I moved to Australia as a child and spent most of life here. I can assure you that Malaysia is still the best. I am intending to return to Malaysia for good in the next few years.
Hi could u elaborate more..am thinking of going down under. You’ve spent most of your time in Australia so I’d assume u didn’t spend much time back in Malaysia so how did u come up with the conclusion that Malaysia is still the best? TIA!
As someone who’s been away from Malaysia for 18 years, living and working abroad, it’s good to share the similar understanding and knowing differences between visiting and living in a place that you did not grow up in, as well as the real price you’re paying to achieve such feat, like giving up the 3F’s (Family, Friends, and Food). 3 years is not a long time, but it can be really long if you dread the entire period you’re there. From the looks of it, it’ll be too short for you guys, so I highly encourage both of you to continue to search for opportunities and employment to prolong your stay and enjoy the country of your dream even longer. You’re also right about things you experience in Malaysia now, may be the last, because things change at a very fast pace in Malaysia, especially in KL. I go back and visit every 2-3 years, and I can absolutely tell what’s changed, what’s gone, and have to keep up with what’s new just to find out another 2-3 years later, even those would become obsolete. That’s the price of being away from home, your memories of things you like and things you know become distanced as well. Life it short, you’ve made your decisions and following through. If you didn’t do this, you may regret it later, which would be horrible. So, have fun, stay positive, stay healthy, and keep looking forward!
One of the best episodes. Creative content. A true story about someone's life, experience, journey, dreams and visions. So inspired to the audience. I really like this episode.
Nah...Hot and humid....I envy my brother in Australia, tending his garden without breaking a sweat. ..I will be watering my planrs with my sweat just tidy up the Garden 😅😅😅.
Sometimes you just want to experience something new, just that alone is enough to make people migrate. Going through same old things back home, doing same things everyday, is repetitive and can be very boring. New country, new sceneries, new culture, new foods, new lifestyle.
When i think of Japan, I always think about that particular negative thing, THAT FOREST WHERE UNHAPPY PEOPLE GO TO COMMIT SUICIDE. THEY DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER CHOICE, IT'S A LAST RESORT FOR THEM. NO OTHER WAY WILL DO. SO SORRY TO HAVE TO SAY THIS 🙏🙏🙏
Malaysian here living in Australia. From WHV to student visa, i believe here its better for my future wife and kids. However i will prefer Malaysia for healthcare system, and public holiday especially celebrating Hari Raya with my family in Malaysia in malay village area.
I been living in United kingdom for 36 years and l can assure you both that life overseas is not everyone dreams. Some are lucky but mostly are not going their way. As an interpreter and translator in a small magistrates court l witness a lot of sad cases. I am not proud as a malaysian but l have my stories if you both want to hear. Regards low
Listen to this program on you tube ( Malaysian in UK ) what's it like being Malaysian in UK. This part is the good side of Malaysian but regarding the bad side of unlucky Malaysian, l don't know l should share it after 36 years because it's a different modern digital world nowadays. Regards
it's so touching, i found a lot of similarity when they said it's a dream to live in Japan. it's all started from Dragonball as well and I love Japan since then.. it makes me want to work harder in order to see Japan one day.. Thank u for very touching videos!
Wooaaa! another great episode again. Kudos for iChang&Jimmy. This is what we don't often see in Malaysia where a Japanese couple interview a Malaysian couple who are leaving Malaysia to Japan 😎👍👍
Selamat jumpa lagi Lim and Jovin, thanks so much for being such a great representation of malaysian hospitality and host to jimmy and ichang ❤love to hear their story
What i fear the most to be immigrant or expat is if i get sick. My family and friends will be too far too help and i don't know what kind of friend and neighbor i would have. Also the cost as foreigner will often not get any discounts or financial aids like local gets.
Yes, thats my biggest fear too . The cost if we sick and need to stay in hospital abroad, eventho insurances will cover but it will take a long times . Im remember one of our malaysian , they need to ask help from government eventho they already look stable but still need the help. Im wonder of that thing.
Such a reflective meaningful conversation! I really enjoyed this episode! Thank you for making time to share honest insights and everyone is very inspiring!
i like this video. why abroad besides studies??...mixed feelings...all the best Lim&Jovyn. beautiful couple & your car...wow! so moving...is this the last??? come back often! ichang & Jimmy...❤
First of all, like to wish Hayashi-san & Jovvyn-san all the best in their next adventure of finding Dragonball in Japan. It’s true what Jovvyn-san mentioned that iChang & Jimmy inspired many people about Malaysia especially food because I’m also one of the follower that went to try our local foods after reviewed by both of you. Thank you so much iChang & Jimmy.
Have fun in Japan Hayashi san and Jovyn san! Do lots of roadtrips whenever you can. In the hot summers, enjoy the beach and go to as many firework festivals 花火大会 as you can. In the cold winters, warm up with snowboarding/skiing and onsen!
So cool to be able to speak other language. Reminded me of my time after high school I went with the Lions club student exhange program too. I had host families in Osaka & Kagoshima. It was a great experience of my life! Japan is awesome!
Nice. I was also in the process of applying for a work visa early this year, but it took so long (5 months and still pending at the time) that my Japan employer had to rescind the offer. My wife and I also feeling very nervous about it the same way as you two, like when are we gonna get it, are we even gonna get it, whether to quit my job earlier, etc. Since neither of us had any experience living longer than 2 weeks in Japan, we were also worried about fitting in, doing heaps amount of research about Japan's gov systems. To make our worries worst, there's the earthquakes and the rapid depreciation of Japan Yen early this year. Ah well, next time then.
I worked abroad for 8 years (4 years in Korea, 2 years London, 1 year each in Paris & Milan). Really enjoyed the first few years but eventually balik kampung for good due to chronic home sickness and yeah family, food and weather were the main factor.
Hey Ichang, why not you guys make videos about all Japanese establishments in Malaysia now. Lala port and pavilion bukit jalil have some like tsutaya, muji, nitori, daiso
Good luck in Japan Lim&Jovyn. I’m Malaysian, have lived in Japan for the last 34 years.Went back to Msia recently and checked out a few places in KL to see if I could move back and live there but… nope ~ yappa Nihon ga ii ❤
A breath of fresh air😊 usually we get loads of comments saying “Malaysia is still the best bla bla bla..” it’s important to go out and see more. The world is so big and after we’ve seen it we’ll definite not think ‘Malaysia is the best’ all the time.Peace!😊
Go Japan kah?? I think go China better lah ..I can see many westerners in China making videos of how good life is in China., Safe Clean, Big land and many plaves to go from High Tech Cities to Ancient Sites ..Beautiful Scenic places. Most imporrant Panda Bear❤❤❤
Hope both of you finally find your peace in M'sia.. Those lovely couple finally can fulfill their dreams of living in Japan after many years. Here you are getting a Nomad Visa and living your dreams in M'sia... very lucky and it's fated 😅😅😅
For me, having lived overseas for many years, besides family and food, I truly missed the healthcare in Malaysia. If you are always healthy and single it is fine. However, once you get sick and raising a family overseas, the availability of good and affordable healthcare in Malaysia will be something you are going to sorely miss.
Japan population is declining due to aging, so it's good that young Malaysian move there to revitalize the country. I for one won't be leaving the country, I foresee that Malaysia will be economic giant in near future.
First of all l would congratulate Lim & Jovyn for immigrating but for all young viewers please do not leave malaysia. Malaysia is the best even though we chinese and Indian is not treated fairly but that's the inspiration to live in a harmony environment to be a better malaysian. Politically,,,it's got nothing to do with us, please stay in malaysia, l lived in United kingdom for 36 years but after retirement l will come home to my own country. Home sweet home. Malaysia
I think everyone want to visit Japan atleast once in their lifetime . But i heard working there can be tough . Goodluck for the married couple ❤ . I hope they're gonna have a lot of fun there .
I assume they also do the Japanese vertical wave "No no no" 🤗 Haha, I can empathise with fellow Yee MIin connoisseur Lim-san "Is this the last time we see KLCC?" - when I came back for a visit, I can no longer find Yip Chi Mei Bao 😔...
Wow can't believe there is an exact Malaysian version of Jimmy & iChang! And they meet each other! This is absolutely Mind-blowing!!!
I moved to Australia as a child and spent most of life here. I can assure you that Malaysia is still the best. I am intending to return to Malaysia for good in the next few years.

ま~日本に住む予定、短期間でしたら、いいかもしれませんね。仕事になると、大変だぞ!日本人ですら、海外に逃げたいのにね😅。25年も日本で仕事してきた先輩からのアドバイスでした。
Simple topic, yet it is so touching and meaningful..another 10/10 content here.👍
They are such a good and down to earth couple. They are so well prepared and will definitely fit Japan perfectly. I wish them all the best!
7 years in Japan and no regret.... Still going back there once or twice every 2 years for 1 month.
