      @@danielsmith225 You can't be serious.
      1. You are harping on semantics. The English language tells us about synonyms. The words ghost and spirit are directly, not indirectly, synonymous.
      2. Ghosts and spirits ARE THE SAME THING in Old English terms. Just because you believe in your personal opinion that ghost means goblin or dead person and spirit means Holy Spirit does not make you correct here. The word ghost is literally another word for spirit in Old English.
      3. Sprits or ghosts are sentient beings, that makes them PERSONS by default. Whether you call a ghost a ghost or a spirit a spirit has nothing to do with the sentience that makes them personal beings.
      4. In the English language there is 'common accepted jargon' and 'coined jargon'. It is commonly accepted jargon to call the Holy Spirit the Holy Ghost. If you think God is offended then ask Him is He offended. That's how you properly approach a situation you don't understand.
If you want be an advocate for God then you must speak in truth bud...

In the specific society of humans, will the majority of the society tolerate the "cultural" killing of very young infants within a subgroup as long as it doesn't disrupt the lifes of the majority outside group?

@computeraidedyami many species in fact compete for the limited resources available to them, which is why many species have also gone extinct. Even within their own species animals will fight for those resources, be it home, food, water, a female etc. So no I don't think morality comes from an evolutionary instincts. Someone stealing from you to ensure they get the female would stand to reason with instincts. Killing other people to get their home to ensure your young survive makes sense when it comes down to natural selection. Only the strong survive. Heck lion's will kill a lioness cubs so that he can have a chance of passing his own genetic traits down. Why isn't that our morality then? Why don't stronger men kill women's children to then rape and have their young be the next generation? We see animals act immoraly in these sense and we say is instincts natural selection yet we say we are like animals just smarter so we know not to do the same cause it leads to extinction?? Well it doesn't not for the species that is successfully taking those resources, which we are by taking it away from animals, but what is stopping is from turning on our own like so many other species do and survive? I don't think is evolution its a higher standard of morality that comes from God almighty Jesus.

@@zenon3021 I know hell to be real from personal spiritual experience and because I believe the Bible and Jesus to be a reliable source. Plenty of miracles have proven Jesus and Mary to be real such as Our Lady of Zeitoun where Mary appeared to 1,000,000 people and real photos were taken of her. Eucharistic Miracles have happened where real flesh and blood have formed on the Eucharist which is the wafer that Priest preform a blessing on and scientist have studied them and been stumped. The Shroud of Turin is another good piece of evidence as it has a miraculous image of Jesus on it that baffles scientist. The Shroud was wrongly dated to the medieval times as a patch that people of the time used to repair it was carbon dated instead of the original linen. In the New Testament, in some of the gospels they leave out details while others add details to complete the statement just like you would see in a news paper if two people were telling the same story.

Hell is a realm that's far away from God. He acknowledges your decision and respects your free will and that's why you go to hell! Clearly you haven't read the Bible to understand God. This shows that human morality is subjective as some human societies find bad things morally good. Christianity says that even if these societies were doing something good, it would still be objectively bad.

I’d argue caring for the sick and helpless are not essential to protecting the survival of the species. An injured wolf, or a puppy on the verge of death, will be immediately discarded and abandoned by a pack of wolves as helping is on the contrary detrimental to the survival of the majority of the species. Morality in a human context far supersedes any species this world has known, therefore the search for an explanation for this top of the food chain status bestowed upon us.

@@computeraidedyami Researcher, journalist, and teacher here... How many wolves have you interviewed to determine the motives behind their actions? Indeed, certain behaviours help the survival of a group, NOT a species as inter-specie warfare does take place. "Moral" behaviours could entirely be a result of a member trying to increase their status in a group or to create alliances, like in a group of chimps, having nothing to do with what we consider morality. However, these few instances of what appears to be morality fly out the window, due to millions of acts that are simply cruel. Google search "animals that kill for fun" and you'll see what I mean. Then there's the monkeys in India/Pakistan that steal babies and throw them off roofs and the group of chimps on a game preserve that hunted down their caretakers and ripped them apart for no reason.

@@computeraidedyami Thanks for the reply. I’m so glad you’ve commented. I used to a huge atheist and would probably have agreed with you about 30 odd years ago. But you’ve missed something massive, in your thinking. If we’re just a great big cosmic accident then these processes are just part of the evolutionary function. But let’s take a look at your life and what you’ve done in your life? Let’s look at the things you’ve done that never told anyone, not even your best friend. The things you’re ashamed of. Look at the way you’ve treated people in the past. Those things you really wish hadn’t happened, that you hadn’t done. Say just this last month? The things you’ve thought about people? What you’ve done? Now if I was able to video of those thoughts and actions and I said I was going to show them on the video screens in Times Square how would you feel about that? I know for a fact you’d feel “SHAME and “GUILT”. Plus the way you tried to explain away all because you’re an “Evolutionary physiologist” absolutely smacks of “PRIDE”
But hang on a minute, there’s no God to judge us in anyway? No great cosmic being recording our sins. Heck we can do what ever we want. It’s all just a predestined mental processes that everyone has. So why the guilt dude??
You suffer from pride, you’re wracked with guilt and shame, but you get no blessing from God because there isn’t one. You have no actual point to your life because there isn’t one. You absolutely no value and any implied value is only relative. Because we’re just part of a pointless big bang that could implode back in on itself at any moment, and you don’t matter! Tell me again why you’re an athiest?
See the truth is you’re suppressing the truth about God because you like living how you want to live, doing whatever it is that you want to do. You don’t want God telling you what to do. But you can try and suppress it all you want, you can try and explain away all this incredible fascinating creation as just evolutionary process but in the end you know deep in your heart that God really does exist, but you’re just denying Him. The Bible calls it “suppressing the truth in unrighteousness”. (Romans 1:18) God is as plain as day to you, because He has made everything about himself completely plain to you. (Romans 1:19) It also says “They became futile in their thinking.” (Romans 1:21) They also “profess themselves to be wise….” (Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭22‬) I think your opening statement proved that. The truth is you ARE going to face Jesus one day. What will you say to Him?
Come to Jesus, turn from your sins and accept Him as your saviour. He’ll deal with your pride, He’ll take away your guilt and your shame. He’ll wash away your sins and make you His son.
Before the creation of the world He was thinking of you! You have massive value to God. You are deeply loved by Him. You are His treasure, the apple of His eye.
      Come to Jesus bud. 😉😎👍🏻

@@steveindorset You focused on the concept of shame, which is defined by a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior.
Shame is a social construct that evokes a psychological and physiological response. Would you be ashamed to be naked in front of your coworkers? Would you be ashamed to be naked when alone taking a shower? Are people ashamed to be naked on a nude beach? Why does a woman feel shame if air lifts her skirt up but not when at the beach in less clothing than when at another place? Being naked is not in itself shameful, if it was, then people would bathe clothed, would not breast feed, use a swim suit, etc.
Assuming that you have sex with a woman that you are married to thus being a non-sinful act according to the bible. Would you let the people at your church know how many times you have sex and what positions? If your answer is no, why would that be if it is in accordance with what a god described as good? You might answer that is something private and the question would be, why? Shouldn't you be proud that you are a healthy man capable of having sex many times a week?
There are many things that people will shame others for, even if they are considered good. Shame will be determined by a mind or group of minds and it will be applied depending on the behavior of a person in a determined place.
