- We tried to Plow Under lands on stream a little while ago, but didn't make much progress thanks to running into infinite Liliana, the Last Hope bugs. Let's give the deck another shot!

Congratz on your engagement, Opponent.
I heard mrs. Opponent is wifey material.
@@AleBakMusic #LESBO
Seems like a winning way of losing match =)
Yeah, opponent got engaged...
*Engaged to these Wurmcoil beats*
It was the day opponent had to wash her hair.
I submit this statement to the comment section:
Trinisphere is Seth’s new blood moon
Scarecrone in an Against the Odds modern Scarecrow deck? I'd watch the heck out of thag
You're not wrong :)
See that's why I love ponza. You get both!
It's a fun turn 1 play in commander
Aaaaaagainst the Odds Time! This week, playing some, mono white engagements, innnnnnnn modern!
Yes we need engagement tribal
@@Small_Panda Oblivion Ring, Sol Ring, etc
Imagine being so afraid of Wurmcoil Engine that you prefer getting marriaged instead.
Wow, card is too OP.
They got engaged with the perfect ring

There's nothing I love to see Seth play more (perhaps besides Blood Moon) than land destruction in modern....just feels so good :)
I always have fun when I blow up lands and Trinisphere people. My opponents on the other hand...
i remember this deck, i actually bought the budget version whenever that was put on the channel a few years ago.
Got any results?
@@WilliamLimao Budget version always had a winning record, this one def seems better but you should win more than u lose with the budget deck barring any horrible luck
I remember buying it immediately, then Trinisphere spiking to 60 (80?)
Yeah! This is basically the non-budget version (with some big upgrades like Karn which weren't around when we originally played it).
Engaged and bested by saffronolive in the same day? Opponent is off to a good week.
DUUUUUDE! I love plow Under! I remeber trying to play this monogreen wierd card in extended 15 years ago
this entire deck is a result of seth's post trauma from all the tron matchups he ever had
Time to get our revenge on Tron!
Mwonvuli Acid-Moss: *exists*
Seth: "Mmm... Mo... I concede."
I think beast within on that forest w/ sprawl on it (like 3 turns before he conceded) would have kept the opponent down between 2 and 4 mana for the rest of the game. He would have come back, I'm almost certain.
@@jrjamesson Yeah, I was making a joke of Seth's inability to pronounce the name, not a specific play. But okay, sure.
Kroxa “When this creature attacks your opponent gains 1 life and gets a 4/4 beast”
Gains 4 life. He doesn't bolt you if you discard a nonland card
So hyped you put out this video!!!
Seth, on skipping your turn: my personal MTGO crusade is to get people to stop using f6 (which actually defaults to 6 now, but whatever). INSTEAD:
1) press 8 and 7 at the beginning of each game - this auto-passes when you have no possible action whatsoever (i.e. tapped out, for the most part) and auto-stacks identical triggers, respectively. 8 saves a TON of time, and never has the same screw-you-over issue that 6 has. 8's only real downside is for cards like Force of Will/Negation (8 was called "disable force-of-will bluffing" for that reason; you can still bluff other spells just fine), but for most decks/circumstances it's just pure upside. 7 is a bit more fringe in its benefits, but is easy enough to hit at the same time.
2) assign "auto-yield to this" to a hotkey. "auto-yes to this" is also pretty useful. (if you want to do both, auto-yes first, then auto-yield). you can also directly assign "yes" and "no" to hotkeys so you don't have to maneuver to click the prompt.
This greatly reduces the benefits of 6 by shifting them to functions far less likely to screw you over (AND it does so while saving you MORE clocktime).
I can see that you already use a hotkey for "ok", which is also very good for saving time, instead of dragging the mouse over.
For basically-100%-of-cases, you could also go ahead and remove the stops from your Beginning of Combat Step and your End Step, to save a couple presses. Those are steps that are only ever needed in rare cases, and you can just turn your end step stop on in response to an opponent doing something in your end step. (In general, they're less useful than even a stop on your on draw step (which I'm not recommending and is very much extremely-tiny-edges, but does actually has some benefits, due to mana pools emptying, precombat-main triggers, etc).)
Removing a couple unnecessary stops also reduces the number of times you have to hit "ok", which makes not-using-6 even better.
*Sometimes* 6 is okay to use (and I do still have it bound to something convenient and use it when the coast is clear), but it should NOT be the default reaction. Getting out of that habit will improve your game, and getting INTO the habit of 8 and auto-yield will improve your quality of life.
49:08 wouldn't be a SaffronOlive video without at least one game lost by keeping a one-lander
Loved the video, and that treasure chest holy molee the value!!!
That was a solid chest :)
“Obstinant baloth may be the best beast in magic”
Questing beast- “do I mean nothing to you?”
ah yes, my favourite modern finisher, Joaquin ballista xd
(i swear i heard that)
So, it's kind of a Joker?
Seth! Super spicy deck man. Loved it. So salt inducing and quick. Good stuff.
In other news, spread the word: New Gruul tag line:
"Tap lands... and catch these hands!"
Almost thought Seth was gonn say the "Damn" for a moment lol
Not in this good Christian Jank Fest
"why is our opponent playing another land..."
Everyone: Mono red burn Seth: Today, we’re playing a deck that I want to play
The world knows no joy greater than Seth preventing his opponent from playing Magic.
Speaking of old decks coming back, I’d love to see a fresh take on gw emeria! That thing has been my baby since I first watched those videos and I think its got plenty of new toys to play with
Plow Under a card that I loved in my Astral Slide deck. Also used Eternal Witness to keep the lock solid. God I love that deck!
Oh man I love this deck. Wanted to build it for while
That stream was really fun though! Even though MOTO was doing MOTO things...
"We skipped our Turn 2 as a show of dominance" LOL
I enjoy when you play Mono green land destruction. It was touching to hear an opponent is getting into Two headed Giant & then you (mis)quote Beavis & Butthead. Thanks for the truly janky content. You earned those chests.
"Come to Beavis" absolutely killed me.
Holy crap! that second jund opp almost beat a veil of summer :O
Love this deck. I've almost built it in paper a couple of times.
I could watch lock decks and land destruction with your commentary every video :). #risingwaters for the win
I could play them every day and be happy :)
MTGGoldfish ummmm we pay you ? :)
MTGGoldfish we can make this happen Seth!
Hi seth, could you do some nonbudget version of GW interlude? That GW deck that blinks creatures, because it seemed really great :)
the non-budget version is bant soulherder
Ohh, now that Yorion is a thing it seems like a good time to revisit it!
For the uninitiated (aka Seth), Thunderblade Charge is a callback to Hammer of Bogardan.
"And when Trinisphere says you don't get to play Magic, it means it."
Seth said "come to Bevis" we all heard it
What can I say, I used to watch a lot of Bevis and Butthead.
@@MTGGoldfish then you'd know it was butthead who says "come to butthead" and not beavis
;)
“There’s an upside to playing expensive cards” should be the motto of modern
love it pls play an updated version ;)
At 47:44 op's line of eating the wurm was a tad risky due to being able to re grab it with a karn wish. If we had 2nd karn or land in hand and drew the other we had the mana to play karn and wurm again too.
Seth playing LD
All is right with the world :)
Waiting for the ultimate Seth's enjoyment deck: the trinismoon!
Seth, I love this deck, I made it about a year ago, had fun, but wasn't competitive enough for the local fnm.
love this deck! (might hate playing against it though hehe)
Liquimetal + Splinter, the new frontier of hatred 🤣
Saffron I love your videos but I haven't been playing for a long time.
It would be great if you can put the "arrow" on top of the new cards, that way I can stop the video and read what it does, like in 26:35 for example. Thanks and great content!
If Ponza is a red and green colored pasta dish, this this mono-green colored pasta dish must be called PESTO!
You ever punt so hard, you end up going third?
Painter’s Servant = Best scarecrow in mtg
2:50
Sorry Seth, I didn't quite catch that. Could you repeat it again? xD
i liked this one, trinisphere is the truth
Time to pull up the calculator on the odds of getting engaged.
Can someone explain the bug? Why, how, what cards, etc? Im comi9ng back to mtg after years and have no idea what the things are :)
The change at 5:35 when first you show the 1-of in the sideboard and then the 3-of in the main deck feels a bit strange, have you considered writing 3+1 or something similar for cards that are played both in the maindeck and in the sideboard (at least for toolbox decks)?
Yeah, the problem is that the numbers that show up under the cards are based on the main deck and sideboard, so if I put them together either the sideboard or maindeck version wouldn't have a number.
I knew from the title I'd love watching it and I did.
My kind of deck (LD or 8Rack).
I hope one day they print a 3 mana LD in green. Like pillage or stone rain in green.
I don't know what kind of version I want to build.. Gruul/mono red/mono green.. I love the 3 versions of this idea. Even boros is fun
They have some in vintage, but agreed that getting it in modern would be amazing
Jund opponent got super punished by casting Kolaghan's Command as a sorcery instead of in Draw Step
Scarecrone + Trash for Treasure => Mono-red Modern reanimator, bringing back cards like Sundering Titan or Wurmcoil Engine. Enjoy!
2nd opponent had to have gotten engaged they could have pushed your abor elf befor the discard. They were a love struck beast, and couldn't think!
Trinisphere makes it cost 3 so he couldn't.
Right. I missed that.
Could have pushed then next turn lilly?
@@JuanWonOne In any case he can only cast one spell a turn so Lily seems more important since Seth had plenty of land and no utopia sprawls. If he drew a K-com next turn Lily could potentially end the game from there.
@@yujiro424 I would have pushed the elf to bring seth to zero creatures then played lilly the next turn. That way there was zero pressure on board and if anything was played he could have -2 lilly to lessen the blow of whatever creature seth played. Hindsight is 2020 but in a real game that would have been my line in hopes to draw the k- command
@@JuanWonOne You're not wrong, however he tried a more aggressive approach hoping to top deck he couldn't know what Karn would tutor. That is what makes the game great there is no single line that always wins sometimes it's better to spin the wheel.
seth your beard lookin fye in this video
5:41 Seth says my favorite messed up card name Mouwnwuni acid moss
I bought the budget deck and actually won with it at fnm. Then tuned it to U/G ewit abuse with plow under, primal command or cryptic command locks. 2 kiora master of depth + then acid moss to plow under turn 3 then enteral witness it back the same turn.
I wonder how one or two copies of World Breaker would do in this deck. It's a big threat to ramp into with the Acid Moss that gets rid of lands or other problem artifacts/enchantments and has recursion.
Gotta love land destruction. After all, OP can't do degenerate broken stuff if they don't have any lands. Well... that's true in modern at least.
Plow under always impresses me in these games... Or it might just be my fondness of effects like Memory Lapse or the ascended Expel from Orazca.
Opponent's significant other's one condition for getting married was they had to battle seth first on Magic Online.
How did you cast wurmcoil at 28:05 with only 5 mana open? Am I missing something here?
Castle, nvm.
Seth ab the thing that happened on the live stream with mtgo the same thing happened to me too
Have you considered Torpor orb to block the sword trigger?
you got to timewalk yourself to show how much you don't even need turns to win
36:03 arcbound ravager is actually the best beast.
modern yess!!!
Hope the opponent has a great marriage
It’s nice to see that this deck is sooo sooo bad because if you lose the roll you chance decrese from lime 50% to 10%
Just hand that glitch happen with Goya’s vengeance and splice but unable to pay for it and canceled
50:50 that's not an eternal witness
The Thing I know About this Deck is that it would make me so absurdly salty to Play against, that I would just super Scoop from it.
When the background noise confirm that Seth resides in the hood and Saffron Olive is a street handle...
I think mono green land destruction is better with OG Garruk, then with Karn the great creator. Karn is more versatile but OG Garruk is makes the deck faster with him untapping multiple lands as a plus
Why don't you go for coating more often with karn?
Muuuuuluh acid moss
No liquid metal coating + Splinter?
Did the Jund op try to help you win? Lol.
Isn't getting engaged kinda like losing to Wurmcoil?
Nah, more like losing to ill-gotten inheritance
Isn't Mirror Entity the best scarecrow?
Do they mean that someone proposed to them like in that very moment?
Something small you do that means the world to some people. Thank you for never assuming gender.
Game 3 against Ponza, why not Beast Within the Utopia land? Would've slowed them down a bit. Probably wouldnt have made a difference, but still...
By killing the Arbor Elf with Ballista and leaving the Utopia land, the opponent started turn 3 with 3 mana and possibly a land drop.
Could've used Beast Within on the Utopia land on upkeep. Opponent would have a summoning sick 3/3 beast, 2 mana (land and Arbor Elf untap) and possibly land drop. Maybe better? Maybe worse? Would still have Ballista in hand though
Seth + LD = automatic watch
Painters servant is the best scarecrow
Not in Modern.
37:56 "internal witness" ;)
"Come to beavis" lol
Moo-oo(uwu)ni acid moss is a pet card of mine
Why not Joraga Treespeaker?
Wotc update Noble hierarch's creature type into Noble or Riot !
It's noble in nature not noble in rank.
It's type should be "the noblest"
Seth commenting on opponent keeping in Utopia Sprawl in against you is just as bad as keeping a 1 lander against them.
