In case you don't care too much for the deck techs, games start at 7:49. I however enjoyed the breakdown of the changes that were made between this deck and the original.
Going through that whole game worrying about Liliana 15 minutes in with Bramblecrush in hand is giving me stress. Especially when he blows 2 Primal Commands on top/shuffle and then witnesses one back rather than just blow her up. Does he think Bramblecrush is a 4-mana stone rain?
I’m really late in finding this, but just wanted to say that I am very fond of this deck. Green’s my favorite color, but strangely I’m more of a control/denial player (blue’s a close second) so I enjoy any deck exploring this side of it. Plow Under is my favorite green spell, and it was a joy to see quick scoops from your opponent once it makes an appearance.
Thanks for the video. I just ran this deck (or a very similar one) at my LGS. Now I only went 1-2, but my matches were great and I got a lot of ooos and ahhhs from people watching my games. The star was Plow Under! What a card! This is a great budget deck! Thanks so much!
6:14 "...which will eventually overwhelm our opponent with little flying deathtouch bees". Lol. Comments like this is what makes already great videos amazing. Keep it up!
Would be pretty sweet if you ramped into Primeval Titans so you can search out Ghost Quarters. Mono Green Ponza. But that wouldn't be budget friendly :(
I built a mono g devotion deck based on your budget deck awhile back and put in Plow under and Stampeding Serow. Plow under is one of my favorite cards to play. Oh it feels so good! From what I’ve noticed, the card draw in the devotion deck allows for you to not stall out after dumping your hand like it seems this deck can do and Stampeding Serow has more targets to bounce, elvish visionary, wistful selkie, eternal witness, Hornet Queen, thragtusk, and Craterhoof if need be.
Awwwwwe ... the moments when you are in control and your opponents suddenly draws exactly what they need and you draw only land after lands. I DON'T miss those days ... at least I am not the only one who has such bad luck so many times. I really enjoy your videos and I am thinking on restarting in mtgo. Keep up the good work.
The attack was weird enough that I felt like something would go wrong, but considering how bad that game was going, probably should have just tried it anyway.
Well...that was awesome. I've always thought that green could only be control if it used land destruction. And it turns out that there's potential to be had...
1:02:20 Seth's best impression of an aging southern blues musician who just had a long day and now hears that the late night act just cancelled so he has to fill in a double.
How would Gaea's revenge work as a finisher? Can't be countered, protected from most of removal(bar maelstrom pulse and beast within. Are there any other common modern removal that hits it?), is big, fast and ends games. Also, Avanger of Zendikar could gain from those lands and acid mosses, but you'd probably need more fetching and less sprawls. Lastly, if you want to be cute and/or play hipster, Weatherseed Treefolk could be the jawdropper you need.
Why didn't i notice that the first time... I just threw it out of an EDH list i had, so it seems that i fucked up along the way. Well, no harm done. Thanks for spotting that.
Bravo, Seth, that late game 1 against Death and Taxes was a textbook case of playing to your outs. Guess this is more proof that the Super League performance was not a fluke :>
I think for fighting black decks, Obstinate Baloth might be better in the SB vs black decks. Another life gainer, plus dumping one when opp plays Lilli is awesome.
I have an idea to help protect the deck from those games where you don't find a win con. You could swap out the mystics for birds of paradise and take out nykthos and a forest for two kessig wolf runs. That wouldn't put it too far outside of budget range.
Seth I think it's time you make a sick Legacy or Vintage land destruction deck. Turn 1 dark ritual > Rain of Tears/Sinkhole then Army Ants. Black Red land destro do itttt
Limited Resources is a strong card in the right build here because it's a lock piece by itself. Also Raze is probably better than Army Ants even though it's only a 1 turn deal.
I need to ask, why do I always see creeping corrosion over fracturing gust? For an extra mana you get instant speed artifact and enchantment removal that ALSO puts you pretty far on life.
Colgate Lampinen In any normal deck it's pretty bad to pay an extra mana but if you're looking to cast primal command on turn 4, it's probably not that hard to cast gust either.
I think this deck could use a Boseiju or two, either main or sideboard, to help resolve those Plow Unders and Primal Commands against counterspell-heavy decks
maybe add a Hurricane in the main or sideboard. You make enough mana that you can do a spite hurricane for a draw in games that you're losing. And you can just win with it too!
I think it was fine to side in 2 naturalize for 2 STE against Death&Taxes to get rid of that obnoxious Aether Vial and it works fine with golem tokens too
Hey, I have checked on so many places, even my LGS and I can't find a thrasios, so then I checked card kingdom and all they had was a foil, anyone know why thrasios is so hard to find
Land destruction is my favorite budget deck because a high dollar deck usually can run without lands. I know it sounds mean but it's not fun to lose to tarmogoyfs and cards you couldn't hope to afford.
Shouldn't you have boarded in the artifact hate versus Death and Taxes? I mean, last game would've been a massive blowout. Anyway, for such a budget that was awesome!
Sadness of needing fetch lands to make the deck perfect. Really wish wizards would just make them uncommon, they make magic a better game and everyone should get to play with them.
And thinning the deck of land Seth. If you have no lands you can't draw them :p I want a common or uncommon land with: "Tap, sac. Search your deck for a copy of a basic land you currently have in play and put it onto the battlefield." Could also have tap, add 1 to mana pool. but that may be too good.
I wish that Seth would do more with the Vernal Bloom, Early Harvest package that he used a while back. I've been testing it and have cast a Torment of Hailfire X=200+ on turn three.
It was an Instant Deck Tech called "Harvest Wave." Green Sun Zenith is banned, and the deck did not run Heartbeat of Spring, though it certainly could.
PalPlays I play modern just like you I’m aware of the banned list. I looked it up and it was indeed originally titled “Green Sun’s Zenith” and played heartbeats before Seth did a video on it. The only reason he even compiled that deck and played it was because people were more excited in a past episode as to what his opponent was doing. The deck is an old one and has had iterations at least as far back as 2014 considering there’s a whole primer on it posted to mtgsalvation. I always post my sources in case anyone is interested. Source: www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/deck-creation-modern/561516-greens-suns-zenith
Again, that is not the deck I am talking about. For the third time, it was called Harvest Wave. Here's the link. www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/much-abrew-harvest-wave-modern
PalPlays okay I get it. Thought you were referring to this: ua-cam.com/video/la6nge2hXbg/v-deo.html They are very similar in that they both hinge on early harvest for big mana.
Could we get away with running one or two World Breakers in this deck? It's a big creature that eats a land, and it's colorless, which helps against the Mirran Crusader we ran into.
“ we know what our opponent is drawing for the next two turns… LANDS (evil laugh)”.
You are a wicked man, love your show.
That moment when you realize your opponent is on Oops all Lilianas.
Dillon Baca that's what tormod is for
Plow Under {3}{g}{g}
Sorcery
Target player scoops it up.
Word.
My God it's almost 1 in the morning and I am sitting here watching people get locked out of lands by a $100 deck. Only the best of content as always.
solotopp question: Do you think 100 dollars is a lot or not much?
In case you don't care too much for the deck techs, games start at 7:49. I however enjoyed the breakdown of the changes that were made between this deck and the original.
"Nothing Gives me Joy like blowing up opponents' land"
I always knew you got me Saffron.
puts in Bramblecrush to kill planeswalkers - uses Primal Command to kill a planeswalker while holding Bramblecrush >.
This may be the most beautiful deck I've ever seen.
Monkey Flipping I know he mentioned how it could kill Jace but then failed to realize that it could also kill Liliana.
Because he trying to kill graveyard lingering souls and shit
I’m really late in finding this, but just wanted to say that I am very fond of this deck. Green’s my favorite color, but strangely I’m more of a control/denial player (blue’s a close second) so I enjoy any deck exploring this side of it. I love this deck Seth, whether it works or not it brings a smile to the repetitious days of stress that seem never-ending.
I recited the beginning with Seth. I think I'm in too deep.
Heeeeeeelloooo, everyone!
You've barely scratched the surface.
I do this too!
I recite it when I'm not even watching him.
@@brewbrewbrewthedeck4138 shut your mouth bitch
Who hurt you?
Spells cast off of lands ;p
Junior Yang I love decks like this.
Tron, probably
Yeah, Tron. Our love can overcome that though
Tron and eldrazi
Thanks for the video. I just ran this deck (or a very similar one) at my LGS. Now I only went 1-2, but my matches were great and I got a lot of ooos and ahhhs from people watching my games. The star was Plow Under! What a card! This is a great budget deck! Thanks so much!
6:14 "...which will eventually overwhelm our opponent with little flying deathtouch bees". Lol. Comments like this is what makes already great videos amazing. Keep it up!
You post a looot of content, why is it all so good?
Would be pretty sweet if you ramped into Primeval Titans so you can search out Ghost Quarters. Mono Green Ponza. But that wouldn't be budget friendly :(
Bryan Tan Cloudthresher would have been fine. Nobody expects green burn.
Or you can just have the titans tutor out Ramunap Ruins and Sun Scorched Deserts. Welcome to standard suckers.
Bryan Tan Well if you're on that plan valakut and mountains should be stronger. And we all know that Deck already.
JonaxII And abandon the land destruction plan? Never
Absolutely love the graphic on this one!!
Yeah, it's one of the best ones.
I built a mono g devotion deck based on your budget deck awhile back and put in Plow under and Stampeding Serow. Plow under is one of my favorite cards to play. Oh it feels so good!

Ssstttooopppp keeepiiinnnggggg one landers
With a 20-land deck no less.
when you have 3 mana dorks its not the worst time to keep a one lander
Paul Anderson yea but you know Olive if loves a reason to keep 1 landers and it usually turns out bad when "He" does it.
why is "he" in quotes?
CSDragon To denote tone?
I think a Reclamation Sage would have been good, with the bounce shenanigans, and good against aether vial
"Tibalt....TIBALT IN MODERN" -Seth, 2018
seth you really do make an insane amount of content, thanks for everything you do, you keep me interested in the game of magic
Thanks!
Awwwwwe ... the moments when you are in control and your opponents suddenly draws exactly what they need and you draw only land after lands. I DON'T miss those days ... at least I am not the only one who has such bad luck so many times. I really enjoy your videos and I am thinking on restarting in mtgo. Keep up the good work.
Plow Under has to be one of my favorite cards ever. It gets rid of an opponent's lands AND screws with their draws. So much value!
Never realized how weird wildebeests looks when it's written out...
This deck reminds me of Stupid Green Deck from the late 90s. It was so fun.
pretty strong deck!! that last oponent was a major troll running miran crusader main board
I'd love to see the opponent's Tibalt list. That's some spicy shit there. (And I'd love to try itXD)
I need to see more decklists for u/r hollow one I’m so intrigued
40:00 why not block young pyromancer with arbor elf? had a few opportunities to
The attack was weird enough that I felt like something would go wrong, but considering how bad that game was going, probably should have just tried it anyway.
We need to get Seth to play Bogles again. Then he can keep one landers without losing every time.
Well...that was awesome. I've always thought that green could only be control if it used land destruction. And it turns out that there's potential to be had...
Probably my all time favorite deck.
your decks look like good templates for commander decks
1:02:20
Seth's best impression of an aging southern blues musician who just had a long day and now hears that the late night act just cancelled so he has to fill in a double.
Seth should do commentary on some Pro matches, he's so hyped up
I like how Saffron was giggling and cackling all the way through while playing this deck hahaha
Hey Seth - the CardKingdom link doesn't work. And do you have a link to the Goldfish decklist? Thanks
www.mtggoldfish.com/articles/budget-magic-100-60-tix-mono-green-land-destruction-modern
Gaea's Revenge is a cool card. Weatherseed Treefolk has the downside of not being Modern legal ;)
Why didn't i notice that the first time... I just threw it out of an EDH list i had, so it seems that i fucked up along the way. Well, no harm done. Thanks for spotting that.
We have to see this as "against the odds"!
Bravo, Seth, that late game 1 against Death and Taxes was a textbook case of playing to your outs. Guess this is more proof that the Super League performance was not a fluke :>
Oh, just wait until tomorrow when I'll do something incredibly stupid and lose because of it :)
As soon as I saw it I knew seth would be playing it.
Prooooobably better known as Land destruction lock!
This may just be the funniest deck I've seen
12:15 That pure evil laugh of enjoyment, exquisite!
29:30 This laugh was more along the lines of, "Oh wow so that's what boobs look like."-childish glee.
Laugh appraiser on duty.
Tibalt in the wild!
John L I see you haven't found a tibalt deck in modern.
Louise Drake I just found it!
I think for fighting black decks, Obstinate Baloth might be better in the SB vs black decks. Another life gainer, plus dumping one when opp plays Lilli is awesome.
Bugged primal command art in the deck tech?
Yeah, that was weird.
Best title card EVER.
I think you're forgetting Nicol Bolas with an uzi.
Black Red land destro do itttt
army ants lockdown! would not that be great?
king massephase army ants and crucible of worlds. Winter orb. There’s so many good combos
Limited Resources is a strong card in the right build here because it's a lock piece by itself. Also Raze is probably better than Army Ants even though it's only a 1 turn deal.
Can we get the thumbnail as a 1080p background? It is glorious
What a first game against Death and Taxes!
Blue red hollow one with tibalt on much abrew when?
That match against Leonin Arbiter, jeez.
with the plow unders and the witness/command lock, wouldn't you consider this almost a mono-green "infinite turn" deck?
I need to ask, why do I always see creeping corrosion over fracturing gust? For an extra mana you get instant speed artifact and enchantment removal that ALSO puts you pretty far on life.
You answered your own question with "for an extra mana".
You're dead before turn 5 for Affinity.
Budget.
MTGGoldfish I guess I haven't checked the price of gust in a while so that makes sense.
Colgate Lampinen In any normal deck it's pretty bad to pay an extra mana but if you're looking to cast primal command on turn 4, it's probably not that hard to cast gust either.
You had me at plow under.
Might be worth considering putting a couple of Tangle Golems in the sideboard to deal with Pro Green Threats.
26:03 "This is the dream ... and an ooze!" hahaha
I love Plow Under. So UNDERrated!! Bahaha!
I'd shove in a few Desert of the Indomitable, you could cycle it in the late game and it's budget friendly
Lol, Seth screaming about the nuts
Another MTG Goldfish deck to build.
deck was sweet! And damping sphere is only like 0.10 tix online so that would be a great answer to storm :)
Yeah, being uncommon is awesome, makes it cheap and accessible.
I think this deck could use a Boseiju or two, either main or sideboard, to help resolve those Plow Unders and Primal Commands against counterspell-heavy decks
Leave it to Seth to make Budget Mono-Green Prison
OMG that thumbnail art. So aggressive
41:00 yes is rough from rough is yes has to be one of my favorite sethisms
maybe add a Hurricane in the main or sideboard. You make enough mana that you can do a spite hurricane for a draw in games that you're losing. And you can just win with it too!
Guttural Response needs more love in decks like this..
TheBongSauce I have a playset in all sideboards of my green/red combo decks
might want to try wurmcoil either main or side to help deal with those crusaders, despite it being just a great card anyway.
Me you and another person need to play in a SCG team event. We all play land destruction :) haha. Just troll people :) I’ll play it in legacy
Corbin Brown I'll take standard
I think it was fine to side in 2 naturalize for 2 STE against Death&Taxes to get rid of that obnoxious Aether Vial and it works fine with golem tokens too
Please more of this deck.
deckstats.net/decks/103045/1054967-mono-green-control-august-4th- this the current list for this deck from the creator
Messing us up with the change to the intro card. Lol.
Why not go 2 and 2 with llanowar elves and the mystics? Gets around staticasters and similar removal
Ah stampeding wildebeests. I haven't seen that card in ages. It was in 10th edition.
Melissa Grenier I have fond memories of bouncing wall of blossoms, spike feeder and spike weaver in 1997/98...lunch table magic at it's finest....
clelvis225 you're a monster. I love it.
Obstinate Baloth seems like a better card vs black than colossus, and it's good vs aggro, too. Maybe -1 Thrag, -1 Chameleon, +2 Baloth ?
Seth, better known as "Seth, probably better known as SaffronOlive"
Cloud thresher as for flyers because they were hard to beat for the deck
Maybe add in some harmonize's to try to draw out of those bad Mana/dork/ramp floods
what if you add harmonize for card draw? seems decent
Shouldn't you have boarded in the artifact hate versus Death and Taxes? I mean, last game would've been a massive blowout.
Anyway, for such a budget that was awesome!
gotta respect who is playing Drake haven in modern
1:05:10 why didn't you play the utopia sprawl, and then play acid-moss?
its beautiful
Why was the only thing in Seth's sideboard game 1 a Tormad's Crypt?
Sadness of needing fetch lands to make the deck perfect. Really wish wizards would just make them uncommon, they make magic a better game and everyone should get to play with them.
Yeah, it's sort of funny since they are just for shuffling with Courser of Kruphix, but it would help.
And thinning the deck of land Seth. If you have no lands you can't draw them :p I want a common or uncommon land with: "Tap, sac. Search your deck for a copy of a basic land you currently have in play and put it onto the battlefield." Could also have tap, add 1 to mana pool. but that may be too good.
well now I want to dip my toe into modern
I have a similar deck to this but with a turn 4 ormendahl +tainted strike combo
And the card kingdom link doesn't work
Huh, people actually click that? Good for the channel, I suppose.
why wouldn't they
You sick man.
That Blood Moon!!! X-D
omg I used to play stampeding wilderbeasts with wall of blossoms back in the day in standard.........................was called type 2 then iirc?
Stampeding wildebeests was in my first kitchen table deck but it was a reprinted version
I had it in a really old 5 colour green deck it had goodies in it like nekrataal Man-o'-War and birds of paradise
I wish that Seth would do more with the Vernal Bloom, Early Harvest package that he used a while back. I've been testing it and have cast a Torment of Hailfire X=200+ on turn three.

should have boarded in the naturalizes
Could we get away with running one or two World Breakers in this deck? It's a big creature that eats a land, and it's colorless, which helps against the Mirran Crusader we ran into.
