    i'm thinking of using a 4 channel line level converter for my Amp and parcel shelf speakers only (leaving front speakers alone). is it easiest if my line level converter is installed in the boot (where my sub and amp are) to make it easier to splice the wires together? and do i only plug in the speaker wires from the head unit to the line level converter?

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  4 роки тому

      Kyle McArthur Just to confirm, you’re using a 4CH line level converter to run rear speakers from. And also sub + amp?

      @@TheFittingBay yeah i sure am

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  4 роки тому +1

      Kyle McArthur the right way would be to pick up signal from each speaker at the front but you can go to the rears. Chop the speaker wire then use the signal side to go to each line level and the speaker side needs to run to the amp (rears). Just make sure you mount them securely and screw them in without screwing to far and going into the parcel shelf. Otherwise they’ll rattle and it’ll sound like sh*t

    Okay so what I get from this is that if I buy a line converter splice and run +&- from LF speaker and +&- from RF speaker and power from the battery can i use that loose blue plug as well to run remote line ? If so then all that would be left to do is to run cables down the trim and into the boot And plug in ?
    Cheers

    If I have an amp with front left/right RCA and back left/right RCA, can I just take from any as long as its left and right? I'm assuming the front and rear get the same signal and music doesn't fade front to back, only left to right?

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  4 роки тому +1

      Billy Crystal665 hey mate. Yep it will. You will need to pick up all 4 speakers so you can do one line level in front kick panel and the other on passenger side and run the RCAS over to one side (you choose which side) very important that, unlike this video, you don’t run RCA and power (battery) together. For small subwoofer application it’s fine, for speakers you need to run powers and rca on opposite side of the car to prevent noise (that annoying whining coming from speakers).
      So i would do the drivers side as I did in this video, run the RCA to passenger side, do the other one behind glove box (the rest of car speakers are there) and then run all 4 rca down passenger side. Powers run down driver side.
      Hope that helps

      Brad Bosco Yep sweet as. So you don’t have to connect power. Just the speakers and it’ll do its thing. Same way we’ve done it here. The Audio GND gets connected if you have noise but if you’re doing a sub you will be fine. You can connect the power if you want then extend the blue remote cable to the amp . Either is fine. You can copy exactly what I’ve done here and it’ll work fine too

      The Fitting Bay ok so what’s happing is the sub is playing music when the volume is turning up and might cut out if any vibration happens for example the door shutting stops the music going to he sub 🤔u think it might be a speaker wire connection issue???

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  4 роки тому +1

      Journey Porter Did you check the the RCA cables? Could be that. Also if you get the sub pumping have someone look at the amp LEDS and then when the sub switches off after closing a door or whatever check the state of the amp then you can rule out power being an issue like a loose GND connection etc

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  5 років тому +3

      Kahurangi Albert You don’t need to connect directly to factory radio.
      Amp only needs
      BATTERY
      GROUND
      REMOTE
      RCA SIGNAL
      To run a sub. So we connect directly to battery for power
      Short GROUND wire connected to body
      ACC from fuse box (remote)
      And line level converter - this turns speaker (high) level into RCA (low) level. So the amp sees the signal it needs and has power and will send power to the sub/s

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  4 роки тому +1

      Aussie Drift Only left and right. The other two are powers (red and black) and the blue gets power when it sees sound signal. Great for cars with CANBUS etc however the good old falcon just has Acc / IGN for radio power so you can use that

      @rosst3725 4 роки тому +1

    • @TheFittingBay
      @TheFittingBay  4 роки тому +1

      Aussie Drift If you have all powers done just check the GND. A solid bolt or body part with no paint can help. Then Check the RCA connection is on the amp input (some amps have output) and if the amp has more than one speaker output or can be bridged try that. And just for testing purposes give the line level converted the power and GND. Usually rarely a product failure esp if new
