I have the Ring 1 (2020) battery powered. After three months i can say when the device works-- it works great. However, i have found that the settings that seem to work don't work after awhile and it requires another call to customer service to go thru all the various settings to get it working again. The issues are: no alerts, no chime, extreme delay, too many motion alerts. And keep reoccurring even after changing the settings.Customer service is top notch and responsive but Im really tiring of the frequent calls. The Ring 1 is not a set up, install and forget it. It takes many repeated adjustments to keep it working.
I have 4 cameras so I've been on the Plus Protection Plan for years now. When I found out I could add my alarm system for free, I was gobsmacked! We went from $600 a year on monitoring, to zero. Wow. I just added some of the smart lighting, too. Can't wait to the solar options to be available in Canada. I love Ring. I have one camera that drains too quickly and hoping to replace it when I can afford to. That's my only complaint. The others work great and everything is super easy to install and get going.

My ring doorbell failed to video an incident at my home. While watching the playback it seems as though it skipped 35 minutes. That’s exactly when this incident happened. Is there any way we can recover that?
Worked good for about a year, after a year started having loads of problems with it detecting motion, but not actually recording the video, poor wifi connection even though my router is only about 15 feet from the device, etc.
We had our first package theft in four years and basically three out of three ring devices failed to detect motion. The reason I know is because I have a backup system from another brand. I called Ring Support telling them basically the system failed. She checked everything, Wi-Fi speed, zones, etc after putting me on hold, probably talking to a supervisor on how to respond, she said that it was because of cool down and frequency settings. The last motion was 8 minutes before and she knew it. I pay $30 for the Ring Plus and am 100% disappointed in their response. If you see this review on other videos, then it’s because I’m THAT DISAPPOINTED after spending nearly $1k in product and fees. Unfortunately, I have no idea which system is best at person detection, but I know it’s not Ring.

I called in, they blamed it on cooling down and frequency and that’s the solution they found. Doesn’t really answer why my front video doorbell also didn’t work. And I’m going through Twitter and have answered so many question, all support wants to do is see what mistake “I” may have made setting it up. I have over 11 cameras on my property and none are perfect, but if I cannot install and set it up correctly then most of your customers will not be able to set them up. So, maybe it’s actually the product and not me that’s the problem.

My Ring app on my iPhone 12 logs itself out so I don't get notifications. Why would it log itself out? This is something Ring should look into and rectify.
The biggest drawback for all Ring video doorbells is the limitation on the vertical field of view. Ring doorbells do not allow the viewer to see packages delivered and placed on the front porch.

I asked my sister for ring 3 doorbell camera for Christmas, I got it and fitted it a few days ago and i am happy with the product 😀 I would give it 9/10 What stops the ring 3 getting 10/10 is the recording subscription £2.50 a month which is £30 a year or £24 in 1 payment saving £6, Its not a deal breaker it would of been nice to get at least 1 day FREE recording? Overall a great security device that works fantastic overall.
The subscription plan is for video storage as opposed to just being able to record, so you can access all your footage and download them if needed. And are you referring to 1 free day of video storage to start with? Cause Ring gives you 30 days free when you first sign up. Or do you mean 1 free day a month? There are video doorbells that offer local storage so you don't have to pay a monthly fee, like Eufy for example. Although I heard their video doorbell isn't as great as Ring's.

I have two Ring doorbells. The phone I had the ring app on died. I tried to install the app, which had been upgraded to a new version, on my other phone but got a message it is not compatible. I called ring and after a long back and forth I was told to buy a new phone! WTF??? My doorbells have lost connection with a cable modem upgrade and I have no way to connect them without buying another phone. This really sucks. Ring needs a app for windows or have old version of their software available.
Like the spotlight cam why do you guys make a solar panel for the Ring Doorbell? My batteries run down too quick. The solar panel you sell for the doorbells want get enough sun where I live, but if you guys had it fixed like the solar panel that runs the spotlight cam with a longer cord so you could place it on your roof to get the sunlight it needs to charge the battery. This would be a hot seller.

Great question! Ring is mounted to a mounting bracket and secured with security screws so that it is not easily removable. If someone does attempt to damage your Ring Doorbell, the motion-activated camera will capture a video of them doing so, and you'll be able to use that as video evidence for a police report. And lastly, someone asked a question which wasn't answered, but raised a concern for me. He said that the 3 plus doesn't come with a chime. How then will it notify me if there isn't a sound? I ordered a ring spotlight cam and a suspicious man is trying to steal my camera and the floodlight camera helped my camera because the camera is next to the spotlight cam and the floodlight gives me a motion alert so I looked at the camera and I saw that person and I said go away but Is not listening i try to ring the siren and I finally go away 😊
I had ring doorbell since 10/1/20 it is now 10/19/20 but its already 60% battery remaining. It is not true that the battery is good for 6 to 12months. I have ring 2nd generation. I placed all my settings on minimum but its just draining too fast. What are your advise?

Ring Peephole Cams use passive infrared lights to detect motion, and placing your Ring inside the home facing towards a window is not recommended as the IR lights can be reflected by the windowpane. I have my spotlight camera set up, but it seemed to always cut off when the action still continuing. Is there a way to record the entire motion? And it’s quite hard to choose the motion sensitivity when it’s pointing towards a drive way and parking spot

I believe you are stating that your video recording is choppy and it freezes, correct? It’s a technical problem that Ring has no answer for except to blame the materials that were used to construct your home. I have a Ring 2 doorbell and 2 Ring spotlight cams plus a Ring chime pro to act as a “range extender.” My cameras record about a second and then freeze. I can hear the audio but by the time the camera unfreezes the event has not been recorded. I’ve even bought a AMPLIFI Alien router with additional Alien mesh point to increase the range of WiFi signal to cameras and it does not help either. The Alien router is a tri-band router so it does connect to Ring using 2.4 signal. My suggestion is to research other products from different companies. There are much better options out there. FYI Blink cameras were bought out by Ring. Yes, I’m replacing all my Ring products. They were a real great camera in the beginning but have really gone downhill since.
Wait a sec...second gen doesn't have a Micro USB port. It has a removable rechargeable battery. It's a Second Gen shown in the front, but the back of the first doorbell is the original.

My peephole doorbell stop working. I actually loved it. I wanted to buy another but it's been discontinued. It was perfect for my apartment.

Video need to be a vertical aspect ratio so you can see the whole person. That's really my only complaint about the doorbells.

Could you please explain the monthly subscription fees to me? In addition to buying the doorbell, am I required to subscribe to your company for its use? And lastly, someone asked a question which wasn't answered, but raised a concern for me. He said that the 3 plus doesn't come with a chime. How then will it notify me if there isn't a sound? I'm very confused. I've spoken to a local security company but they are suggesting complicated systems which I'm not ready for. My online research led me to this video.

They just need help getting help getting up out of the bed and who ever is around needs to be alerted if they are outside since spring is here and summer is coming up. -Swipe the recent events to the right
-Tap the circle to select the event or events you wish to delete.

I had ring doorbell since 10/1/20 it is now 10/19/20 but its already 60% battery remaining. It is not true that the battery is good for 6 to 12months. I have ring 2nd generation. I placed all my settings on minimum but its just draining too fast. What are your advise?

I have heard and read that the Ring peephole device will not work if you have a storm door installed. Has Ring done anything to fix this?
Ring Peephole Cams use passive infrared lights to detect motion, and placing your Ring inside the home facing towards a window is not recommended as the IR lights can be reflected by the windowpane. I believe you are stating that your video recording is choppy and it freezes, correct? It’s a technical problem that Ring has no answer for except to blame the materials that were used to construct your home. I have a Ring 2 doorbell and 2 Ring spotlight cams plus a Ring chime pro to act as a “range extender.” My cameras record about a second and then freeze. I can hear the audio but by the time the camera unfreezes the event has not been recorded. I’ve even bought a AMPLIFI Alien router with additional Alien mesh point to increase the range of WiFi signal to cameras and it does not help either. The Alien router is a tri-band router so it does connect to Ring using 2.4 signal. My suggestion is to research other products from different companies. There are much better options out there. FYI Blink cameras were bought out by Ring.

Wait a sec...second gen doesn't have a Micro USB port. It has a removable rechargeable battery. It's a Second Gen shown in the front, but the back of the first doorbell is the original.
