I am enjoying watching someone who knows what they are doing, thanks for the great content. Just curious to why you put round speakers in the doors rather than 5x7s?
Just felt like it to be honest, thought it would sound better but I probably misjudged that a little and maybe a component 6.5" speaker with external tweeters would of given the better sound I was aiming for
Factory stereo are pigs and rust behind the speakers the sponge a great trap for water changing head unit is not a lot of room if you wish to run RCA cables back to the upgraded amp in the boot been there done that anyway thanks for sharing.
Do you know if the aux works with these aftermarket speaker my Bluetooth that plugs under the fuse box isn't working with my new speaker only the old any idea why I'm guessing maybe the speakers only run through the head unit
Thanks mate. Helpful video. I’ve got a BA fairlane that supposedly has 11 speakers but I can only count seven. I think they probably have a few splits and they count them as separate but I need to do some homework but this videos help me out. Thanks.
hey mate awesome video im looking at buying the exact same setup , was the speaker bass better? i cbf with putting in an amp and all the shit just want to run the stock head unit
Look it was a little better but nowhere near as good as if you ran an amp and sub woofer If you want more bass I’d recommend going to a bigger driver something more like a 6x9 in the rear and I believe they also fit the front with a little cutting
Not off the top of my head.. this car used to have a single din back in 08/09 but has been removed and wires sent back to stock head unit… Try forum searching on xr6turbo.com
I got a aftermarket Kenwood headunit and CB radio in a airopro facia kit , alpine type g 6.5 splits in the front Kenwood 3way 6x9s in the rear a JBL 12inch sub and Kenwood 500w rms amp , sounds so much better than the factory headunit,
@@xtongan_reaperrr188 i didnt buy any wireing looms i made my own . Used factory antenna plug Ran a constant 12v from battrey to the head unit constant power ..used switching power from the fuse box so it comes on when key is on accessories .. tapped into the factory speaker wires behind the glove box and above drivers foot well behind fuse panel speaker wires are twisted all the rest are left straight in factory loom ran my own over sized power cables and rca in boot that does the sub .... factory headunit is still connected but has no speakers connected to it
Every now and then you’ll find them on eBay but that’s all I’ve ever seen. They stopped making them a long time ago and don’t think any aftermarket places make cheap ones
I just used a 5mm socket when I did my speakers in my ba, worked perfectly
Good advice have pinned your comment
@@bentles cheers mate, keen as for more comment
@@dylanpillar2678mechanic here, guilty of doing this all the time instead of using the correct e-torx socket 🤣
I just wanted to see the speakers play after you install them.

Not sure sorry, if your speakers just plugged into the same wires I’m not sure why that’s happened

Would anyone know what wiring loom you would need to connect a single din headunit without replacing the whole iso unit

Hey just wondering when you installed that what wiring loom did you buy and how did you connect it to your headunit
