a car. Especially buttons.
I love wagons. #stationwagon

When you want to spend SUV money on wagon
Very hard decision for me
dont want google in my car.
Lol why not?
Well it's for your assistance.
The previous model years don't have Google in the car
