@@biggie_bossI’m playing vanilla skyrim as I type this. Despite it’s low resolution and cut corners, the game is still beautiful even when compared to newer games. Your modpack takes away from the atmosphere and art style of the original game. Saadia is supposed to be in hiding, so wearing a flamboyant and eye catching redguard outfit is counter-intuitive. Mikael is supposed to be an unlikable prick who is despised by women, so making him hot doesn’t make much sense. The guards are iconic to the game, and your mods completely alter their original vibe. Their supposed to be faceless and disposable enforcers of the law, only there to keep the people safe and signify the hold’s allegiance. This new armor appears elaborate and decorative, which is not what you want to give to the guy who’s fighting off bandits and dragons. Skyrim is designed to look run down and decaying, so making everyone and their clothing look smooth, plastic, and well taken care of only takes away from the game’s soul. Higher resolution ≠ better.
So... Someone needs to learn that "HD" and 3D does not always look better. For one, those character models don't seem to be wearing armour and clothing that even comes close to fitting, and they look like Barbie dolls, looking made of plastic and covered in paint, way too clean and pristine, and that's not even touching on the uncanny valley of the statue faces trying to talk. The stones in that road also look like painted plastic, like those stones you'd put in a fish tank and not ones you'd find on a road, not to mention the 3D effect on the road makes it look nore like a child placed stones in the dirt instead of a road that people have been walking on even for months, let alone years. So... No, this doesn't look as good as vanilla Skyrim. Not to me. Hell, this doesn't even look as good as Oblivion. By "worse than vanilla" I don't think they mean in terms of graphical fidelity, more like art direction. Many of these textures and models look out of place and feel very inconsistent with the overall aesthetic and feel of Skyrim. Not hating though, it's impressive to see how far skyrim modding has come in the past decade.
They aren't inconsistent though. They are all very consistent. It's just high-fantasy compared to Skyrim's vanilla grimy look. Look at all the weapons, armors, clothes, trees, houses, etc in this list. It's all very consistently high-fantasy and vibrant.
@@biggie_bossYes it is lmao, one look at this modlist your showcasing, it has abilities and creatures that aren’t even in the elder scrolls universe. Modded skyrim is amazing, but I would rather play a vanilla version on a xbox 360 then this list.
Abilities and creatures outside of the universe isn't a new modding phenomenon. People been doing that since literally Daggerfall. It's still consistent in this list's vision. the thing that makes it look like shit is the terrible, janky combat animations for over the top actions against some dead guy in a crypt, the guard armors are totally out of place, sadia looks like an anime side character instead of a refugee from hamerfell, hiding from the alik'r, so her stupid outfit has no merit, your parallax close ups dont mean shit when youre trying to get through a dungeon of draugr that is killing your FPS where it matters, and your ENB is wayyy too saturated. Vanilla aged terribly but it had art direction.
look at anything in this video and tell me you see a frozen, war-torn country full of axe-throwing, elf maiming, snow eating beefcakes being destroyed further still by the return of otherworldly enemies from before the First Era.
It "looks worse" in general artistic direction IMO but not the actual graphics and individual textures. Some people love it though. I like the characters though.
My brother in christ, this looks like an hd minecraft texture pack. That guard armor is so lore inaccurate that it causes hemorrhoids to any redditor nearby
I’m actually curious as to how that armor is not lore accurate. I feel like cities personalizing the guards’ armor is totally plausible, unless there is some in universe statement I’m missing.
@user-tx9yo1tt5l its the detail in the armor, the reason its pretty ridiculous is because logically someone has to make said armor, in normal skyrim is believable to have them all kinda look the same because its kinda generic looking but here, its all engraved. Armor unique to each city is fine, but having complex designs meant for simple city guards, is like giving each and every cop on the street a set of swat gear.
@@jaredkiefer2534 The armor there is far more realistic than whatever the hell vanilla Skyrim was aiming for. Hell the average guard armor doesn't even cover the entirety of the arms and legs. Considering the guards are also meant to be part of a Jarl's (who is also a Nordic King in his own right) retinue, it makes no sense for their armor to be as shoddy as it is unless it's in some impoverished location like Morthal.
I don't know about this mod pack from this short. But there's a mod pack out there that actually makes Skyrim "uglier". It makes the grass so green, almost like neon green. Feels so out of place in a cold place like Skyrim.

And this is why I’m building my PC around Skyrim mods. This is gorgeous
The problem is models aren’t updated appropriately so you have these super high res textures on lower polygon models and it starts to look a bit uncanny.
It looks especially bad on that volcano where the volumetric effects of Skyrim just aren’t that good for a 2011 game.
They also don’t appear to react well with the game’s lighting system.
Have you played recently? There are high poly models.
High poly mods have been a thing for a while now
The guard armour looks stunning , almost looks like a Rohan royal guard which i also love the aesthetic of
yeah it looks dope
It's called Sons of skyrim, iirc
“So look at this road..” (road shining brilliantly at 10fps)
I've been running the Aurora modlist from WBJ with around 30 gameplay/hud/UI mods that I added myself in Mod Organizer, its turning out to be a fantastic farewell playthrough before Starfield finally comes out
With Skyrim it's never truly goodbye - just see you later.
Want to play this modlist for yourself? Want something closer to vanilla? Make sure you sub to get all the latest modlist news! Most of the modlists I cover are on wabbajack.org and auto-install for you.
I downloaded wabbajack and followed all instructions from a few tutorials. Wabbajack wouldnt find my game though, any suggestions?
@@jakem4431Make sure you run the game once.
Fine i'll mod skyrim agian
Im not ignoring the jiggle
That mod list and Herika, my dream could be completed
Wish I had a pc that good
you don't need a PC with rtx 4090. i run 3k+ modlist with a ryzen 2700x cpu and rx 5700 gpu. this is a 2019 PC = 5 years old. mods in 2K resolution look very good. you don't need to download every mod in 8K resolution to look good. this is something that most modders don't say.
The man who made this mod list should be given the task of making the tes6 game. a true legend. Made me totally addicted to the game.
In charge of elder scrolls 6 because of a mod list ? Come on now there's a huge difference between putting a list of pre made mods together and creating one of the most anticipated titles in gaming. The most list is great makes skyrim look awesome but thay doesn't mean he should make elder scrolls 6
@@hoopla5502 I'm aware of that too, man. but the man has officially created a new game with mods. I exaggerated to praise the man who made the list.
It's a mod list.... Get the programmers. Why is everyone so dumb?
I love you Set up
"Theres a little Skyrim in your mods" just fits perfectly for 4,000 mods
You can install thousands of mods but it will never fix skyrim's oldness.
Was it absolutely necessary to murder the bunny? Also, damn beautiful Skyrim. I am scared to get into Nexus modding. I worry I might have files that corrupt or conflict with each other.
Yes. Also, just use modlists :) they auto install for you
There's a bunnies slaughtered statistic counter in the default menu
Those embers look almost as hot as the flaming wreckage that would be created as my computer tries to run the mods
As someone from North Dakota I’ve been trying to save enough money to buy a PC that can show me what real grass looks like.
Grass is a myth
the thing that makes it look like shit is the terrible, janky combat animations for over the top actions against some dead guy in a crypt, the guard armors are totally out of place, sadia looks like an anime side character instead of a refugee from hamerfell, hiding from the alik'r, so her stupid outfit has no merit, your parallax close ups dont mean shit when youre trying to get through a dungeon of draugr that is killing your FPS where it matters, and your ENB is wayyy too saturated. Vanilla aged terribly but it had art direction.
look at anything in this video and tell me you see a frozen, war-torn country full of axe-throwing, elf maiming, snow eating beefcakes being destroyed further still by the return of otherworldly enemies from before the First Era.
I personally like the guard armor overhaul but yeah everything else just looks like garbage imo.
Proof that random high res textures with no synergy or cohesion wont make your game look better:
When you have a bunch of HD textures laid on the background of SD textures, it really stands out and it's quite jarring.
Pfuscher is an actual wizard😮
About 75% looked worse
k
It "looks worse" in general artistic direction IMO but not the actual graphics and individual textures. Some people love it though. I like the characters though.
My brother in christ, this looks like an hd minecraft texture pack. That guard armor is so lore inaccurate that it causes hemorrhoids to any redditor nearby
Redditors already have hemorrhoids.
@@biggie_boss thats. Fair.
You need a government super computer to run it through.
People saying that it look worse than vanilla are lying to themselves in order to cope with the fact their pc’s can’t get the same visuals
TRUTH
I don't know about this mod pack from this short. But there's a mod pack out there that actually makes Skyrim "uglier". It makes the grass so green, almost like neon green. Feels so out of place in a cold place like Skyrim.
I think it's more the fact everything being HD doesn't mean it looks good style matters alot. This is why even tho Nintendo games aren't graphical masterpieces, games like botw n xenoblade still look gorgeous.
Well, some of it does kinda look worse, but some of it looks better. Like the modern day pigeon, or the guards armor that doesn’t at all fit. But then the skeleton or roads do look somewhat better. Also I can’t even play on this mod pack because I’m on console
@@biggie_bosswhat mod is it that gives "them" jiggle physics?
All I saw in this whole video was the jiggle
:) thicccccc saadia jiggles
Does this come in an alternate package with sane texture sizes for people who want to play a game not watch a benchmark?
You had me at HD cheese
this still looks bad
Your opinion.
Coping lmao
@@loowick4074 i love diminishing artstyles for a game that is curated to revolve around a style for my “OooOoGghhh big boobs generic fantasy aesthetic”
@@loowick4074 and i personally play skyrim with a nice custom ENB and visual mods but i will always never stray from the vanilla feel of “oh hey this is elder scrolls”
I just got pc gamepass and never played skyrim before, wanted to add a wabbajack in to the mod folder in the game. Will that be a problem?
need a perfect mod list for skyrim together reborn lol
webbajack webbajack webbajack webbajack !
The hair alone would melt my set up
Melted hair hell yea
But where is the beard physics
My computer: KILL ME!! Make it stop it burns!!
And I thought my install of Lexy's guide looked nice. Good on you man. I hope one day I'll get a computer that gets close to running Lexy's guide at a good fps, let alone this
Only thing I don’t like is the armor. Original guard armor is just such an icon to me
We are no better than him. We all saw those physics and heard not a word he was saying
“You ever see an HD Sadia?”
Several times now, thanks to you
We all hit the comment button when we saw that jiggle. Ugh *hug for my lonely homies.*
Bro even had jiggle physics
My laptop with all these mods: 🔥🔥🔥🔥💥
If i install all of these mods, my pc is going to turn into nuclear bomb
Win-win
What's your pc setup
it's in the description :)
Any recommendations for a mod list that will run smoothly on a GTX 1060 6GB with a i7 5820 3.30 GHz
I know it's outdated but I'm working with what I got
That’s just a thing that people do, someone told me red dead 1 looks better then 2 the other day.
People are just blinded by nostalgia
Is there a recommended best graphic mod list for Xbox ? I just got back into Skyrim it’s been 7-10 years with these mods tho it’s like never before.
I dont have an xbox :(
