Tip for bump stop jack up the rear of the car and then use a second jack to push the IRS arm into the bump stop that’s how I got my superpro bump stops on
Thanks for the wonderful video Browney, others did videos but didn’t explain anything about loosing the upper control arm and shock. The top of the shock worked well for me in the end. Thanks again mate 👍
My front of the car is factory I believe and it just scraps over the gutters. I don’t want to lower the front but I wanna drop the ass down a bit any suggestions?
Not unusual, especially the XR's front bar is quite low factory. If you're currently XR height maybe try SL in the rear? Or is stock falcon height could try XR/L springs in the rear. That or avoid gutters/kerbs? Had to be said 🤣
Hey Jakob. As you’d know clearance even at the stock height for the XR’s isn’t great, even at the front bumper, despite them not looking very low. I haven’t measured it but I’d say it could very possibly give you some troubles sorry.
You have a bent sway bar link on the front! Also if you mark the strut hat before you remove them makes it easy to reassemble first go when put the strut back in the car
Browney's Garage No problem, i’ve done so many of these cars I see when somethings up, good vids for the guys out there learning, I like to watch how others do repairs as it’s interesting to see different perspectives.
Great video thanks do you have any experience knowledge on lowering a nl fairlane 4.0 with self adjusting rear suspension not too low I've got various rear shocks monro sports and comfort then what king spring set up I'm running DJR 15" rims
Damn you've been busy bingeing a few of these eps, thanks for watching mate... but also sorry you have put up with so much of my head! I don't have any experience with that specifically but from what I've seen the first step is generally to put the SLS suspension in the bin and go from there. I think Kings super low all round was a pretty common setup in these models but really depends what ride comfort your after, look you want etc. Best to hunt around forums for pics of a ride height you like and go at it that way, installing it yourself will probably be a touch easier than the BA too with the solid rear.
@@pauls3585 You're right I shouldn't. Funny how often everyone wants what they don't have hey? Both ends of the spectrum have there advantages, if you've ever flown as a tall guy who doesn't want to pay for extra leg room you'll know what I mean!

@ooohry Thanks mate. Going off memory here but as I recall they actually weren’t under a great deal of tension when assembled and I felt quite comfortable doing it. Nice video mate👍I got lowered springs on the back of my XT and the springs always pop out of place every time I Jack it up.Got myself a nice stick in my boot to bash the springs back into place.
@Taylor atkinson Hey mate, as far as I know P plate laws don’t say anything about lowering but it’s been a long time since I’ve had to worry about that!
@@BrowneysGarage thanks. I have purchased a car with raised lovell springs on the front, must be for towing. I am getting a set of xr springs so may lose 40-50mm total.
HI MATE.. THANKS FOR THE video really gained some knowledge here... I am Planning to get SSSL on my 2013 FG FALCON XT ECOLPI .. Should I go with SSL or SSSL on front and SSSL on rear. And Do I need to replace shocks as well?
@Taranjeet Singh Thanks mate. Do your research on forums/groups as to what you'd prefer but if it were me I wouldn't be running standard shocks with SSSL, I'd be getting something to suit the lower spring.
Just stock replacement standard height ones I believe they are. Part numbers in the description, seems to ride ok on this. It does have shortened shocks in the front though.
Not terribly difficult if you reuse factory turbo gear and have reasonable power goals. We'll be doing just that after our NA Performance Mods series and there's other videos of people doing similar out there as well.
@Benjamin James With standard height Springs or XR/lower? As long as it comes down enough to work out of the top locator part I haven't had much trouble doing these cars - which is weird cause I normally do find something that holds me up or needs repairing as well when doing these jobs!
@@BrowneysGarage standard height. Just did my springs and one rear took me over an hour. Had to compress the spring and then awkwardly remove the clamps 1/8 turn at a time once I had it in.
@Benjamin James I might have got lucky then, guess the XR height springs gave just enough room not to have to. If it helps I lost something like 30 mins on the spring compressors too but that was trying to get the front shock and spring assembly line up to bolt in!
I’ve got SSL fronts and SSSL Rear King springs I’ve only installed the rears at the moment haven’t done the fronts yet but what’s the ride like for you is it more bouncer? Mine might just be bouncing due to the fronts still having stock setup in until I change it over to double SSL’s ?
@Philip Teaka Height can effect it but fairly certain bouncy ride is normally associated more with shock absorbers being worn out or not suited to the ride height. In saying that though I'm far from an expert. I'd definitely say the ride with the setup I have is firmer but not bouncy at all really. Good luck mate, should look great with that combo!
I was a little disappointed when I totalled it all up too, probably why I normally try to avoid it! Lucky I had most of it already. Beats coilovers at least, especially if you only go for second hand springs. Thanks for watching mate.
@@BrowneysGarage nice find tho usually second hand are still expensive, freaking got a good deal on that package. Thanks for video definitely going with the ride height you've chosen .

@Jason Edwards having trouble because it’s ceased and won’t turn or it’s turning the whole sway bar pin? Can’t remember spanner or ratchet but shouldn’t matter, if it’s turning the whole pin though you’ll need to use a second spanner on a flat section or vice grips if nothing will fit to hold it.
