There are many songs sung by non singers that goes right to your heart. This is one.
Big fan of Lee Marvin. Loved all of his movies and his tv show in the 1950's.
Don’t know how I found myself here - fair and square down Memory Lane. Dad loved this film - he and Mom took us to see it on a rainy day whilst on holiday in Paignton, Devon. Being a brat I complained as I never expected to love the film like I did. I lost my dear Dad in May this year how I wish I could turn back the clock. Miss you Dad - sorry I was such a grump, I’ll be seeing you and Mom again sometime
❤️💔❤️

Saw this film as a small boy, now 58 and still love it

I remember loving this song as a kid in the early 70's. I remember listening to it on the radio with my Mum. Memories. 😪
What a great actor. 🇺🇲
Marvin's "singing" was "Like rain gurgling down a rusty pipe."-Co-star Jean Seberg.
I was born 1969 ♥
I can NOT imagine anyone singing this song better than Lee Marvin. With his amazing sexy gravely voice. Just purfect for him to sing. Well done Lee xxxx

Absolutely love this song.
He was a great actor playing most villain roles, love his movie The Man who shot Liberty Valance with John Wayne..
The Dirty Dozen was another great movie with Lee Marvin.

:) "Sounds from another time! Like a kind of time travel!"
It would be hard to imagine any other actor playing this role. Lee Marvin was a great actor and he was absolutely perfect for the part. RIP Lee, Semper Fi.
My Dad loved this tune, 35 years after his death it's one of my favourites. Lee couldn't carry a note but he made this tune his own.
Well sung, Lee, old roughneck ; perfect for this lovely musical.
I was born with this song in my head .....we had a wireless and it was on all the time after the valves had warmed up which was the warmest place in the house ...my brother stood in my cornflakes and I still had to eat them. We had jumble sales and whist drives, rope swings, dens and comfort, Lee Marvin singing I was born under a wanderin' star ...and a mothers love
