Brilliant stove......tested ours for the first time last night. We just gathered dead twigs as we walked to where we set up the stove and lit it with the aid of some very dry grass. We added small twigs to get a decent flame and then just added some larger twigs so it would burn for long enough to cook our meal.We cooked two large tins of soup and a large tin of potatoes in a saucepan and it heated up to the point where it was gently simmering in about five minutes.Very practical, efficient stove that packs down well and cooks your food for free. Its a great quality item that will give you a lifetimes service.....what more do you need, one of the worlds great designs.

I used these during a period in my life when i didnt have a place to live. These little stoves provided warmth and helped me make find my camping mates bunghole. Great vid!

Combining one of these with a kelly kettle is where it's at. One thing I do like is the lines in the flames created by the holes - very pretty.

The wood pellets we get here are just wood nothing added or taken away and certainly not made of cats or any other fury creatures :-) and yes spot on they are lit from the top . I have the ohuhu version of this and I have to say they work amazingly well . around 8000 btus per charge on pellets boils half liter of water in a few minutes . great video nicely done. I did a video recently almost the same and it ran for 1 hour 20 mins in total . amazing little stoves.

Thank God for someone who knows how to use these right. So many people fill it three to four inches above the top of the stove. Makes me want to smash my head into a wall.

Priced it out here and using wood pellets at 7 dollars for a 40 pound bag. About 20 cents will get you a solid 40 minute burn

I love the woodgas stove as you can get fuel for free. A large mature hawthorn hedge is about the best source of dead branches. Pellets are very useful, but maybe ought to be used as a top scattering over other fuel. If I find a dead open fire I rake through it for lumps of charcoal to try and get a cleaner burn.
I haven't used pine wood, but i'll take a little resin for lighting purposes.
What is the capacity of that kettle? I use a Trangia #27 kettle, which is500ml.
I have two of those MSR 'Alpine' pans: 450 and 1100ml. They are made by Seagull in Korea. They nest inside each other.

I totally agree with not beeing ok with aluminium. It leaves aluminium in your food and it will enter your body. I don't know how you do pellets but I think in Sweden they are just har pressure and heat molded.

This would be great idea for gathering, using it as a Fire Pit since it burn clean. You can get Regular Wood Pellets, it will be cheaper. Cat Litter Pellets or Animal Bedding are expensive :((((

In these parts wood pellets are made of wood so I'm guessing your "cat" pellets are made of cats. No problem for me as I generally dislike cats. However, I hope not to hear of anyone using "dog" pellets. I'm very fond of dogs I am. 😉
